Being a single pickup guitar, this guitar obviously screams "METAL". The stock pickup doesn't sound bad, surprisingly enough. It actually sounds good, if you're not too demanding about pickups or don't have a favourite pickup (I'm an EMG guy myself, so I obviously replaced the stock with an 81), it will do the job well. I'm currently using a Line6 PodXT pro with a Marshall 9200 poweramp, and it sounds colossal with the EMG.

Straight out of the box it plays well, not a perfect setup (as expected), but playable. The cavity was well routed, but there were some smeared finish on the top. Kind of a white blur, only noticeable if you paid attention to it. But hey, you get what you pay for, right?

This guitar will definitely hold up for a LONG time if you're a gigging musician, since it's very well built. But I'd STRONGLY recomend a full hardware swap. Tuners are garbage, bridge is a piece of crap, they're very likely to be Chinese made.
With a full hardware swap, I would definitely gig without a backup. BUT this SG has that annoying "neck dive" problem that loads of SG's have. It gets very unconfortable to play. I'd give it a 8 or 9 if it wasn't for this problem, so it just takes a 6.

Roman (the owner) usually replies quickly to your emails, and is available on MSN Messenger too, IF you're an aspiring or soon-to-be client. After he gets your money and sends out the guitar, he just ignores your emails. I tried to contact him (through email and MSN)after another purchase I made (sent the wrong hardcase), and he simply doesn't respond. And this after a month of getting the guitar.
Customer support my ass, it's more like "buy our stuff, then don't bother us anymore".

I've been playing for 15 years, and I currently own a Laney GH100L and the afforementioned Marshall 9200+Line6 PodXT Pro. If it was stolen or lost, I'd probably go for something else, which doesn't mean that it's a bad guitar, by the contrary. I basically chose this guitar because it was a single pickup and it was cheap. 200 euros (new) for a all mahogany guitar is basically a steal. But considering you'd have to buy new hardware, the full expense would climb up to 400 euros. I'd rather save some more cash and go for a LTD Viper.
