2001 Baker BJH Custom #156. Made for 2001 Namm show. Select Korina back and neck, super highly flamed maple top in tobacco burst, just gorgeous. neck and back of body are done in same finish. body binding, rosewood fretboard, dot inlays. gold hardware, f-hole dimarzio virtual vintage paf's (very warm), 2 volumes and a tone. schaller rotomatic tuners keep everything in tune. gibson scale length and very comfortable neck. uses all the highest quality parts. tone-pro's bridge, dunlop compatible strap locks, buzz feiten tuning system is standard. has excellent features. the only things i wish it had are purely aesthetic (neck and headstock binding, upscale inlay, piezo) and are available at a higher cost.

Sound : 10
sound absolutely fantastic. i was looking for a guitar that kind of fused together the 335 and a les paul and this pretty much does it. the korina is such a fabulous tone wood that accentuates the highs and mids while still retaining the low end. chords are harmonically rich and every note is distinctive. i have absolutely no complaints w/ anything. usually i'm a pure neck pickup player, but i find myself using the bridge pup alone just as much. perfectly balanced tone. its MY tone, the tone i've been waiting to find.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
perfect setup, fit and finish. i cannot for the life of me find anything wrong w/ this guitar. the only slight thing would be that the 3 way selector is a little loose, but not in the sense that it will move around on you. once you move it into position it stays there, its just moveable in that position. i wouldn't consider this a flaw in the least bit, its just different than other guitars i've owned.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
i've gigged with it and would have no problems doing it on a regular basis, hell i plan on doing it. there will be NO reliability issues whatsoever. i always gig w/ a backup, but that's just b/c of string breaking or alt. tunings.

Customer Support : 10
what's better than being able to communicate w/ the guys who made the guitar. gene and gil are very accessable via email or the phone, or you could go to the baker forum and get immeadiate answers there as well.

Overall Rating : 10
i love this guitar. everything about it from the finish, action, to the case and paperwork is of the optimum quality. this is the best quality guitar i've ever played and the best sounding guitar i've ever played. i own and have owned tons of gear from the likes of prs, fender, gibson, jackson, mcinturff etc and this is the epitome of it all. i currently own a prs swamp ash special and gibson lp in addition to the baker although i'm saving up for a p90 equipped baker. i play it through a fender the twin and mesa maverick. contact me if you have any questions. the baker bj series is the intro series in their line, but many claim they are the best sounding of the bunch. what you sacrifice in aesthetics (full binding, inlays, carve tops) is barely noticable in the tone department.
