This is a brand new Baker hollow body guitar hand made in the USA.
The guitar is a 22 fret unit, with a carved top and a cat's eye shaped F hole.
The guitar has typical two humbucker setup of two volume, two tone, three way toggle ( BAker will do anything you ask for, I just wanted to keep it simple, and traditional). The guitar has two DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Humbuckers, that are passive in nature.
The guitar is made of Mahogany and is light as a feather. The guitar is finished perfectly in a nitro solid black color with double white binding, including the cats eye F hole! Looks incredible. I asked the Baker folks to install vintage style Kluson tuners, and the guitar has a Tone Pros bridge setup (tunomatic), and the Buzz Feeten (spelling?) tuning system, which by the way is nothing short of amazing. Big 58' style neck (think real vintage Les Paul), big frets, and a lovely custom made case for the guitar that looks to be a $300.00 + case as apposed to some manufacturers that cut corners when it comes to protecting the guitar. Very nice indeed.

Sound : 10
The guitar sounds somewhere between the best Les Paul you have ever heard (and weighs about 6 pounds), and a great 335. I have played the guitar through everything from a Marshall, to a vintage Deluxe, to a new Line 6 Vetta head and 4-12 cab and the guitar sounds perfect through all of those rigs both in the bridge, and neck pickup settings. GREAT TONE!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar came to me setup with my strings (11 gauge burnished GHS model) and plays like a dream. The pickup adjustment was exactly as I would have set them myself. The guitar's build quality is second to none. This is what historic les pauls, and PRS's wish that they were. Not one complaint, and I am a very critical guy when it comes to quality work.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I just got the guitar, so I can't really make a judgement call on how it will stand up to touring, but it is built so well that I cannot imagine this guitar not being with me for years to come.

Customer Support : 10
Gene Baker and staff are absolutely the nicest people that I have had the pleasure of dealing with. They took the order on the guitar (A very specific order) and delivered the exact guitar that I wanted. They are always available, and are willing to go the extra mile to make the guitarist happy. I will always work with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for 30 years, I own a lot of other guitars and a pile of amplifiers. The people at Baker delivered a perfect intrument to me and I am grateful.
