Cherry red finish. SG '61 reissue body. Best tuners ever! had it for 6 months and still haven't changed strings (except when i bought it, i changed strings to Ernie Balls). 22 Rosewood Jumbo frets with trapezoid inlays. Made probably in USA since Gibson inspects it. 2 vol 2 tone control 3 way switching (H/H Gibson design humbucker).

Sound : 7
It's perfect for blues, classic rock, some metal, good in some punk rock. I use a Line6 Spider II 15w and it's great. After a while, electronics need replacement: gets staticky because parts are all plastic. I turn amp up to half of the vol notches and this guitar is LOUD! Guitar screeeeeeems when i do solos! Even in the crunchy amp setting, chords aren't as dirty as i want.

I bought this at best buy and set up was amazing. People complained about frets and i guess i was just lucky i got a good one. Frets are smooth. I had to change strings and i made the action higher because the action was WAY too low that it buzzed even up to the 14th fret. Humbuckers needed to be raised. Some work needed, but it only took me 30 min. total.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The SG has many complaints of "neck heavy" but i got used to it and my strap has a suede bottom and it doesn't slip like the nylon straps. The guitar is lighter than most guitars i've played. My little cousins threw marbles at it and there are small dents and 2 small tiny nicks on the paint. I can't even tell there's a dent and nicks even when i look right at it because the paint has many layers. the nick actually had a light red paint instead of the wine red (heritage cherry finish). Strap buttons are perfect (location is good, u have to get used to it to be okay with it). I would use this on a gig without a backup because it's too good to be wasted as a practice guitar.

1 year warranty. never got it fixed up by a store pro. Probably never will.

Been playing for 1 year starting on a Johnson acoustic. If it was stolen, i wouldn't buy this because i want to get an Ibanez (and i am getting an Ibanez in November). I love the fact that it looks exactly like an SG. I don't like how "Gibson" isn't on the headstock. I wish it had color choices (black, white, blue, flame top).

Whammy bar would have been nice
This guitar is a steal at this price. It plays as well as my older 60's gibsons and fenders. I have all the collector guitar I evevr wanted so I don't mind taking a step down to this guitar. It plays just as well as the originals. Go and get it. Set it up your way and play. It's a great deal.

Features : 4
22 Frets
Maple Neck, Maple Body
Rosewood Fingerboard
2 Humbuckers
2 Volume/2 Tone
Cherry Finish

Features seem pretty standard for the price. Not many SG shaped student or beginner guitars out there.

Well here's where it all goes to hell, horrible and I'll explain why below.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Frets cut my fingers, then I noticed that the high E string was not even over the fingerboard! How did this thing make it past QC!!!??? And then not only that, but it was the floor model! Lol. I've seen $50 guitars set up better.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Couldn't tell, I would not buy this piece of junk.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well I can't believe that this is supported by Gibson. Quality is down the tubes!
