Heiko's mastgerpiece is made 2005.

Built entirely of some kind composite material.
The guitar is real hollowbody from the tip of the headstock to the bottom of the body.
25 stainless steel frets on flat fretboard
Normal controls, even Heiko opposited the tone :-) controls.
Seamour Duncans (JB)do the trick
Clear coating in Ferrari red and black hardware - looks utterly cool and rock.
Stop tail and LSR-tuners
The guitar looks spectacular but the form is very functional, you more or less dress on the guitar.
Designed original Gigbag does the transport.

Sound : 10
The dynamics and response to player is second to none. The material and the concept gives really instant feedback to player.

The sound is airy and you can tell without seeing that the guitar is semi.

The looks of the guitar is pure space but the sounds are earthy and the guitar suits to several music styles from hard rock even to jazz(thanks to the tone control). I had an opportunity to play the guitar trought Heiko's pre-amp and that made the wings even wider.

This guitar is phenomenal what comes to the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar come in perfect fit. Everything worked straight from the box. I did make a slight adjustment to the bridge PU just to add some more bite to the sound.

Action was very low and that helped me a lot. The neck is huge! The shape of the neck is rounded square and the fretboard is flat so the feeling is like playing a classical guitar. The freatboard feels like ebony and acts like ebony + stainless frets are extremely comfy.

The neck was too much for me and I'm looking forward to see if the guitar comes available for small handed people too.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is very solid and as most of the handbuildt guitars all the hardware is best you can get. The only problem I did face was that when I took the guitar to a local guitar show some "musician" did overturn the pot's and I had to change them after the show. Well, they went into the warranty even though the damage was caused by force.

Backup is always good to have but to the desert island this would be a perfect choice.

Customer Support : 10
Heiko is one of the kindest and easy going persons in music business. The warranty is two years and he did compensate the pots that were broken by force without any hesitation.

Buying a guitar or bass from Basslab is pleasure.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing over 40-years and I have had or have a large variety of guitars and other instruments from newcomere and traditional brands.

I have always been interested in making the guitar in another way and have or have had Abel Axe, Teuffel, Trussart, Molonator, Status, Parker, Moore, Steinberger and even Fender alu models. Among this group of state-of-the art guitars and concepts Basslab guitar is among the best. The airy sound and response to the player is equal to Teuffel and Status guitars and the versatility is equal to Moore and Steinberger so Basslab is a guitar that really provides a lot for a skilled player who needs clear and responsive guitar to produce his/her musical taughts in to live form.

Stunning concept, great person behind the company and great instrument.

The instrument has a lot of incredible tones, with great punch and sustain. In my opinion is ideal for all stiles, since warm tones to clear ones.
I play Rock, Jazz, Blues, funk, Pop-Rock, Latin Music and the guitar delivers all tones I need for to play comfortably
My equipment is:
-Wha wha Morley
-Vox Valvetronic Tonelab SE
-Crate GX 212
The sound is very solid with punch and bright in clean tones and great sustain in distorted ones.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was made very carefully; all hardware and electronic pieces were installed correctly. The action is very low (I love it). Heiko Hoepfinger has set up this instrument extraordinarily???!!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will be able to resist a lot of years playing hard, so, it has been made for it???!!! Include a solid finish clearcoat and it will resist a lot of years to use. The hardware is very resistant too: bridge, tuners, knobs, frets and strap buttons.
I???d feel good using this guitar on a gig without a backup ???!!!

Customer Support : 10
I???ve dealt with the company trough Greg Holmes (Official American Dealer located in Canada), and he???s been very careful with all my specifications. After negotiation I???ve contacted with Heiko Hoepfinger (Company???s owner) and they have been very helpful/friendly with me. All my e-mails were response on time, with all information about my guitar (include o lot of pics). We discussed all details. I???m very grateful with them???!!!
Instrument has been delivered in perfects conditions, instead of, they will repair or replace the electronic or mechanical parts of the instrument, for any problems due to the original workmanship or materials, subject to inspection of the instrument, so, if I have any problem with the instrument (I don???t think so) Heiko and his team would be pleased to help me

Overall Rating : 10
I???ve been playing guitar during 23 years and this instrument is the best one I???ve played in all my life.
This guitar is perfect for me; electronics, hardware, look, finish, action, versatility and, of course, the sound???! It???s an extraordinary instrument
I???ve played many guitars, but this instrument is exceptional, it???s like to get a lot of guitars in one!
Thanks BassLab???!!!
