Have no idea about when it was made or where... It's a kinda crappy version (copy) of a stratocaster, with 22 frets (going up from the 12th fret, you CAN'T BEND without sounding like a dying creature, and most of the frets sound shitty when picked as usual), a black solid body w/ white pickguard, a string through bridge w/"whammy" bar (mine got broken xD), generic tuners, maple neck, gig bag (extremely thin btw) ????, strap (also broken), cable (doesn't work anymore), allen wrenches. One volume, two tone controls, w/ 5 way switch. Three single coil pickups. Body wood type unknown, quite light.
Also came with the amp which is quite confusing to control, and you have to make up your own distortion (which i hate), not as with every random amp in which you have the distortion button. It sounds pretty bad, but comparing it in quality with the guitar, it definitely stays on top xD.
Sound
:

I play metal, and it does not fulfill any of my sound requirements xDDD, since its distortion almost sound as a clean tone, and i'm not able to play as i would in a normal guitar beyond the 12th fret, where i'm unable to bend properly (I have to bend the same note in another string that sounds corret - if there is any xD).
I don't use any pedal or stuff, but i think that the sound could be improved somehow with some effects xD.
It's actually quite noisy with distortion, but i think that the clean tone sounds quite nice (amazingly =D) when playing acustic stuff.
It's quite hard to make harmonics and that sort of things.

I think the guitar set-up was really bad. Even though it's a cheap guitar, you can find tons of other well-constructed and quite high-quality instruments for the same price-range, so I think it sucks xDDD.
The tone and volume controls were quite loose at the beggining, and also the pickup selector IS extremely hard to change, I mean, in a normal guitar it requires almost an effortless movement, but with this behringer guitar, you have to push quite hard to make it xD.
Reliability/Durability
:

I think that it would withstand live playing, but most likely sound like s**t, so, I wouldn't recommend something like that xD.
I'm buying an Ibanez these days =D, so I don't worry too much about this. In an extreme case (in which my current guitar catches fire or breaks in a half or something really hardcore) I would use it as a backup, but not if avoidable xD.

uhmm my parents bought it at a supermarket, so you can imagine how s**tty the whole thing was, but well, I can't blame them, they didn't suspect that I would get so interested by music two years ago xDD.

I've been playing for almost 2 years, and I only own this pack (apart from an acustic Giannini guitar).
Of course I wish I had bought something (almost anything xD) else, but well, now it's kind of a friend (wtf?) to me, like a part of my life, so I won't throw it away or sell it (who's buying it anyways for more than 50 U$S? xDD).
If it where stolen, I would kill the bastard, because it's a part of my life experience (T_T).
I compared it with tons of guitars, and it always lost against them in every sense xDD.
Uhmmm, I wish it had an overall better quality, but above all, a FULLY PLAYABLE FRETBOARD lol.

The pack includes a very light strat copy, decent amp, good tight fitting gig bag, strap, lead, picks and chord chart. The soft (maple imitation) neck reminds me a lot of my first guitar, a Marlin Slammer. The neck is thicker than most electrics which is probably a good thing for beginners so they can build their finger strength. The shape is a slight variation on the Fender strat to distinguish it from other packs out and it is nice to see a change. The guitar has a very good machine head which I swapped with my Ibanez JTK1.
Sound
:
5
The sound as expected is fairly weak and will not hold up if the rest of the band members are playing Warwicks and PRS models. There is not much difference in the tones of the pick-ups but once again this might be good for a beginner and it would encourage unamplified playing with the distraction of feedback, hums, wails etc. Its adequate.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The guitar was pretty well set up with no string buzz or scratchy frets which suprised me.
Reliability/Durability
:

It would not really stand up to live playing but other than a school/church assembly. I know from my Marlin Slammer the wood on this neck will not last many years but for someone starting out it will be fine for at least 12 months.

If you subtract the price of all the extras it means you get a guitar for only a few pounds which is no bad thing. It's not a bad guitar either and certainly one that you could be creative with rather than for using live. The chord chart is also useful.
If someone has been playing an acoustic for twelve months and wanted a first electric they should look for a more expensive model with better pick-ups. However for someone entirely new to guitar playing this is a good strating point. If guitar playing is not for them they will not have wasted too much money.

Guitar is a cheap stratocopy, WYSIWYG.
Amp is likewise cheap; has reverb button but no way to control how much reverb. Bass and treble controls but no middle.
Pack came with strap which broke quickly.

I'm giving it a 5 instead of a 3 because it cost just under $100, but if I had paid more I would be disappointed.
Like: The bridge pickup does OK for twangy surftones. The amp gain is pretty good. Guitar sustain is not so hot but for the price, hey. The trem works OK which was a pleasant surprise.
Dislike: The guitar way over-amplifies the G string, on all PUs. And yes I tried changing strings. Will try again but I shouldn't have to keep doing this. Amp: It doesn't really matter where you set bass and treble, it sounds pretty much the same.

Factory setup was adequate but I had it redone and now playability is fine.
My big beef is that apparently they ran a forklift over it at the factory, since out of the box the frets had deep string marks in them, and the strings were deeply bent at the frets. No kidding. New strings remedied that, but there is a buzz at 6th fret A string that will never go away. If I were insane I could have it refretted but that would cost many times more than the guitar is worth.

Have had it a few months, so it's hard to say. Seems to be better than some cheapo stratocopies, but the finish is showing signs of wear in odd places so probably will not stay looking good for long. But hey - guitar and amp for $100, whaddya expect.

Out of the box the amp was kaputt. I called customer support, first they tried to tell me it was not their problem, I had to argue on phone long-distance for a while. Then after some days they graciously allowed me to send it in. Weeks passed, more weeks passed, finally I called and asked what's up. They said yep they had received mine, and had a replacement, just hadn't sent it out and they were sorry and would do so. (What if I hadn't asked? Would they ever have sent the replacement?)
Bright spot was that once they said they would send it, I received it within 2 days.

For the price I gotta say it's OK. I played for several years as a kid, then decided to get back into music again. It is actually more playable than the SG I had as a kid. The guitar is pleasantly light, and a setup made it quite playable, despite the problems described above. It was an easy re-entry for me, so in that sense it fulfilled its mission.
But I have since gotten an Ibanez kit (I live in two places, so need 2 sets), also with a 15 A practice amp, and what a difference. Cost 3x more, but 6x better sound, more range, more sustain, etc., can do much more with it.
But bear in mind the purpose of this Behringer: It is strictly a practice or entry-level guitar that you don't need to worry too much about. And since it's so cheap, you have enough $ left over to get a "real" instrument later. For me it was a risk-free way to see if I was really interested, and it fulfilled that purpose well. Despite everything it's still enough fun to play that I do spend time practicing, which is the important thing.
So if practice/entry/test-the-waters is what you're looking for, it's fine. But that's really all it's for.

-The Guitar:
-Junk strat copy. 22-fret maple neck. 1 volume, 2 tones, 5 way position with 3 crappy single coil pickups and cheap electronics.
-The website states: The pack contains a high-quality electric guitar with tremendous playability. This is not true. In fact, it should be considered false advertisement. It's just to overrated.
-The Amp (from the website):
-True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amp with 8" Speaker.
-Authentic Analog Modeling for 3 classic guitar amps, 3 speaker simulation models plus 3 gain modes???providing you with 27 classic sound presets.
-CD input allows you to play along with your favorite music
-Powerful headphone output with speaker simulation
-Rugged construction for years of trouble-free use.

It's made for beginners.
Beginners normally like a style but don't have any yet This is why most beginner guitars are strat copies with 5 way positions, in order to offer the widest range of sound possible. Metal lover will look into a strat copy with a h/s/s config. This said... even a total retard will no style and no ear will notice something is wrong with this piece of s***.
Everything sounds awefull on it and it will take alot of maintenance to get it to sound "acceptable". Don't even think of bringing it to the repair dude. Waist of $$. DIY. This is unacceptable for a novice who wants to learn how to play and not to be a luthier.
The Amp is actually ok. With the different options and presets, you get a wide range of sounds. Good for novices that don't have effects. Only thing missing is reverb but normally a nice sounding guitar can go without any. It's not the case here. Comparable to any other cheap 100-150$ amp.

Even china doesn't build them this bad.
After close inspection under a good light, it was clear that they messed up the sand job on the neck. There was marks.
The neck itself wasn't screwed tight. The plate wasn't centered. After removing it in order to center it and screw it in tight I saw a bunch of holes in the neck and the body. It took the guy 3 times to finally get it in place. I can't center the plate without damaging the neck or body.
The paint is cheap, paint at the neck joints cracked after 2 months. Paint as spots.. poor sand job before the finish.
The amp is as reliable as any other cheap 100-150$ amp. Amp gets the points again.

I went back to the music store before removing the neck and all. He wasn't in business with Behringer anymore because of poor customer support and service. I am aware of 3 other stores in the Montreal region that stopped selling Behringer for the exact same reasons.
My store offered me to trade it against another package. We inspected the 9 he had left and nothing was pleasing me. I been going at that place since forever... he gave me a 200$ credit on futur purchases because he didn't want to go throught the trouble of contacting Behringer.

I never realized how much this guitar pissed me off before writing this review. You want a beginner guitar ? Look at other packages.. or get yourself a 50$ amp from ebay and basically any 100-125$ guitar should be better that this.
As for me ? I'm 27 I played from 16 to 20. I owned a bunch of strat copies from 16 to 18. I had a Warlock BC Rich and a Jackson, I don't remember the model, at 18. I lost, destroyed or modified most of my strats and at 19 I sold my Lock and Jackson. At 20 I had a Washburn BT-10 Maverick series. That one was stolen and I ended up buying computers and stuff and did hip-hop / rap music. I wanted to start playing guitar again last year so I was looking for something affordable to start over the hard way :)
I got screwed by this junk!!
I kept the amp and custom build myself a bad ass H/S/H, all seymour duncans, 24 fret, Original floyd rose 2x lock etc.. etc.. and I'm back in business baby !!!

Behringer GM108 analogue modelling practice amp as descrbed by others.
Metal lovers look elsewhere the amp is capable but the single coil guitar won't cut it. You need humbucker pickups. Check out the Behringer El Toro pack with a humbucker at the bridge. Hopefully the guitar is set up better than this one.

Vintage rock, blues.
This pack suits my need for single strat like sounds.
Amp is the star of this pack.
Guitar had unplayable setup out of the box.
Only after a setup can this guitar be considered playable especially for beginners who have yet to develop good finger stength and callouses.
The stock pickups sound better than most of the sub $300 guitars I checked out.
Controls, switch and jack are smooth and seem sturdier than a lot I saw.

Amp is built well considering price.
Guitar looks cheap, made from cheap compononents, body is laminated wood of unknown type.
I set mine up as a learning experience. Others may wan't to pay a guitar tech to do the setup. Factoring in that cost may be enough to put you into Yamaha Pacifica whos setup looks good to me right out of the box.
To setup my guitar:
I replaced the stock strings with a name brand.
Lowered the strings by adjusting the bridge saddles. Had to cut the bottoms off the overly long saddle screws so they wouldn't stick out of the top of the saddles and shred knuckles.
Adjusted the truss rod to straighten the neck slightly.
Removed a spring from the trem cavity and balanced the trem bridge to float.
Filed the nut string slots to lower the strings at the first fret.
*(This is very important. It is a common problem with most beginners guitars I saw. If the strings are left to high at the nut, 1st position open string chords beginners will learn first will be very difficult to play causing their fingers to be more sore than necessary. It may be one of the reasons most beginners quit after just a few months.)*
After the setup this guitar went from an unplayable 3 to a very playable 7.

I've played drums for over 45 years but have always wanted to get serious about learning guitar. I've jammed with the same group for the last 15 years. The lead player plays an all original 64 Fender strat which he allows me to plunk on during breaks. That worn body rusted hardware thing still sounds sweet. Does this guitar sound as good his 64 strat....no way. Is it close enough for a beginner with some imagination....absolutely.
I was going to spend up to $500 to get a guitar but decided to take a chance on this pack when they dropped the price to clear them out. I'm glad I did. I learned some setup skills (every guitar player should) on a cheap guitar and with that experience will be less likely to make mistakes adjusting a more expensive one when I get it.
I'll probably be looking for a better guitar in a year if I'm still playing. But I'll still keep this one handy behind the couch or in the corner to plunk on. If it gets damaged...Oh well it certainly didn't owe me anything at this price.
The amp is the best sub $100 practice amp I've heard. Clean or dirty it's a keeper for a beginner or pro. Almost worth the price of the pack alone. I installed a speaker out jack (voids warrantee). Since it's a modelling amp I drove an old 12" hi fi speaker with it. Sounds amazing, not as loud but rich and full like a stack!
Amp rates an 8, Guitar *after setup* a 7, average, 7.5. Guess I'll have to round it down to a 7.

A lot of folks complained about "out of the box". Mine was great just a few turns on the truss rod but really everything else was perfect for me. I bought this from Same Day Music...they seem to have the bulk of what's left of these (1400)but if you buy from anywhere less than a guaranteed dealer (Six Star DJ is another)you are definitely on your own!

Not Bad! Action was a little low so a truss rod adjustment fixed that. No problems w/ the bridge or nut. The neck is straight and the frets could be filed but it really was borderline. The strings are exta light gauge maybe .10-.48 so you might want something heavier but it plays well. I would recommend for someone who wants an inexpensive axe to use in studio or for practice. Out of the box was good for this purchase. The sound is very nice if what you're looking for is a fender touch to your music. If you're a beginner and you got the rig I did...you would be extremely pleased for the ease of play. Just make sure you know someone who can handle the little oddities for you if there are any...and other seem to indicate there might be. For the price and my particular use it is great!

I bought this from Same Day Music...again they have the 45 day return policy which is why I'd recommend buying from them. Also they match the lower price and Six Star DJ is selling it for $89.99 so they gave it to me for $88...not tax no shipping. Great deal! The amp alone is worth it ($60) so the guitar is digging a hole in your wallet for $28 bucks...not a lot of room to complain!

For $28 you're not going to get better wood, pick-ups, hardware etc. This is assembled in China...(the amp I believe in Germany)and I got lucky...the blind guy must have been on lunch break when they put mine together! I love the sound which is why I bought it. I don't really dislike anthing about it...been playing 42 years; have various basses (Rogue, RIC, Fender Jazz fretless and a Hohner acoustic. Am a real pack rat; own a Lotus Les Paul knock off and a beautiful Epi EJ 200 acoustic. I'd definitely get another is something happened to this.

Out of the box, barely playable, sounded awful. After some set-up, including raising the pickups, lowering the strings, setting intonation, and replacing the strings, it sounds like a strat. Maybe not a high end strat, but a strat nonetheless. Being single coils, the sound is rather thin without some distortion in the 1,3,5 positions. Sounds better, and without hum in positions 2 & 4.

Not set up at all. Action was high, intonation way off, pickups too low. No problems w/ the bridge or nut. The neck is straight, but needed fret ends filed, as they were sticking out and sharp. After doing all these things, it plays well. I wouldn't recommend for some newbee who doesn't know how to do these things. Out of the box is was not good at all.

Not sure if I would buy another one. I bought it cheaply on Ebay and might buy another at that price. I may be replacilng the pickups and messing around w/ it to make it sound better. I really like the light weight. My other two electrics are rather heavy on the shoulder strap. Once it's set up and w/ the new strings, a decent guitar for the price.

This is a great starter pack I would highly recommend this package. I compare this to be equal to the squier pack. in fact I would say the amp is better then the squier pack. People on this site knock the sound put I have worked on both the squiers and the behringers and the electronics pretty much looks the same. They both have cheap Chinese parts one isn???t any better then the other, but they???re both good enough for a beginner. You have to keep in mind when you buy a beginner pack 90 percent of the time it???s sitting in closet 3 months latter. The student???s that do last after a year are ready for a better guitar no matter what beginner pack. So save the money for the next one. It's a great guitar pack for the money and I wished I had something as good as this when I started out in the 70???s.
