This review is for the 5119 Bently black dreadnaught size guitar. I'm not sure of the age of this guitar, as I bought it used. It was made in Korea.I believe the top is laminated. It is a basic acoustic that appears to be very well made, with white binding all around. I am not sure of the wood used in construction but it looks like mahogany, or nato.

Here is where this guitar really shines. It just sounds great.I put on a new set of Martin light strings (10-46) and it sounds like a $500 guitar. I play some jazzy/blues stuff on it and really like the sound, although it could be louder. It probably would be with heavier strings. The neck is great for me, I have sausage fingers and it is wide enough for me to cleanly chord and play notes.

The action was a tad high, before adjusted.Looking inside I see a little glue here and there but nothing to detract from the overall playabilty of this guitar. It looks built well enough to last a lifetime. The black paint is evenly applied, with nothing apparently wrong with the finish. All the frets are well finished, with nothing hanging out to grab your fingers.

It seems plenty tough enough, but sh*t happens. It has only one strap button.I would not hesitate to use it to gig with.

I have only been playing about 2 years, and the only other guitar I own is a Silvertone Bluesmaster. This guitar can hold it's own in the quality of sound department, I have heard Alvarez's, Yamaha's, Epiphones, Martin'S and Fender's, and this sounds as good if not better than most of them. Go figure.

This guitar is pretty basic; a great first guitar for those just learning. The neck is a bit fatter than standard which makes learning more challenging. I first picked it up when I was about 12 years old and at the time I couldn't play a G-chord on it.

My favorite thing about it is, for all is mediocrity, it sounds great to any untrained ear. When playing with fellow amateur guitarists, my cheap guitar sounds better than their cheap guitar.

I've had it for 8 years now and it's held up pretty well. The screws which hold in the tuners have become pretty stripped, but that is easy to repair. The neck is not bowed and the body finish has resisted tenacious attempts to scratch it by knocking it over.

Overall, I would recommend it as a first guitar for anyone. In fact, I still haven't bought a second because I can't justify it. The sound it produces is quite pleasing to any amateur.
