My series 10 was a ruby red jackson copy with a locking trem a double humbucker at the bridge position. All black hardware and an after market flame decal on the headstock. Sweet!

Sound : 10
Ruby, thats what she said her name was, was the loudest meanest metal guitar I have ever owned. She had sustain for days and could handle the toughest distortion I chose.

I used her for about 5 years of constant gigging in metal clubs and other venues I have never found a guitar that sounded as great as this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
She was the sweetest guitar I have ever owned. Her neck was just right for my hands and the action was perfect

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Great Axe! I dropped her and abused her and she never went out of tune and almost never got even a ding. My kid brother ever rode her down the steps and she survived virtually unharmed.

I never had a back up the whole time I owned her. Never needed one either.

Customer Support : 1
UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.....pawn shop axe, never needed customer support!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for almost 15 years. I currently own a washburn electric guitar, the model escapes me, and a Takamine electric/acoustic running through a Peavey Combo amp.
My sweet ruby was stolen about 4 years ago and I would kill my aunt mabel to get her back!

Wow...so long ago. My Bently Series 10 (the Pink Elephant) is a knockoff of a Jackson that I bought new in 1988 for $200-$300 (I think). It is hot pink, has a fat neck with 24 jumbo frets, locking trem (not floating), S/S/H, and I don't remember the rest. I still have the stock single coils in it, but they aren't wired up. I put an EMG 81 in the humbucking position (over the years, I've had a few different humbuckers in it). It has three dip switches to select pickups. When it is all wired correctly, each of the three-position switches would control on/off or reverse phase on it's corresponding pickup. I remember the pickups were crap, though. Also, I don't know the wood it's made from, but the Elephant is HEAVY. Heavier than a Les Paul. This is one beefy guitar.

Sound : 10
I own a number of guitars now, including a Les Paul and an Ibanez Jem7vwh, but NOTHING on the planet sounds like the Pink Elephant. Cranked through a Marshall, she sounds kind of like Godzilla eating your face while making sweet love to a bulldozer. She isn't good for clean sounds, jazzy tones, country, or anything else like that. This guitar is built for huge, heavy, chunky, sweaty, meaty, smelly hard rock or metal. It will sustain until Jesus returns. This guitar has been known to strip the skin completely off a mule's hind leg, knock bricks out of a wall, and it makes a number of sounds, including screams, moans, yelps, roars, and farts (much like my ex-wife).

In short, for it's niche, I have yet to encounter a better sounding guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
I don't remember, it's been 20 years. I only remember the pickups were microphonic.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar withstood more abuse than Pamela Anderson. I have beaten it to its limits of breaking (actually, I broke the headstock once and had to re-drill a hole for the tuning peg of the high E, so it's 5-up and 1-down on the headstock rather than 6-up like a Jackson). The finish has lasted, there are lots of nicks and dings, but wherever it hasn't taken a direct hit, the finish is good. The hardware is original. The strap buttons came out a number of times due to various forces. They are screwed in with wood screws now and I used washers to secure the strap. I gigged without a backup for countless shows. Even the time I broke the headstock, the strings were locked at the nut and it didn't go out of tune. I finished playing with the end of the headstock dangling from the end of the E string on the other side of the locking nut.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nothing. Bently went out of business a long time ago, and I never used them anyway.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since '83 and have owned a number of guitars and amps. If anyone were foolish enough to steal her, she would kill the thief herself and return to me, for I have shown her true love.

I hardly ever play the Pink Elephant anymore. Her neck is a bit unstable now, so she rests in my studio and I wouldn't sell her for any price. I played this guitar for several years in the late 80's thru the mid-90's. She has been stolen and recovered, set on fire, dropped, thrown, humped, stomped on, drowned in beer, beaten, ravaged, broken, repaired, and has been in a few situations I cannot discuss here.

look at Eddie Van Halen's "EB EVH Signature Gold Top"
at http://www.vintagekramer.com/5150f.htm
and http://www.ebevhguitars.com/guitar_sale.html (for a better picture)

it is identical to my guitar except for the name on the head stock

Sound : 10
it has a really good sound loud and full on a clean amp no distortion

i Imagen that you could make it sound just like Eddie dose

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
really good smooth action the guitar is in near immaculate condition and well set up

Reliability/Durability : 9
Eddie used an identical guitar live and in front of 10s of thousands of people so with some starplocks i cant Imagen needing a backup

Customer Support : 2
company don't exist any more :(

I've been playing of near 6 months now trade in a junk squire of this beautiful guitar and it turns out is identical to one of Eddie Van Halen's guitars (i'm havening some trouble understanding how my guitar was made in the 80's and Ernie Ball calms to design the Eddies in the 90's though)

I Recently baught one. There Pretty awesome my buddy who owns a les paul Thinks it rocks. Mine has one volume control and one tone control, it came with a nice wammy bar. I baught for 160 dollars. I think its a very good Guitar. ROCK ON.

Sound : 8
It may be a little to quite without a amp. But man, once you hook this thing up its got a really good hum to it. I think its because The sound runs through the body.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
It pulls out a little on the strings but other than that the tunings pretty good. The color is a little faded though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing is the most reliable guitar I have ever had as my pleasure to own.

I have a bently les paul copy it has 22 frets its a solid top guitar and it has 4 controls two tone and two volume, and two pickups in the neck and bridge position. I am not really sure what the body is made of but the neck is rosewood, the body style is like a les paul, it has a tune o matic bridge, non locking tuners which look to be gotoh but i will be replacing with sperzel locking tuners, the neck is just the right size its between thin and medium, the frets are medium sized. I got it as a trade in so i got to pickout a strap. I got a levy's leather one with a pocket to keep picks in and the guitar already had strap locks. I went in to the store looking to get a danelectro inuendo but i didn't have enough cash, plus all they had was the ones with glitter on them and i hate those my second choice was a les paul copy so i saw it in the used guitars so i got it, i am giving this a 10 because it has the same features as a les paul. Oh yeah it also has a two way pickup selector.

Sound : 8
This guitar is perfect for my music style i play everything from blues to classic rock to southern rock to punk. Currently i am using a crappy rogue amp i traded my peavey pacer 150 watt for this guitar, the effects i am currently using are a dunlop cry baby, and a danelectro black lichorice distortion pedal. I have tested the guitar on all settings and it isn't noisy at all at any level. It has a really bright sound then if you switch to rythm you have a nice crunch perfect for sabbath type stuff. I am sure this guitar can do anything you want it to do. I would have to say that my only dislikes are the pickups i will be switching them with gibson iommi or 57 classic les paul humbuckers as soon as i get the cash. I am giving this a 8 just because the pickups were not really what i was looking for.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Since i got this guitar used i am not sure how well it was set up at the factory but when i got the guitar the action was a little to high for me so i lowered it. Since i got it used it had the basic wear and tear like dents, scratches and dings nothing i couldn't live with though, the frets were laid perfect. I am giving this a 9 because i had to adjust the action and it had some dents, by the way the finish is ebony with creme colored binding it a really beautiful guitar all of you who own one you should know and the people who don't own one you would have to see it to believe it.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have not played this guitar live but i am postive that it will withstand live playing, the hardware looks like it will last but like i said i will be replacing the tuners with sperzels since i am one that doesn't like to tune everyday. When i got it it had strap locks on it they were the leather kind they seem to work really good, i don't know what the original strap buttons were like, i'm pretty sure you could depond on it in any situation the thing is built like a sherman tank it ways a ton, you could use it without a backup but i would bring an extra axe just to be on the safe side. I am not rating this category because i have not gigged with it live only time can tell if it will with stand live playing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Bently no longer exists they changed there name to Austin and they don't carry the guitar no longer, its also an older guitar. Again i am not going to rate it because bently no longer exists.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing since i was eleven i am now fifteen, i also own an 80's model peavey predater, a rogue sx100b bass, and a fender p-bass, and an acoustic guitar, and i have a mandolin. If it were stolen or lost chances are i wouldn't be able to find it again but if i did i would hunt down the idiot who stole it and beat him on the head a couple of times with it and let him see how heavy it is. I bet he would think twice about stealing from me. The main reason i love this guitar is that its like a les paul i have always wanted one since i started playing but couldn't afford one, another thing i like about it is the sound, i compared the bently sound to my dads friends gibson les paul custom mine sounded a lot better than his he is now looking for a bently. I did compare it to a danelectro innuendo but it was way to lite and i didn't have the extra cash to get it, if anyone out there owns a bently series 10 les paul copy please e-mail me at burntbass2005@yahoo.com maybe we can exchange tech tips or something.

I have a Bently series 10 Flying V, I like it better then my 67 Gibson V with a Floyd Rose. It was good right out of the second hand rack at in WV.I paid 179 dollars for it! I also previously had a Red transparent Series 10 Les Paul copy,I paid 135 dollars for it. It was also a very fine Guitar, better then my 84 Les Paul Custom. Gibson could learn a few lessions about finish from Bently. The paint work was excelent on both axes,It was even dry before thay sold it!yes I call them Axes!I found that if you clean the imput jax on the Guitars thay perform perfectly.I did modify the V, I added a center PU and a roller bridge(Fender W/tremelo) I also replaced the neck with a strat maple and Top notch Fender tuners. Then I put a Superflake Red paint job on it! I still have the stock neck,It had no problems I would even say it was Hot,Medium/Jumbo frets with rosewood.I just perfer maple. It sounded great stock so I still use the stock PUs, I added a Dimarzio in the middle/bar type humbucker.I couldent be any happier,do you know anybody selling a Series 10 Flying V. I'll buy it. E-mail me at( mattis777@yahoo.com ) I gave my les paul away to a friend and Im trying to buy back The Series 10 Les Paul from the woman I sold it to,at this point she refuses to sell it!. My Gibson V is up for sale too, the strat is already gone.I have owned a lot of Guitars 64ES175 Gibson,Kay Jag-two of then,Other Les paul copies,Fenders,84and95 Gibson Les Pauls and a 2001 Gibson Flying V,You can have them all,I pefer to have a bently!!!!!!!!!Quality not price!!!!!Who says you Get what you pay for,not true! Fender Jap strat would be my second choice.I wouldent give you two cents for a new Gibson,Its Crap!!!!!!!So are most of Gibsons dealers-Pig Heads!!! Oh Yeah Bently could also teach Gibson about reasonable action and Guitar set up! I have never seen a better neck then on the Series 10 Bently Les Paul-Supreme and Consitant!!!!The solid Maple Top was also very attractive-not 3 mis matched pieces Like my Gibsons. I Give Bently an A for Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Id have to check the number to find what year it is,Im not sure.

Sound : 10
I play all styles that I like- Metal to 50,60s Rock and I even worship Jesus with it! I use 2 Peavey 120 Tube amps and a Sovtek Mig 100 Tube amp ,all at once -tri-amp with seven effects. My Tube Amps Hum so Loud that noise is not a factor. The sound is sweet as a bird in flight on rythem, in the middle with all 3 pick ups its a Caddilac crusing the Hi-Way in the rear Lead with the center pick up wired into the back,Its Vegas Strip in a convertable,Thay dont wire it like most Vs and it allows more tone control,A problem with my Gibson V it has very limited tone, but a good overall sound, but not worth what it cost,Orvell Gibson would cry if he red this! He diddent build the kind of crap Gibson sells today. The Bently V overall makes every sound I want it to,It has replaced all my other Guitars,Even my SG Gibson customized with 3 PUs and 24 frets,I still pefer to play the Bently. It has literally barried all my other custom Axes!!!!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Set up was Good on both Axes, The only thing not good was the plating on the tail, but that may not of been cleaned by the first owner,I just dont know. All the fitting was good even the neck had very large screws holding it on,it does not come loose like most bolt ons.The fret work was very good.I think the tail piece was just normal wear actually. The pick up on the les paul had one weak spring on it that had to be adjusted once a week, tightened, under severe playing.Other then that Just to clean the input jax upon purchase.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It Has. If you dont drop it too many times the hardware can hang. The stock Finishes are very good,I do custom laquer painting,The sunbursts and transparents are Top Notch! I still have the stock stap buttions on my Flying V- thay work fine and stay tight.I always have a back-up Guitar, only a fool trusts wire and solder totally! But it has never let me down to this point! Other Guitars have, and if you dont have a back-up dont complain if thay hand you a 1962 sears electric! I have experienced that nightmare before,Its like shock treatment!Always have a back-up,just find yourself another Fine Bently Guitar-Dont be a fool and pass it up!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to! But I would like to buy another one of there Flying V Guitars? Is anyone selling then,do thay have a new name?

Overall Rating : 10
Sence the Stones came to America,I remember Elvis Presley and Little Richard,Good Goly miss moly, theres a whole lotta shakin goin on!.For A While between divorces!. I'D CRY - And I'D find it or another one and re-build it again! More Power From My Amps! And my own private stadium to practice in!And people telling me to turn it up,not down!If you want that groove you've got to crank that Tube! I wish I found Bently years ago and Bought another Flying V from them,I may of bought a couple extras,I still would like to, I would like a blue superflake to go with my Red one!!I do not need any other Guitars I own a Bently Flying V !!!!! But I would double my pleasure if I found another Bently Flying V !!!!!!

I've owned a lot of guitars..Strats to Rick basses and lots of crap too. I picked this thing up at a local flea market for $80 cuz it looked to be in decent shape. After getting it home I started to rebuild it ( although the action and sound weren't bad at all). The factory buckers were replaced with Golden Age units from Stewart MacDonald along with the tuners, tune-a-matic and stopbar tail piece. The body appears to be plywood. although the top has a carved shape under a good looking black paint job. The neck is real fast and thinner than a Paul with a 25" scale and 22 nicely shaped fat frets. With the addition of the new bridge and a set of Grover "Kluson Style" tuners, the guitar really stays in tune, even after really digging into it. Intonation is not a problem. So for the initial price and the additional goodies ( all purchased through Stew-Mac) I have a sweet playing and great sounding axe for under $250!

Sound : 10
A blues players tone machine...played through an old Fender Champ and an older Ampeg Rocket 2, this thing really wails. Much ballsier than my Strat and easier to play.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
As noted, most of the factory hardware was scrapped for upgraded stuff, but the fit and finish of the basic guitar is very good. A good tight neck joint and a bound top and fret board. Still using the factory pots as they are pretty smooth and quiet.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I gig with this thing on a regular basis.....people are amazed that a "cheap" guitar can sound so good.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Like I said, this is my first experience with Bently, and I may have gotten lucky. But what I did to reserrect the guitar is well within the scope of most players out there who like to mess with their gear. You just need to see beyond the obvious and look for hidden qualities

The moment I saw my guitar in the store, I fell in love. I bought my series 10 for only $150. It was made in Korea, but it is the best guitar I've played for years. I can't beleive how the cheap guitar's big turn buckle pickups give it a rich and full tone. My dad payed over $500 for his electric, and he agrees that my Series 10 sounds better. I don't know why everyone is giving them bad reviews here? Perhaps you would pay extra money for a shirt if it said "Tommy Hellbanger" on it. As for me, I'll stick with my cheap and practical guitar, proudly displaying the series 10 logo at all my concerts. P.S. I also drink "The Beast"

Sound : 9
I play good music. This means I use more than 5th's and 4th's in my music. There are plenty of 7th chords and suspensions. These chords sound great with the rich sound of a series 10 guitar. In addition, the thing stays in tune suprisingly well. This means I don't have a bunch of bad sounding major 7th chords. (When they are out of tune, it shows)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Not only does it sound good for what I payed, but it is stunning to look at. It has a buetiful red and orange finish. This guitar allows you to adjust the angle of the strings, in respects to the bridge, with an adjustment doohicky at the bottom if you are not not satisfied with that.

Reliability/Durability : 8
So far, so good. Knock on wood.

I am so happy with this guitar, that I'm looking to get my dad one for christmas. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find one online.
