My series 10 was a ruby red jackson copy with a locking trem a double humbucker at the bridge position. All black hardware and an after market flame decal on the headstock. Sweet!
Sound
:

Ruby, thats what she said her name was, was the loudest meanest metal guitar I have ever owned. She had sustain for days and could handle the toughest distortion I chose.
I used her for about 5 years of constant gigging in metal clubs and other venues I have never found a guitar that sounded as great as this guitar.

She was the sweetest guitar I have ever owned. Her neck was just right for my hands and the action was perfect

Great Axe! I dropped her and abused her and she never went out of tune and almost never got even a ding. My kid brother ever rode her down the steps and she survived virtually unharmed.
I never had a back up the whole time I owned her. Never needed one either.

I have been playing for almost 15 years. I currently own a washburn electric guitar, the model escapes me, and a Takamine electric/acoustic running through a Peavey Combo amp.
My sweet ruby was stolen about 4 years ago and I would kill my aunt mabel to get her back!

Wow...so long ago. My Bently Series 10 (the Pink Elephant) is a knockoff of a Jackson that I bought new in 1988 for $200-$300 (I think). It is hot pink, has a fat neck with 24 jumbo frets, locking trem (not floating), S/S/H, and I don't remember the rest. I still have the stock single coils in it, but they aren't wired up. I put an EMG 81 in the humbucking position (over the years, I've had a few different humbuckers in it). It has three dip switches to select pickups. When it is all wired correctly, each of the three-position switches would control on/off or reverse phase on it's corresponding pickup. I remember the pickups were crap, though. Also, I don't know the wood it's made from, but the Elephant is HEAVY. Heavier than a Les Paul. This is one beefy guitar.
Sound
:

I own a number of guitars now, including a Les Paul and an Ibanez Jem7vwh, but NOTHING on the planet sounds like the Pink Elephant. Cranked through a Marshall, she sounds kind of like Godzilla eating your face while making sweet love to a bulldozer. She isn't good for clean sounds, jazzy tones, country, or anything else like that. This guitar is built for huge, heavy, chunky, sweaty, meaty, smelly hard rock or metal. It will sustain until Jesus returns. This guitar has been known to strip the skin completely off a mule's hind leg, knock bricks out of a wall, and it makes a number of sounds, including screams, moans, yelps, roars, and farts (much like my ex-wife).
In short, for it's niche, I have yet to encounter a better sounding guitar.

I don't remember, it's been 20 years. I only remember the pickups were microphonic.
Reliability/Durability
:

This guitar withstood more abuse than Pamela Anderson. I have beaten it to its limits of breaking (actually, I broke the headstock once and had to re-drill a hole for the tuning peg of the high E, so it's 5-up and 1-down on the headstock rather than 6-up like a Jackson). The finish has lasted, there are lots of nicks and dings, but wherever it hasn't taken a direct hit, the finish is good. The hardware is original. The strap buttons came out a number of times due to various forces. They are screwed in with wood screws now and I used washers to secure the strap. I gigged without a backup for countless shows. Even the time I broke the headstock, the strings were locked at the nut and it didn't go out of tune. I finished playing with the end of the headstock dangling from the end of the E string on the other side of the locking nut.

I've been playing since '83 and have owned a number of guitars and amps. If anyone were foolish enough to steal her, she would kill the thief herself and return to me, for I have shown her true love.
I hardly ever play the Pink Elephant anymore. Her neck is a bit unstable now, so she rests in my studio and I wouldn't sell her for any price. I played this guitar for several years in the late 80's thru the mid-90's. She has been stolen and recovered, set on fire, dropped, thrown, humped, stomped on, drowned in beer, beaten, ravaged, broken, repaired, and has been in a few situations I cannot discuss here.

I have a bently les paul copy it has 22 frets its a solid top guitar and it has 4 controls two tone and two volume, and two pickups in the neck and bridge position. I am not really sure what the body is made of but the neck is rosewood, the body style is like a les paul, it has a tune o matic bridge, non locking tuners which look to be gotoh but i will be replacing with sperzel locking tuners, the neck is just the right size its between thin and medium, the frets are medium sized. I got it as a trade in so i got to pickout a strap. I got a levy's leather one with a pocket to keep picks in and the guitar already had strap locks. I went in to the store looking to get a danelectro inuendo but i didn't have enough cash, plus all they had was the ones with glitter on them and i hate those my second choice was a les paul copy so i saw it in the used guitars so i got it, i am giving this a 10 because it has the same features as a les paul. Oh yeah it also has a two way pickup selector.

This guitar is perfect for my music style i play everything from blues to classic rock to southern rock to punk. Currently i am using a crappy rogue amp i traded my peavey pacer 150 watt for this guitar, the effects i am currently using are a dunlop cry baby, and a danelectro black lichorice distortion pedal. I have tested the guitar on all settings and it isn't noisy at all at any level. It has a really bright sound then if you switch to rythm you have a nice crunch perfect for sabbath type stuff. I am sure this guitar can do anything you want it to do. I would have to say that my only dislikes are the pickups i will be switching them with gibson iommi or 57 classic les paul humbuckers as soon as i get the cash. I am giving this a 8 just because the pickups were not really what i was looking for.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Since i got this guitar used i am not sure how well it was set up at the factory but when i got the guitar the action was a little to high for me so i lowered it. Since i got it used it had the basic wear and tear like dents, scratches and dings nothing i couldn't live with though, the frets were laid perfect. I am giving this a 9 because i had to adjust the action and it had some dents, by the way the finish is ebony with creme colored binding it a really beautiful guitar all of you who own one you should know and the people who don't own one you would have to see it to believe it.

I have not played this guitar live but i am postive that it will withstand live playing, the hardware looks like it will last but like i said i will be replacing the tuners with sperzels since i am one that doesn't like to tune everyday. When i got it it had strap locks on it they were the leather kind they seem to work really good, i don't know what the original strap buttons were like, i'm pretty sure you could depond on it in any situation the thing is built like a sherman tank it ways a ton, you could use it without a backup but i would bring an extra axe just to be on the safe side. I am not rating this category because i have not gigged with it live only time can tell if it will with stand live playing.

I have been playing since i was eleven i am now fifteen, i also own an 80's model peavey predater, a rogue sx100b bass, and a fender p-bass, and an acoustic guitar, and i have a mandolin. If it were stolen or lost chances are i wouldn't be able to find it again but if i did i would hunt down the idiot who stole it and beat him on the head a couple of times with it and let him see how heavy it is. I bet he would think twice about stealing from me. The main reason i love this guitar is that its like a les paul i have always wanted one since i started playing but couldn't afford one, another thing i like about it is the sound, i compared the bently sound to my dads friends gibson les paul custom mine sounded a lot better than his he is now looking for a bently. I did compare it to a danelectro innuendo but it was way to lite and i didn't have the extra cash to get it, if anyone out there owns a bently series 10 les paul copy please e-mail me at burntbass2005@yahoo.com maybe we can exchange tech tips or something.

I have a Bently series 10 Flying V, I like it better then my 67 Gibson V with a Floyd Rose. It was good right out of the second hand rack at in WV.I paid 179 dollars for it! I also previously had a Red transparent Series 10 Les Paul copy,I paid 135 dollars for it. It was also a very fine Guitar, better then my 84 Les Paul Custom. Gibson could learn a few lessions about finish from Bently. The paint work was excelent on both axes,It was even dry before thay sold it!yes I call them Axes!I found that if you clean the imput jax on the Guitars thay perform perfectly.I did modify the V, I added a center PU and a roller bridge(Fender W/tremelo) I also replaced the neck with a strat maple and Top notch Fender tuners. Then I put a Superflake Red paint job on it! I still have the stock neck,It had no problems I would even say it was Hot,Medium/Jumbo frets with rosewood.I just perfer maple. It sounded great stock so I still use the stock PUs, I added a Dimarzio in the middle/bar type humbucker.I couldent be any happier,do you know anybody selling a Series 10 Flying V. I'll buy it. E-mail me at( mattis777@yahoo.com ) I gave my les paul away to a friend and Im trying to buy back The Series 10 Les Paul from the woman I sold it to,at this point she refuses to sell it!. My Gibson V is up for sale too, the strat is already gone.I have owned a lot of Guitars 64ES175 Gibson,Kay Jag-two of then,Other Les paul copies,Fenders,84and95 Gibson Les Pauls and a 2001 Gibson Flying V,You can have them all,I pefer to have a bently!!!!!!!!!Quality not price!!!!!Who says you Get what you pay for,not true! Fender Jap strat would be my second choice.I wouldent give you two cents for a new Gibson,Its Crap!!!!!!!So are most of Gibsons dealers-Pig Heads!!! Oh Yeah Bently could also teach Gibson about reasonable action and Guitar set up! I have never seen a better neck then on the Series 10 Bently Les Paul-Supreme and Consitant!!!!The solid Maple Top was also very attractive-not 3 mis matched pieces Like my Gibsons. I Give Bently an A for Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Id have to check the number to find what year it is,Im not sure.

I play all styles that I like- Metal to 50,60s Rock and I even worship Jesus with it! I use 2 Peavey 120 Tube amps and a Sovtek Mig 100 Tube amp ,all at once -tri-amp with seven effects. My Tube Amps Hum so Loud that noise is not a factor. The sound is sweet as a bird in flight on rythem, in the middle with all 3 pick ups its a Caddilac crusing the Hi-Way in the rear Lead with the center pick up wired into the back,Its Vegas Strip in a convertable,Thay dont wire it like most Vs and it allows more tone control,A problem with my Gibson V it has very limited tone, but a good overall sound, but not worth what it cost,Orvell Gibson would cry if he red this! He diddent build the kind of crap Gibson sells today. The Bently V overall makes every sound I want it to,It has replaced all my other Guitars,Even my SG Gibson customized with 3 PUs and 24 frets,I still pefer to play the Bently. It has literally barried all my other custom Axes!!!!!!

Set up was Good on both Axes, The only thing not good was the plating on the tail, but that may not of been cleaned by the first owner,I just dont know. All the fitting was good even the neck had very large screws holding it on,it does not come loose like most bolt ons.The fret work was very good.I think the tail piece was just normal wear actually. The pick up on the les paul had one weak spring on it that had to be adjusted once a week, tightened, under severe playing.Other then that Just to clean the input jax upon purchase.

It Has. If you dont drop it too many times the hardware can hang. The stock Finishes are very good,I do custom laquer painting,The sunbursts and transparents are Top Notch! I still have the stock stap buttions on my Flying V- thay work fine and stay tight.I always have a back-up Guitar, only a fool trusts wire and solder totally! But it has never let me down to this point! Other Guitars have, and if you dont have a back-up dont complain if thay hand you a 1962 sears electric! I have experienced that nightmare before,Its like shock treatment!Always have a back-up,just find yourself another Fine Bently Guitar-Dont be a fool and pass it up!

I've owned a lot of guitars..Strats to Rick basses and lots of crap too. I picked this thing up at a local flea market for $80 cuz it looked to be in decent shape. After getting it home I started to rebuild it ( although the action and sound weren't bad at all). The factory buckers were replaced with Golden Age units from Stewart MacDonald along with the tuners, tune-a-matic and stopbar tail piece. The body appears to be plywood. although the top has a carved shape under a good looking black paint job. The neck is real fast and thinner than a Paul with a 25" scale and 22 nicely shaped fat frets. With the addition of the new bridge and a set of Grover "Kluson Style" tuners, the guitar really stays in tune, even after really digging into it. Intonation is not a problem. So for the initial price and the additional goodies ( all purchased through Stew-Mac) I have a sweet playing and great sounding axe for under $250!

The moment I saw my guitar in the store, I fell in love. I bought my series 10 for only $150. It was made in Korea, but it is the best guitar I've played for years. I can't beleive how the cheap guitar's big turn buckle pickups give it a rich and full tone. My dad payed over $500 for his electric, and he agrees that my Series 10 sounds better. I don't know why everyone is giving them bad reviews here? Perhaps you would pay extra money for a shirt if it said "Tommy Hellbanger" on it. As for me, I'll stick with my cheap and practical guitar, proudly displaying the series 10 logo at all my concerts. P.S. I also drink "The Beast"

I play good music. This means I use more than 5th's and 4th's in my music. There are plenty of 7th chords and suspensions. These chords sound great with the rich sound of a series 10 guitar. In addition, the thing stays in tune suprisingly well. This means I don't have a bunch of bad sounding major 7th chords. (When they are out of tune, it shows)

Not only does it sound good for what I payed, but it is stunning to look at. It has a buetiful red and orange finish. This guitar allows you to adjust the angle of the strings, in respects to the bridge, with an adjustment doohicky at the bottom if you are not not satisfied with that.

I have had this BASS for a couple of years and i dont want to make it sound like "its horrible" or "its cheap" its a great guitar IF you replace the pickups, wiring etc. and buy new strings. Mine is like a Fender P-Bass setup, 21 frets with typical 2pickups (one for E&A the other for D&G) and a large pickup for all strings (near bottom) thats like the one on the Fender P-Bass 5 string same type of setup but with 3 nobs, i dont know what for because the previous owner thought he was an electrical genius and screwed up the wiring, but i think its 2 volume(for top and bottom pickups) and 1 tone
as for the body ITS GREAT one word could sumerize it up SOLID, ive banged it around so much and its still in great shape, its REALLY HEAVEY though because its a multiple ply body with a maple neck, it gave me a neck cramp the first time i played it
Sound
:
7
Is great for the school performances i do because my school doesnt have an acoustic bass so my bass gives a very acoustic sound without giving the metal tone off the strings, but other than that very hard to play, but if you work at it and go to a good bass its so easy, so its a good beginner bass. though it does have a litlle too much feedback so I sugest TO REPLACE ALL ELECTRICAL PARTS because the stock ones are crap, its a good idea since its a good body, i am using a WOLF amp (8in, 50watts) it doesnt sound that great, but ive used an old Peavey at school (15in 200 watts) and sounds much better, so part of my problem is the amp because a great feature thats not to good on a low powered amp is it gives a VERY DEEP bass sound but on the other hand with the bottom pickup it sounds very metalic, but it buzzes like crazy, way too much feedback with the bottom pickup
so all in all if you get new strings and new parts it will osund a lot better, which im planning to do, ive replaced the nobs and strings but not pickups yet
so i give it 7
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
7
i give it a 9 on the body as told why in my other paragraphs its VERY SOLID, its got bad factory pickups and wiring(6). nice paint job which deserves an 8
if you refurbish it it is a good beginner bass, but for the more experienced its great for playing hard because it can take it, so i give it 7 in playability

ive played this bass in a couple performances, and it broke once because of my bad wiring job, but it worked great for Musicals that i played in, i dont know about performing all the time because ive been rewiring it scince i got it and now that ive just recently figure out how to wire it correctly i dont know how it would hold up, but it is a VERY STURDY bass and it has lasted at least 7 years and hte neck has never needed an ajustment and it is solid so if i dropp it or bang it around i know it will still be in one peice

I posted earlier...I was the one who rated it with all ones... I'd would like to explain why i gave it such a bad rating...At the time it was the only guitar i had and i just hated it... I had really outgrown the guitar and i needed a new one...well i bought a fender mex. strat for $200 and now that i don't have to constanly play the bently, it does not bother me as much as it used to...

Got this thing third hand. I thought it was funny looking at first, but have come to like it. I think it was made in the late 80's. It looks like metallica's singer's guitar on the new video except it's got a V-body on the lower half. It was bright white but has yellowed. It's from Korea, 21 frets, 1 vol, 1 tone, 1 humbucker. Cheap factory pickup. not sure of neck wood, but it has the dark maple inlay, plywood body, and a cheap whammy bridge. I like it because it plays well, has quite high output, and stopped breaking my 1st string. Nice metalic twangy tone to the humbucker. I keep it close to the strings to get a good punch out of it.

Been playing a lot of distortion/fuzz effects with it. it also sounds good played clean. I made my own cord, and it has virtually no noise. love having the tone set low for good emphasis on low notes. Been using a crate 10 or something. I want to do a full rewire since the vol pot makes some click like static near zero. I think it is a good guitar, and plays good punk tunes.

One problem is I need to replace the saddles, and the nut. the neck is good and straight, but I need to replace the worn frets. was a bit sdirty inside and out, but I did a good cleaning job, and it works even better. Need new bridge screws, though. 2 are almost totally stripped. When I got it, the B string tuner skipped teeth so it was almost impossible to tune. I just took it apart, bent the base, and it worked.

I wish I had better, but this one is good enough for now. I'm going to invest in a good amp, then get another guitar. I like the odd shaping, which makes it unique. What it lacks in features, it makes up for in playability.

Gotta throw my 2 cents in on this one, since I read the other reviews. I owned one when I was 18. It was satin red finish, s-s-h, 5 way switch, 1 vol, 1 tone. Came with std. tremelo. I replaced with Floyd Rose and locking nut later on. STrat style.... sleek headstock, charvel style. Rosewood fretboard. Maple neck. 22 frets.. Bought it new for $200 with a chipboard case. THin neck. Plywood body. Basic tuners..

The pickups were semi microphonic... noisy. Used a Roland 10 wt. 8" speaker amp at the time... with a DOD Flanger. Bright sound. The humbucker had a quiet hum to it; the 2 singles buzzed like bees. Probably a bad wiring job at the factory.

Action was somewhat high... had to adjust the truss rod. Ok from there on out... Brand new but shipping dinged it a little, I think. Other wise, alright, great beginner's model..

How do you answer this? SOMe crappy guitars hold up longer than the owners, while some properly setup models fall apart on stage... Yes any guitar with proper care could last a gig. The hardware was basic but if homicidal urges were curtailed, you could play with it. Strap buttons; they fell off, I super glued 'em on again.

It was ok, I sold it a year later to pay rent... but it was alright. Other reviews seem to trash it, but mine was ok, maybe cause I treated it well. It's all relative... Basic Charvel copy, kinda cool one at that. Play metal, jazz, fusion, ballads, on it, held up well.. miss it kinda, but these ones were ( and still are in pawn shops) a dime a dozen..

Uh this is a really bad guitar. It was the first that i've owned and i've played others and it's just horrible. It's got 21 frets. I bought it brand new with a crappy like 15 watt amp for like 300 bucks. I bought it from a local music store. I think i really got ripped off. IT's your basic it cheap stat set up. The pick up config. is S/S/H. I'm pretty sure i bought it new. 1 volume/2 tone and a 5 way selector. It's really cheap i opened it up and it's just horrible. It's falling a apart. Like other's when i first got it was really tight. I couldn't even put it in tune without having a string break. It really sucked but as time has passed with a little adjustment by me it's gotten looser. It doens't break strings anymore but that's probaly cuz i've gotten better. But it really has no features

The sound what sound. It doesn't suit any style it's just for the beginer. Even as a beginner guitar it bad. The guitar isn't worth the money. On the high E sting on the six fret there's some kind of problem and it doesn't play the note. It's just like it's muted. It's strange and it sucks.

The action is okay i guess but that's probably because i'm so damn used to the piss of crap. The fret board is horrible it's rough and the wood is horrible quality.

I would never play this at a gig period with or without a back up unless i had to. I was in a band and we used it cuz the other guitar sting broke and it worked out okay. But the guitar that we were using was crap anyways. Squire strat clone. akkk. The strap butten need tightening. Two of the tuning keys are gone they fell off so i have to use pliers to tune the guitar. It's really falling apart.

Never dealt with them bought it in a shop but about 5 monthes after i got it the nut broke and i had to get it replaced. It sucked and it cost like 50 dollars to replace. It's just been a bunch of trouble.

I've been playing for over a year and a half. And it's okay for a begginer i guess. I've played it through a lot of different amps the one i play it through now is really nice. It's a peavie head with a soldano speaker. The guitar doesn't sound that bad through it but that's just because it's an expensive set up. I own a 40 watt crate amp. IT's okay throught that amp. I wished before buying this i would have known about guitars. i should have got it with my dad who has a les paul but well that didn't happen. If it was stolen i'd be happy cuz then i could get my mom to buy me another guitar. I already know what i want so it'd be easy. I've compared it with other guitars and the only guitar that comes close is the cheap squire that the guitarist used in an old band i was.

Five Way Selector. Maple neck. Plywood body (yes, plywood). Pickup config: S/S/H. Knife Edge Tremolo with fine tuners. Locking nut.

I play mostly hard rock and metal. The Humbucker has a pretty reasonable rock/metal tone when the volume and the tone are turned all they way up. The neck single coils are basically worthless. The Floyd Rose rip-off tremolo actually does a great job of staying in tune for such a cheap implementation.

Factory setup was decent. The neck is maple but it has a red finish which gives it a unique look. The plywood body is outrageously heavy, easily the heaviest guitar I've played.

It's probably too heavy to play live. But it is pretty indestructable I've owned it for around 14 years and it still looks pretty new.

I've been playing for about 15-16 years. I also have a home made Frankenstrat and PRS Custom 24. This instrument does not have the playability, versatility or tonality of the other two guitars, but it was insanely cheap compared to the other two also. As a reasonably priced beginning metal head's axe, it was great. Almost like if Charvel/Jackson (C/J was my young metalhead dream guitar) had made a 'Squier' series at the time I had purchased it, this is what it'd be. A good practice axe with a decent humbucker and tremolo for the young Warren DeMartini wannabe. If you're looking for a professional level instrument you'll have to look elsewhere and cough up the big bucks.

Still unsure as to the place it was made, I really need to research this more. Basic strat setup. S/S/S. Natural yellowing on the pickguard and older plastic parts (possibly the first owner was a smoker? :) and the neck is starting to wear from my own use --I guess i've been the longest user of this guitar so far. Looked a bit odd after I replaced some plastic parts with new ones but it evened out eventually. Candy Apple Red-ish finish

I reviewed this guitar close to a year ago and have since then gotten it checked out and some stuff fixed and the kinks worked out, everything works great now. Since then i've also dropped a lot of money on new gear which includes a new amp. My older solid state amp didn't do this guitar justice at all, it just made it sound really thin and generic. I played around with it through various tube amps and the tone of it just opened up. I currently play through a Fender Quad Reverb (loud). Even though I'm about to have a Fender Standard in my possesion, this guitar may do just as good (i need to make closer comparisons, but so far the action and the sound of it does not reach that of the standard). I got the whammy bar problem fixed (a previous owner had stuck some useless hardware inside the screw hole) and it no longer goes out of tune as often.

Normal dent, scratch & wear all from me and previous owners. I wonder how this felt right out of the factory, it was pretty tense when I got it and I played it like that for a year when I got it till i loosened the springs. Still a bit more tense then other strats i've played. I replaced small stuff like the selector cover and a new whammy bar screwed in and worked better than the old.

The minor fixes really did the trick for this guitar. It hardly goes out of tune now when I use the whammy. Things feel a lot more stable also. It's about to become the alternating main guitar with another strat that I'm getting, but I'm sure i'll still be using it.
Carrying it in a gig-bag, not much to worry about --just make sure to take off the whammy before zipping the sucker up.

After about a year, some repairs, and a brand new amp; this guitar opened up and sounds great. Compared to others, the action could still be better.
Great deal for being $70 and a first electric. It compares well with the fender gear i've been trying out currently.
Now that things are more stable feeling, i'm a lot more comfortable with it in performance, it has yet to fail on me during a practice or a small performance -- and i don't see why it would now. A quick-tune device should be kept around though when you are mobile with this guitar, it still goes out of tune frequently when not in use.
If it were stolen now, it wouldn't be such a big loss... but you get to see the true value of your first guitar after playing a lot of other stuff --it just feels familiar.
i'm thinking someday of getting floyd rose bridge installed, just a thought --an expensive thought though.
If anyone has any further info on this guitar or the Bently company etc etc, please contact me, i'd like to know more about this guitar.

I have no clue when/where it was made. It sports a 21 fret setup. Laminated Top. Controls: General Volume, And two other knobs for volumes on the frets. A 5-way selector. Your basic strat setup I couldn't tell you the model of the pickups. Maple Neck.

Ok, first of all, i've come to love using the whammy bar... unfortunately my bar frequently comes off (previous owner didnt like it much and decided to remove it before he sold it to me, and now im stuck with one that falls out all the time). This is the gutiar I like to practice leads on, and it works out nicely. I use it with the basic beginners setup (leftover cos im broke) which includes a crate amp, Boss DS-1 dist., VOX wah, DOD FX75 flanger, Dunlop Rotovibe. I get really no noise, except for the usual hum from the single coil setup, it's pretty quiet. A nice full sound on most of the pickup setttings, although you can tell that it's generic. This is pretty much my only guitar right now, with the capabilities to sound pretty decent, I don't get too much variety out of it unless I mess around with my tone and really screw with everything. I hate the fact that my whammy bar is screwy (i need to get it fixed), and using it frequently puts the guitar out of tune.

When I got it, about 3-4 years ago, it's action was very tense and I had a hard time learning to play on it (although previously learning on an accoustic with even tenser action helped). I eventually loosened the springs, so now the action is just fine. I had to djust the pickups many times to my liking. Everything seems to be setup right, since i've had it, about 30 people have looked at it and examined it briefly and said they thought it was a nice, decent one. Unfortunately the bridge, in the last 2 years, has come out of alignment and awaits repair. It's got the average dent and scratch that happens to a guitar that were on t when i got it and before I got it.

I wouldn't play this thing live (and I have, it went out of tune at the worst time after using a kyser capo on it). I really need to get everything fixed before I rely on it again. The finish, is lasting (it gets banged around often). Strap buttons are good, jsut get a good strap or pay the price. I'm stuck with this guitar, and only this guitar until I get my jazzmaster (or Jaguar... possibly a mustang). Till then i'm just going to get it repaired and will use it with care, although wouldn't consider playing a gig without the help of a borrowed guitar.

This was my first guitar and since then i've been able to play different ones now and then. It's lasted me almost 4 years and i expect it to last a few more (unless I sell it to another beginning guitarist). I was really in a budget strain when I got it, but I don't regret buying it (cheap cheap cheap). Wish I'd known more about guitars before I got this one, otherwise I would've jsut bought a new Fender Squire for an extra $100. I'd never buy this guitar again, for one i woulnd't know where to buy one, and for another, i'd rather spend oney on something I would use for the long run and this isn't it. I love it for being my first guitar, i've gone from two fingered power chords, to a lot of intricate lead playing and it's never ceased to fail on me for any of that. I hate all the damn things that it needs to get fixed, but it's what's expected from a 3rd hand guitar for $70. It's tuning is unstable when the whammy bar is used. In the condition I got it, i'd assume it had become a strat for beginners with not a lot of $$. I'd love to have used this thing brand new, probably would enhance the way it plays by 3. Overall i'd say for a generic strat, it ain't so bad.

The bass is a joke. The neck is made out of 4 pieces of wood glued togather. All of the strings bang against the fret board no matter how you set the action. It is set up in your everyday P bass style with two knobs. One for volume and one for tone. the body is made out of a thick plywood and has a Fender P-bass style to it. It does have a fairly interesting paint job though...

the whole thing is frightening. Maybe it was good at one point(I doubt it) but then it must've ben hit by a truck. Sounds like a four sting guitar that won't stay in tune. It does work, so i have to give it a little credit.
