I don't know the year it was made but the serial # starts with a 9. It says "Switzerland" in 3 places , the neck plate, the headstock and on the body wood in the neck pocket. It features a switchable active pick-up circuit. Ebony fingerboard ,a see thru burgandy finish with a sen-ash body(?)and matching color neck and head stock. A mirrored pickguard that was torn by a guitar shop by accident while in for service. Stepped height spertzel tuners with locking pins. A spring loaded string tee. A great whammy bridge with string rollers. Real pearl fret markers. Three stacked single coil sized humbucking pick-ups. One volume one tone control. Graphite nut. Flush routed trem cover.5 way switch . Strat style.

A pro quality instrument. Country, pop, rock all styles work. The neck is a little thin for my tastes.

After buying a Les Paul and fitting it with EMG's and doing the heavy rock thing for a while, it just shows me what a versatile guitar the blade is. I changed the pickups out to a set of Chris Kinman Passive S/Coils, and wow! it sounds as good at it plays and looks. No good for Heavy Metal maybe but everything else easy. Kinmans have a sweet balanced tone with a huge dynamic range. (I must sound like a rep for Kinmans, but the are awsome.

I've had the Guitar for about 10 years, and had the frets dressed once. Action and neck are awsome, I will never sell this axe. Finish is great, even after 10 yrs.

No troubled but the loss of a sperzel locking pin.
Take it to gigs without backups, think I've probably broken 4 strings in 10 years.
Strap locks are a must though!!!

I have been playing for about 13yrs. I will need a guitar with a Humbucker though. either mod the Blade with an SD, or buy my mates G&L Climax.
I love this guitar, plaed through my 50w JCM900, Seymour Duncan 100w Convertable and Mesa Boogie Nomad 55.
