The tonal range of this guitar is unparalleled...I mainly play a Fusion of Rock&Jazz etc and this guitar is perfectly suited for my style and it is effortless to play. I'm running it into a Diezel VH4S Stereo Head with Mesa Stereo cabs Celestion Vintage 30 Speakers and a TC Electronics G-Force Processor. The tone is thick and full of vibrant harmonics. The C90P.13 will sound like a Les Paul or a Strat and anything in between a very versatile guitar for Studio Work.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I build guitars so I know what goes into the making of a fine instrument...That being said the Brian Moore C90P.13 delivers everything expected from a High End Guitar. The Mahogany body is gorgeous with beautiful grain pattern and the 5A Quilt Top is absolutely stunning to behold. The neck joint is as tight as it gets and the action is amazingly low with NO buzzing what so ever. The Seymour Duncan pick-ups sound tremendous on this guitar. The Wilkinson Tremolo works beautifully.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Like I said before this instrument is precision built it is as solid as it gets utilizing the finest components. The only draw backs that this guitar has is that it is so beautiful I'm afraid of ******* it up...

Customer Support : 10
I've spoken to Patrick G. Cummings
President/CEO of the company and one of the builders and they were awesome..

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for over 30yrs and I own a lot of High End guitars but my Brian Moore's are in a League of their own. If they were stolen I would hunt you down and melt your skull.

Made in 1998. Quilted maple top, Alder body (special order), Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Tune-o-matic bridge, JB Bridge, Dimarzio Air Zone neck (from the factory). 22 fret neck. Coo

Sperzels, RMC bridge, and 13 pin midi electronics.

Most versatile guitar I've ever played, and I've played and owned many...

Sound : 9
Just great - admittedly I play 98% of the time on the bridge pickup, but the other tones are effective and useful as well. Lots of punch with the JB.

This guitar is a perfect match with my amp, a heavily modded 66 blackface deluxe.

Clean and dirty tones are tight - tones tend towards the brighter side. It's interesting to note that the unplugged sounds don't give a clue as to what it's like plugged in. Unplugged = small/dull, plugged = big, lively, punchy.

Piezo's sound fine, but I never use them. I do use the RMC 13 pin midi part ALOT, and it works fabulously well.

This guitar is my #1. I also own a vintage LP, a vintage strat, and various other excellent guitars. I love them all, but this is the one I reach for first - it's been that way for nearly 10 years.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
What you would expect from a handmade instruments (even though there is some CNC magic involved in this case). Neck is as good as it gets, finish was terrific, fret work was excellent from the factory. There were some minor minor issues (e.g., some file marks on the fretboard) but nothing to get spooked over.

As good as I've seen.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've used this live without backup (who started using this line? who actually takes a backup to a gig? Not the working pros...) for nearly 10 years. It's been my workhorse and still looks practically new.

Customer Support : 10
They were excellent. Now they are essentially no more. Custom shop is gone, what a shame - these guys were on to something special.

Pat Cummings and his crew were terrific to deal with. I am/was one of their artists, and they treated me extremely well.

Overall Rating : 10
I don't give out the 10's lightly. This guitar is a treat to play and own.

I play professionally - and have been playing for over 30 years. This guitar is a treasure, and I can't understand why they don't retain their value in the used market - possibly it's related to the iGuitar line, which is cool but not in the same category as the US custom shop guitars. These guitars are EASILY in the same category as Tom Anderson, Suhr, PRS, etc. It's a gourmet, boutique guitar experience without question, and I'm at a loss to explain why they have changed direction - they had hit on a recipe that clicked on all levels, and it's a shame that more people won't get the chance to experience this Ferrari of a guitar. No exaggeration.

This guitar is a modern variation on a Stratocaster. Made in upstate New York. It has a solid mahogany body, bookmatched solid maple top, birdseye maple neck. The neck has 22 frets and a 15" radious. Finish is a slight light brown burst that Brian Moore calls cinnamon over a beautiful tiger striped flame top.

HSH Duncan pickup configuration with a Piezo bridge for acoustic and synth control (on a 13 pin Roland style jack). JB model in the bridge, a Alnico APH-1 in the neck and a APS-2 in the middle. Volume, tone and five way switch for the magnetic pickups. Volume for acoustic piezo. Volume, up/down control and synth/guitar selection for the 13 pin jack. Sperzel locking tuners with a Wilkinson Tremolo bridge. Included Hardshell case, stereo Y cable for magnetics and piezo.

I sort of 90's high tech strat electronically with a very vintage style body and neck.

I did rewire the guitar so that the piezo goes down the 13 pin to the synth instead of the normal magnetic pickups. I've found using the 13-Pin with higher gain sounds is too noisey and prefer using a seperate cable. Also, it was more convenient for me for sending the piezo and synth to the P.A. or acoustic amp.

Sound : 9
For what I wanted this guitar for, providing electric acoustic and synth access, it is great. It is sort of in between a strat and SG in sound leaning toward the strat (probably due to the bolt on maple neck). When used through a few effects and a tube amp, this guitar has a nice personality with the magnetic pickups. It is rocky, a little bright but can get mellow on the neck pickup. It truly has its own vibe, which is great.

Running the 'acoustic' sound to a P.A. gives a nice credible sound. Not as quacky as most piezos, but not as totally satisfying as a Taylor or nice Martin, but no second guitar either! Actually better sounding than many of the cheaper electric/acoutics.

Synth tracking is very good.

This guitar can cover a lot of ground. ALl the sounds are very credible and useful. No it doesn't sound exactly like a strat or Les Paul or PRS. It has it's own voice and is very cool.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought it used, but you'd never know it. It was in perfect shape.

The actual workmanship on the guitar is flawless. You definitely get what you pay for. The woods are all very pretty.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Like all guitars with a lot of electronics inside, it will need some maintenance. However, the build quality is great so I have no fears of it letting me down.

Customer Support : 8
Haven't dealt with the company, but the web site is very well done with a lot of great info.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 30 years. I own a lot of other guitars, including a Clapton Strat, PRS McCarty and Custom 22 and some others.

I really like the quality of this guitar. The neck is a little thinner than I normally go for, but I'm getting used to it.

I compared this to Godins and the build quality of the Brian Moore is a lot higher (but you do pay for it). The Godins are very nice, but the Moore uses nicer woods. Go play both and decide for yourself.

I bought this to augment what I've already got and do the Electric/Acoutic/Synth thing and it does that very well. I still love my PRSs dearly but this guitar is also winning me over. Fortunately I don't have to choose, so I'll play each guitar for their strengths.

The Brian Moore CP series is definitely a very high quality guitar with a lot of value for the money.

2004 BMG USA Custom Shop, Quilt top Coral Reef finish. Hum/Single/Hum w/Piezo and Roland 13-pin syth slot. Matching headstock and hardshell case w/goodies. 5 way selector w/coil tap, so 7 combos.

Sound : 10
Play blues, rock, jazz and some folk. Using an Ampeg VH140c and a Tech 21 Trademark 10 depending on the situation. Processing through an ART SGX Express 2000. The SD's sound great and with a 5 way switch/coil tap, gives a variety of sounds. Haven't used the 13 pin option yet, as still bleeding $$$ on this guitar, but will get there with a Roland GR-33. The piezo sounds incredible, and I personally wouldn't have one of these BMG Custom's without it. If you are going to blow the $$$, do it up right. If I bought another (everyone would like a stable of these to choose from, right?), could skip the 13 pin since I have it on this one, but not the piezo.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up masterfully with Elixir 9's from the factory. Would love to have had some custom fretboard inlays, but maybe another day... Guitar is absolutely gorgeous. This one is only for home studio and maybe a small trip to a friend's house. I couldn't imagine gigging with this unless you are a national act with $$$$ to have the stable of these.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It would hold up to gigging, but just too beautiful for the hard life on the road. I would gig without a backup if needed.

Customer Support : 10
I get response via email within 24 hours. Smaller companies seem to have SOO much better customer support. I hope they don't get much bigger, as I am sure it will be tough to maintin the high level they have now.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 20 years and is absolutely the finest guitar I have ever played. Decided to give myself this gift and now will start selling all my other 6 string electrics, as I can't imagine wanting to pick up any other guitar. Only thing I would change would be 24 frets (instead of 22) and have some custom inlays, but then would up the price quite a bit. My buddy and I are still blown away from Friday's little jam session with this gem! (He gets to "baby sit" it when I am on vacation!)

I call this one my 'Swiss Army knife' guitar. Mine is a 2002 Custom Shop guitar, hum/single/hum setup, spalted maple top (looks a little like marble), mahogany body, Wilkinson trem, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, piezo pickup (stereo out like a Parker), Roland 13-pin synth pickup. 5 way knife selector w/split coil gets 7 different combos. It really does go from Strat to LP and in-between.

Sound : 10
I have way too many guitars as it is (I'm not complaining, mind you) but I play on Sundays with a church band on a tiny stage. Didn't want to switch between electric and acoustic so I got a Parker initially (which was fine), but sold it when I found this one in a local shop. I use a Mesa Boogie DC-3 for mag pickups and a SWR Strawberry Blonde for the piezo. Usually use both pickups together, but switch back and forth on certain songs. Had a chance to play through a Marshall Mode 4 recently and this thing sounds incredible cranked.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Only things I would have gotten on a model I designed would be a maple fretboard (personal preference) and less-flashy hardware (this one has gold- I feel like I'm driving a pimp-mobile). The neck could be wider, although it's a dream to play. But it is beautiful and just about flawless. I got a good deal on it from a dealer I've known since I was a kid, so I'm not complaining. Only one problem. The high-E nut slot wasn't cut deep enough so it sounded like a sitar until I deepened it. BMG did get back to me, though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Personally, I wouldn't use this on a regular commercial gig. It's too pretty- someone's gonna walk off with it. But it works great for my limited use at the church, and I'm sure it would be great playing it every night.

Customer Support : 9
Only had to contact them once, and they got back to me and were helpful- no problems there.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 30 years, non-professionally for the most part. I'm at a point where I collect guitars that are more art than function- this one fits that category. Everyone who sees it is blown away. If it were stolen, I'd probably order one completely custom with the insurance money, but yeah, I'd get another one. I got it because it was the only maker/model I've seen that had hum/single combo, tremelo, piezo and Roland pickups. Like I said, Swiss Army guitar.

2001 BMG Custom Shop with RMC Piezo and RMC Roland-Ready 13 pin and stereo cable which pretty much allows you to dial in a combination of synth, electric and acoustic sounds at will.

See BMG website for details.

Sound : 10
I bought this guitar after a burglary deprived me of my American Strat, my 26 year-old Guild D-40 and my Gibson '61 RI SG, hoping that this one guitar would be all of those. I played it through my Mesa Boogie Maverick. The tonal range of this guitar is unparalleled. The 5 way switch basically goes like this -

es-335 neck (with optional coil tap)/stratocaster (with optional humbucker)/les paul neck & bridge/telecaster/sg bridge

add the stunning piezo and then all the Roland stuff (GR-33 / VG-88) and you could never run out of sounds....

But for my style I decided ultimately that I needed the real thing and not an approximation. So I sold the C90P.13 so I could get a Gibson CS-336, and boy am I happy. I also bought a Gibson Sheryl Crow, because it is so much richer and nicer to hold than a piezo!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship. One mar on the fingerboard however (from the fretting process I assume)which really shouldn't have been allowed out of the factory on a $4,295 MSRP guitar IMHO.

Reliability/Durability : 10
a perfect 10

Customer Support : 8
A bit hard to get a hold of, a bit defensive, but basically great. Remember this is a mon and pop outfit stretched to the limits of human capability, not a monolithic corporation. They care, but they're stressed. (I guess NAMM was approaching when i discovered my marred fingerboard - I bought it mail -order)

Overall Rating : 9
Great impostor, but sometimes only the real deal will suffice. If you don't want to own an es-335, a strat, a Les Paul, a telecaster, and an SG as well as a Roland-Ready Godin - and you have some serious cash, this could be your ultimate tone factory.

Very pretty, possibly too pretty?!, AND VERY WELL BUILT.
