Brian Moore Guitars i2

Wish you could split the coils independently.. That would be rad. Also the 13 pin/ usp would kick ass, (cant fault this guitar cause its not that model. I want to see guitar manufacturers step up the controls manufacturing a bit. Plug in modules so they can be easily canfigured by the user for coil taps, kill switches, etc. Brian Morre guitars is taking a step in the direction of updating the tired 60 year old schematics of the electric guitar. We can go so much further though...

I play this guitar through an RFX65 by Crate (best DSP pratice amp ive seen), and a Tweed Fender Blues Jr Relic. I also play it through a Bos DR-880 rythem/modeling system... With these pickups and coil tapping the tonal possabilities are endless. I recently choose this guitar over my Guild Bluesbird! For those of you that are familiar with the Bluesbird you know what a big deal that is. Styles that this guitar will excel at are Jazz, BLues, Country, Classic Rock, Alt/Prog Rock, Metal, etc, etc. AN easier way to put it is you can play any genre with ease.

I bought this used so I will rate the ability to accept a proper setup. I have no reason to believe that with the attention to detail paid to the manufacturing of this guitar that it would have a poor setup. I set it up with d' adario .010's, adjusted the truss at .012" at the 8th, set action to 1.5mm at the 22nd (this is the spec for BM customs... Inotation was absoultly perfect. I mean perfect. No deviation from octave to actave at all... amazing. I will knooc this guitar for having frets that are not tapered at the ends... All and All this babyu is setup to play nice...

Solidly built. Cant see it falling apart even with abuse. PLus with the ergonomical design of the body it is less likely to get the bumbs and bruises of an old school shape..

Never had to call them. I am a firm believer in inocent until prooven guilty so they get a 10.. but dont P*&ss me off..LOL

I have been playing for 25 years and currently play a USA Tele thats built for blues. (Kinman broadcaster pups, glendale bridge, sounds amazing. I have a Bluesbird thats for sale due to the I2 (I2 can get cleaner than the bluesbird, and dirtier, its a no brainer). It cant to vintage muddy water blues tones like my tele... I will make this real clear. Its amazing to get to a point in your life where you tune out the bullshit about US guitars, strat guys, paul guys and realize that you are cheating yourself if you dont pick an instrument that suits your tonal, quality, and astetic needs. Open your mind and your music will benifit. I currently play a USA tele and a Korean Brian Moore. They both rock and I will put them against any guitar in any class period.

Flame maple top, kalantas mohaganey body and neck. Sperzel locking tuners. Seymour Duncan pick ups with split coil. Tune-O-Matic bridge. Everything on this guitar is top notch.

The sound is phenomenal. It ranges from the twang of a telecaster to closely approximating the warmth and thickness of a Les Paul (close, but not quite). I think all guitars should come with the push/pull coil tap option. Anything less would be getting a guitar with less versatility. I love the seymour duncans on this guitar. This guitar can handle anything from heavy rock to smooth jazz. My guitar friends have frequently commented on how great this guitar sounds.

I'm used to playing guitars with 25.5" scales. I needed a day or so to get used to the neck, which is 23 3/4". The neck also feels slightly wider than I'm used to. After a day or so, I've been falling head over heels for this guitar. The more I play, the more I love it. I'm playing licks with ease that I had difficulty with on other guitars. While personal factors I'm sure plays a significant part, I have to say it is one of the easiest, most comfortable guitars I've played.

I bought my i2 used. It is a 2001 model. However, this thing looks mint. The neck is perfectly straight, the frets are in great shape, and there is hardly any mark on the guitar. The electronics work without flaw. I think that speaks volumes about the guitar's durability.

Overall, a great guitar. Once I get some money together, I'm definitely going to look at a custom job. I've had two other guitar players tinker with my i2, and they love it. One has a Gibson, and the other has multiple guitars. Suffice it to say, they are both looking for Brian Moore's now. Unless I have a temporary lapse of reason or something, I can't see buying another guitar.

I bought my i2 used from a reputable shop that had sold it as a new guitar and taken it back in trade. It had been back at the shop for about three years according to what he told me. It's a 2001 model. Specs were identical to a new i2 and have been reviewed above.

The headstock/position of tuners takes some getting used to, it has two on the bass side and four on the treble side of the guitar.

I play slow blues mostly, and it's fantastic for that. The neck and fretboard make it easy for an intermediate skill guitarist--feels like cheating when I try a Strat or go back to my Epiphone Dot.

I usually play through the humbuckers evenly set with a Fender Frontman 25R with a bit of distortion and reverb--gives a nice classic blues sound.

The neck/action is great. The other i2 I'd played before I bought mine belonged to my teacher and it was identical--the quality control must be excellent.

The top on mine is not bookmatched, but more of a quilted pattern, different one side vs. the other, but really nice to look at.

It is not a "FF" guitar, but it does have a little bit of the stain that must have been used on the body that flowed over to the binding on the treble side of the body in the cutaway. Must not have been noticed.

Hardware seems fine to me.

Everything seems rock solid. I'm careful with it but it seems to be worthy of gigging or carrying around. I took it on vacation with me (in it's hard case of course) without reservation.

I contacted them when I was considering this guitar vs. a "new old stock" 2003 model at the same shop, just to find out if the guitars built different years were the same. The customer service person (I think her name was Robin) got right back to me by email and seemed very nice.

Little finish flaw, otherwise seems perfect. Mine came with an Epiphone case made for a Les Paul and the i2 seems to fit perfectly.

I was interested in a lightweight guitar and this one comes in under eight pounds. It's also great to play sitting down due to the unique position of the output jack--for those who don't know, it's on the back of the guitar. The short scale is great for a lot of single note blues playing.

Amazing as said in other listings. The only thing this guitar is lacking, as opposed to newer or more expensive Brian Moore's is the USB and 13-pin jacks. But I don't need that stuff anyway.

Incredible! It's shameful, to be honest, but I wouldn't write anything in here unless I felt really strongly about a guitar. I would say that I can't reproduce a Les Paul sound as well as other people in this category claim, however, they are right that you can come very close. They are also right about the pull-option and duplicating a strat. For those Stevie-Ray fans out there, I feel I can come extremely close to his "No 1". Very unique, very pure.

Lowest action I ever saw in my life. Extremely easy to play... I may even raise it just a hair to go at it a tad bit mroe agressive.

It'd be hard to even get a pick scratch on this guitar due to it's contour. I'll give it an 8, just cause it's so good looking that I wouldn't want to be jumping around banging on it.

Limited Life Warranty...Basically covered unless you smash it or for normal wear and tear.

Awesome. I would have paid double, if not triple for this guitar. I did get an extremely good price since it had a "Finish Flaw" marked "FF" under the serial number. It also sat in a guitar store for 4 years untouched. The finish flaw is a tiny bit of discoloration near the second fret and possible a small crack in the finish on the bottom. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

2000 model. Sperzel locking tuners, Seymour Duncan Humbuckers including a Jeff Beck in the bridge, coil split push/pull switch. Mine has a gorgeous flame maple top in a vintage Cherry Sunburst, almost 3 dimensional. Comfortable thin profile neck with medium frets. Brian Moore case was included. Some screws in the hinges of the case were loose and I ended up replacing them with a more substantial sized screw which solved that problem (bought used).

I play a wide variety of music, but mostly jazz, rock, and blues. This guitar is amazingly versatile with the coil tap switch. I play through an Evans AE200 or Trace Elliot Bonneville C50 usually and this guitar sounds great through both amps. I can get a really sweet jazz tone that sounds crystal clear, yet has a lot of depth to it. It's easy to coax stratish or tele sounds from it with the coils split, and 335'ish sounds from the humbuckers. It definitely has it's own vibe and doesn't sound exactly like a Gibson or Fender. Running through a Barber Burn Unit, I get a great singing sustain, the notes always sound articulate and clear.

The finsih on this guitar is superb, absolutely flawless. Construction is top notch, no complaints at all.

I alsways have a backup guitar, but this guitar would easily withstand gigging. Definitely dependable.

Never dealt with them personally, but supposedly very responsive and easy to deal with.

I've been playing 40 years. I play in a jazz trio as well as a rock/blues band. I also own a Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion II which I love, but lately, it seems like this is the guitar I always pickup. FWIW, last gig I brought both guitars and ended up playing the I2 all night. I get a lot of compliments on the tone and looks of the guitar. I would definitely buy another Brian Moore. I've owned 2 PRS Custom 24's and a Gibson LP DC Standard, and this guitar is as good as the PRS's and blows away the Gibson LP DC Standard. Awesome bang for the buck, and probably the best Korean guitar made.

this guitar has a quilted maple top, sunburst finish strat/PRS style
style body. duncan pickups, coil tap, piezo bridge pickup 22 frets
locking sparzel tunners, a very nice brian moore case and they included a 60.00 sterio cable

the sound is very versitle it can sound alot like a strat or a prs
even a les paul but a little thinner because the body is thinner
but the JB/ alnico duncan pick ups are very clear and powerful
when coil split the sound very authentic especially with a clean tone
with some chorus and delay
i use a line six set up with a boss eq and a boss ds2 box I love it

the fit and finish is really great I love the sunburst maple top real nice cut of wood the set up was perfect I made a small adjustment and it is now my favorite guitar to play. the neck is slim and fast the frets are slightly bigger so they take less pressure to play, I can go much faster on this than my epi les paul which by the way i change the pick ups to duncans to match, and that guitar sounds amazing too.

I have been playing for over 20 years stopped for a while, grew up then got into some money and decided to get back into it again. So my quest for the perfect instrument began, bought 2 schecters, returned both, bought a les paul special and a les paul studio returned them bought a PRS ce24 returned that and then found the i2 brian moore All the reviews on this instrument i have read are right on I looked for any reason to return this guitar and found none it's perfect

Sounds smokin'. I have a really good Paul and a really good Tele, so the following comparisons will be based on that. To my ears, it sits somewhere between a Paul and a Tele, favoring the Paul. The first thing that really impressed me was that with the controls in the flat "normal" position (vol & tone at 10 and pu select in the middle), the bass strings are much better defined than a Paul, and the treble strings are much fatter than a Tele. A really great combination of the two; sort of a Tele/Paul sound, but this guitar is really much more balanced than either my Paul or Tele. To go either way Tele or Paul, is no problem; I just tweak the controls. Dip the tone and/or volume control, instant Paul. Tap the pickups, instant Tele. Of course since it is neither a Paul or a Tele, it doesn't sound exactly like either. But it comes close, and the vibe it adds is fresh and lively. It's a traditionally voiced rock n' roll guitar, but it also puts it's own stamp on the genre. In addition to Paul/Tele sounds it does a good Jazz likeness too. Mike Stern or John Scofield tones run amuck. Sustain-wise, it kicks a Strat's butt, but is not quite as long as a Paul. The difference is pretty small, and you probably wouldn't notice it unless you sat around and did a serious A to B race to the finish. I think the tone and versitility of the i2 would quickly make you forgive the slight difference in sustain. In a word, awesome.

Faboulous finish. Cherry sunburst over a quilted maple top. You definitely have to see this in person to appreciate it because the Brian Moore web shot does not do it justice. The pic looks much too dark and fuzzy compared to the real thing. Actually, the in-person look is a crimson red around the edges fading to a sunrise yellow-orange middle. It's as good as it gets. The constuction is top notch as well. Every little detail was looked after from the perfectly crowned medium frets and neck upon which they sit, to the immaculate too low to believe (string height 1 mm at the 12th fret) setup. Yes, you read me right, 1 mm a the 12th fret! And no buzzes! That was just a little to low for me (I like to get a little finger under the string) so I bumped it up to 2/32".

Solid as a Hum-V.

Overall, it's gotta be a 10, right? No doubt. Hey, get one of these and blow the doors off your bandmates. Your other guitar player will wish he had your fingertip versitality as he fumbles with his stompboxes trying to keep up you. Really, it's amazing the range of tones sweet to raunch this axe can give you with just 2 pickups, 2 pots, and one selector. If I lost this guitar or it got stolen, I'd be SOL, 'cause my ol' lady broke my balls over this one. I guess I'd be puttin' in plenty of OT to get another one.

Oh man, quite possibly the sweetest Korean guitar ever..... stock Duncans with coil split, tune-o-matic stoptail, Sperzels, figured maple top, mahaogany body. And i got mine with the piezo output....maskes this as versatile as it gets. The mixture of piezo/magnetic is truly amazing.....sounds better than my Yari plugged in. The neck is nice and slim and the low action really lets you wail. Definetly the best guita i've owned yet.

I'm so ecclectic, a guitar thats as versatile as I am was a nightmare until i purchased this baby. I run through a Fender Deluxe 90, and i can crank from metal to blues and to some straty - tele twang country. The Duncans are just amazing, i run it through a Zoom 606 and DOD YGM overdrive and it cranks out the most unbeleivable metal tone. If you can define perfect, this is it. It can do the nasty, and back off smoothly too.

Buzz free all the way up the neck. Sweet even action all the way up the board. Flame finish is as sweet as can be, and mine being natural you can clearly see the woodgrain too, which just totally adds to its beauty. No flaws, no problems.

Definelty the first axe i pick up @ the gig, and the last one to put down. Never ever use any of my other guitars. Perfect finish and hardware glistens with a sparkle. Its got the looks and the finish to match to put on a great show.

No problems yet and I havent had to deal with them. When i was shopping i looked at brochures from local dealers, very descriptive and vivid.

Ive only been playing for a few years, but i do nothing elese. Ive had 8 or 9 guitars, and i'd sell em all if i lost my Brian Moore. Its is a top notch axe, beating the hell out of Gibsons/Fenders/ Gretches i played while shopping. All of the features really make it a primo guitar, even though it is Korean

Sounds as good as any guitar made. Very versitile. Go from Les Paul to Strat in a second. Tone and sustain are equal to any Gibson or PRS.

I own twelve guitars. Les Paul, Strat, Tele, Heritage 555, Nighthawk deluxe, Guild Manhatten, some acoustic-electrics, Taylor, and Martin.
The point is, when I go to play, I reach for my i2. The neck is perfect, the body is well balnced, the tone is superb. It's lightweight and plays like a dream. I have to rub my eyes and look again when I see the Made in Korea sticker. I have been playing for thirty five years and I've owned the best, and spared no cost when I've looked for improvement. I can hardly believe that my favorite guitar was not custom made or hand crafted in the US. This guitar defies all logic or tradition. I play it through a Mesa/Boogie Maverick and sound like Stevie Ray, or Mark Knoffler, or Clapton. I can't say enough about my delight with this guitar or the extent of surprise when I think about where it's from. Never in a million years did I think I would be playing a guitar built in Korea instead of a Gibson, PRS, or Fender. I just shake my head in disbelief..

Have not had any problems. Gold is starting to wear off, but I have a lot of acid in my skin. It is the least of my worries.

I lost a knob and the Rep. had one in my local music store within three days, no charge!

If I lost it, I would first cry, and then replace it right away.

New i2 - absolutely flawless product. Neck is straigt as can be - looked very closely at the guitar throughout and can't find a thing wrong. Has two SD gold covered pickups with a pull knob that transforms the guitar into single coil. Locking tuners work great -

Sounds very Les Paul if you wish - but pull the appropriate knob and it changes to a very Fender sounding guitar. It is amazing how close to the Fender sound this is. I personally don't think any two Fenders sound the same - and this guitar has its own personality - but it will do it all.

Flawless - and I sincerely mean it - nothing wrong with this guitar.

We use this only in the studio so travel is not an issue.

Had a question for tech support - emailed a question and got an email answer with contact info within 23 hours - enough said!! Only Rickenbacker is as good with their customers as far as I'm concerned.

Been playing over 30 years and have played everything. This ranks right up there with the best. Although it's Korean made, it beats out a US made Les Paul double cutaway I got rid of for this. The combination of sound, quality and company attitude make this an incredible investment.
