2 Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck humbuckers (both with a coil tap switch built into the volume and tone knobs), a highly figured maple top and fixed bridge with RMC Piezo for true acoustic tone. Regular Magnetic and Piezo Acoustic signals can be played separately or combined together for exciting new tonal possibilities.

Has its own sound. Can sound like a strat or Les Paul if you want. I like to play with Switches and pickups to get my own sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Great setup out of the box. I always like to tinker with pickups. Its a beautiful piece of wood with a high gloss cherry sunburst finish. I haven't found any flaw and have own it for almost a year. The neck is great it very much like a Randy Roades Custom Jackson(thin and fast).

Reliability/Durability : 9
I would have no problem using it live, very solid.

Unplugged, this Brian Moore has a very resonant, bell-like tone. I use a bunch of different tube amps, modeling amps, and such, and the guitar seems to have quite a unique voice. It does NOT sound like a Les Paul; more like an SG. Coil tapping works very well; easy to get some relatively convincing single-coil sounds. Nice to have each pickup able to be tapped separately; this opens up many more pickup combinations. Clean, the guitar sounds very clear and full. As distortion is added, it does a fairly good job of retaining clarity of notes even with highly overdriven power chords. Leads have a very open, musical tone and never get overly muddy. The ultra lightweight body provides good comfort for extended hours of playing. Unlike EVERYONE who's playing a Strat or Les Paul through a Marshall, The BM gives you your own unique sound. The finish is nice, my cherry sunburst looks very nice, and so far is pretty durable. Neck and frets are great; actually this is the nicest neck I?ve ever played.

2003 i8. Perfect shape when I got it. Features are what I was looking for; coil taping, solid bridge, Sperzel locking tuners. I love the Seymour Duncans. Others have complained about their brightness / harsh eq type sound, but they really sing and are warm if you have a good amp. The coil tap obviously drops a hair in volume and sounds a bit thinner..... clearly, as you now have a single coil in your signal chain. I have found this to be very useful and musical when changing styles live.

Suits my style perfectly. I like playing a lot of ACDC and Oasis and i can hit their tones wonderfully. I play a lot of soft rock as well and when using the single coils, it sounds fantastic. I use it with my Marshall JCM2000 DSL. Sounds great, its like the millenium strats, its just so great. Its VERY VERY versitile. I can go from great clean to great rock tones just like that *snaps finger* The only thing it cant do well is like thrash metal but i dont play thrash metal so thats fine by me.The JB gets a great rock tone. it cuts through very well and has BITE. I nailed Angus's tone with this lil bugger.

Pick this baby up! its light as a feather. Exactly what u need for a live gig, u heardly realise u have a piece of wood strapped on. The finish is rock solid, withstands scratches quite well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
If a little care is taken, I don't see why this wouldn't be great for a live gig. Hardware seems built to last. String through body + hard-tail + Sperzels= no tuning problems. I would definitely gig without a backup.

Very helpful!!

I've owned two strats and an Sg and this is my favorite. If it were stolen id get the insurance money and get another one. I love everything about it, its very comfortable. My favorite feature has gotta be the coil tapping, but i do love how it ACTUALLY STAYS IN TUNE UNLIKE MY OTHER GUITARS! I compared it to Les Paul studios and the Jackson RR5 and some teles and strats but i chose this one. definitely an awesome guitar.

This is an awsome guitar that is cherry sunburst with chrome hardware. The neck is to die for,it fast and sleek(important quality). Sperzel locking turners and red arch top with contour mahogany body that is very cool looking and comfortable. It has two passive seymour duncan jb humbucker that are very sweet with push/pull splits for single coil sound. I don't use the piezo very much but you can get a acoustic sound.

Sound : 9
Guitar sounds great as an acoustic and an electric. It has a great sound for jazz and softer sounds. If you add a distortion pedal you rip out the heavy metal. I have two amp a small 50 watt marshall and a peavey blues deluxe, too many pedal to list here.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I like everything about this guitar. I made a few adjustment after I got it but it was fine right out of the box(like to mess with everything I get). Like I said the neck is the best.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It seem pretty solid. I don't play out much anymore, but if I did this would be the guitar I'll take because it is light. My old back can take the heavy Les Pauls.

Never used them?

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing a long time and have own many guitars. I've owned a few expensive guitars and find that most aren't worth the extra cost. I owned fenders, dearmonds, gibsons,bc rich and yamaha's just to name a few. I owned many yamahas thur the years and think their the best bam for the buck! What I like about this guitar is the neck and that it's very light wieght. I wish instead of used the same pickups in the neck and bridge that they would have used some a little different in one of the spots. I don't like to give out 10's but I will this time. Yes I would buy it again. It doesn't have the bite of a lp standard but with the right pedal you can get it!

Bought in 2002 for under $800. They've jacked the price up to over $1000 now. Natural. 22 frets. Fixed Bridge Piezo. Seymour Duncans. Sperzel Locking Tuners. The locking tuners are wonderful and I can't do without them now. Only downside is that no 24 fret model is available. Otherwise it's the closest thing to perfection out there. (Roland jack available on another model). Very thin body and VERY light.

Sound : No Opinion
I got it for versatility and it delivered. Real Duncans sound good as usual. I have the same pickups in two other guitars. Can play anything from worship tunes at church to metal. Piezo is convincing and great for someone who doesn't want to haul an extra acoustic along. Has received approval from everyone I've let try it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Looks BEAUTIFUL. You can just sit there and look at it and be entertained. Found no flaws in the workmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I don't beat it against anything so its still in perfect condition. It fell off a stand once and is OK. As reliable as about anything else. Let's face it - you can really never gig without a backup BECAUSE YOU WILL BREAK A FRICKING STRING no matter how good the guitar is.

Customer Support : 9
I've emailed them begging for a 24 fret, fixed-bridge, piezo model and they have at least replied within a day or two. No other problems. By the way, no such model coming anytime soon.

Overall Rating : 9
Highly recommended. Better than any Fender or Gibson (Used to be good - now overpriced crap). Parker has a new model out which is supposed to correct some of the old pick-up problems that might be able to compete with the i8p, but it costs way more. I'll try to stick to Brian Moore and Jackson (unless they go to crap now that Fender owns them) or custom made guitars in the future. The only reason I give this a 9 instead of 10 is that they've jacked the price up since I bought it and I was thinking about getting a second one.
