On paper this thing is featured out the wazoo! Nice wood, piezo's, Roland 13 pin, Whammy, etc etc.... But the PU's are HORRIBLE and the guitar detunes after every whammy so I rate those as "negative features...."

Sound : 3
Like I mentioned... the PUs are HORRIBLE. I honestly do not understand how Brian Moore can put their name on them! I happened to have an SD bridge PU I took out of my other Brian Moore (i8.13) and popped it in this one, and that helped. I'll put an Alnico in the neck once I decide I REALLY want to keep this one....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The guitar plays very nice. I much prefer the neck geometry over my i8 (the i8 being very thin). The wood looks and fits very well exceot for one thing.... The guitar was supposed to be charcoal grey and it looks more like chocalate brown (which doesnt even come on this model). Under certain light, you can see a little grey in the grain, but believe me, this guitar is DARK BROWN! I have seen other charcoal grey look fantastic, I dont know what happened to this one?

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have had the guitar for a few months now but cant offer an opinion... but the switches feel flimsy and overall the electronics seem very cheap! Whether this will translate to failures under rough use I can only speculate. Even the input jack does not seem as robust as my other Brian Moore. It is fairly easy to get it to cut out by tourqueing the plug, but the placement of the jack somewhat mitigates that.

Customer Support : 5
I contacted Brian Moore about the color thing. They just said "thats the way some wood takes the finish." And told me to work through the retailer... I got a really good price on clearance and it was the last one... so I decided to keep it (for now). But they were very friendly and answered all my emails promptly.... Now had they helicoptered a new one and dropped it on my porch I'd give em a 10! lol!

Overall Rating : 4
Seriously... if youre thinking of this guitar, my best advice is save the extra $$ and get an i9 with SD PUs etc!

I have just purchased the guitar and have not had a chance to play it extensively.

This is a Chinese made guitar. The features were adequately described by the previous poster. Mine has the flame cinamon red bookmatched top. Generic Brian Moore passive pickups with RMC piezo and 13 pin RMC midi pickup. Mine does not have the new USB port. I found the neck to be rather small and ordinary. For the retail price they charge for this they could have put a better quality neck. It came with a gigbag, tools and the special stereo split cable to split the magnetic and peizo pickups. The recessed jack in the rear is a very nice touch. This is a very light guitar.

Sound : 7
With magnetic pickups the sound is a bit thin and trebly and very similar to a strat sound. That is, quacky, which I don't particularly care for. For the piezo I was a bit disappointed because it simply sounds like a generic peizo. I was expecting a bit of an improvment over older peizo's that I have. I like the RMC 13 pin midi and this was the main reason for purchasing this. This suits my musical very well as I play progressive rock and jazz oriented music.

The factory set-up of this guitar is a failure despite the inclusion of the check lists. I have to do a set-up from A thru Z on this. There were no flaws on the finish nor on the neck of any kind and I actually bought this as a blemished item. The reason for my bad score here is primarily for the location and installation of the truss rod screw. It is right where the neck pickup is and it is impossible for me to get the wrench in there to adjust it. I will have to remove the neck pick up in order to access the truss rod.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar seems reasonably durable but on the delicate side.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them directly.

I have been playing for 25 years and own alot of gear. If it were lost or stolen I would not buy it again. I wished I had checked the location of the truss rod access before buying it. I like the piezo and the midi pickup feature and the recessed rear jack. Other guitars I own are Strat, SG, Ibanez semi-hollow. I compared this to a Godin LGXT and brian moore's 81.13, 21.13.

2005 model, i1000 series (made in China).
Body :- Nato mahogany with flamed maple top. Natural finish. Modern Strat-style body but heavily-curved top surface and contours.
Neck :- maple with rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, medium width & shallow carve (perfect for smallish hands). 15" radius.
Hardware :- no-name H/S/H + piezo + synth output
non-locking iM branded tuners, Wilkinson tremolo (with RMC piezo saddles).
Mag volume + tone + 5-way selector, piezo volume, synth volume + mag/synth mix & patch up/down
piezo/mag 1/4" jack, 13-pin synth+mag jack

Bought second-hand from a shop but came with nice gig-bag, Y-cable

I bought this guitar to work with my GR-33 and it certainly does that - it's way better than the GK-2A I was using on my Strat, excellent tracking and no false triggering.

I'd give it a 10 for features except for the fact that the piezo can't be mixed with the mags on the guitar - apparently because only a full-range amp (PA) is good enough!

Sound : 9
I play a reasonable mix of stuff including Blues, jazz-rock, rock & pop.
I think this guitar sounds great - extremely versatile. It won't nail a Les Paul sound exactly but it covers just about everything else including strat & tele.
I play it into a Fender Deluxe for the mag side and a Johnson modelling amp for the piezo.
Only problem I have had is that there can be some mains hum because the Y-cable is joining the grounds of the 2 amps and, with the mains earth on each that forms a ground loop. Not sure how to fix that one.
The RMC synth output drives the GR-33 perfectly.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I bought this used but the previous owner obviously hadn't played it much and the setup was a little way off. Had to intonate it. Also found that the thing pinged like crazy when tuning and using the whammy - plus it wouldn't stay in tune with anything but gentle wobbles.
Turned out it was the hard plastic nut - so added some graphite from a pencil and now it stays in tune perfectly. I will replace the nut with a Trem-nut when I get around to it.
Also the machine heads weren't tightened down fully.
Neck relief was spot-on though and fret finish is good.
Finish is OK, actually very good for a chinese guitar. Not up there with a USA or Brit-made though.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Seems pretty well built. Only possible cause for concern is the scallop in the neck behind the nut doesn't leave much wood so this could be a weak point.
Not sure whether I'd gig it, mostly because the control layout isn't great, the whammy arm obscures the 5-way switch more than on a strat.

I've been playing 35 years and I own a Parker Fly Artist, Ibanez Artist (70s), Fender US Strat, Parker PM-20, Lightwave fretless bass and a few other odd and s*ds.
If it were stolen I'd probably buy either the I9.13 (next grade up) or maybe even the US made custom jobby - depends on what's in the piggy bank at the time.
