It was made in 2004. It has 24 frets no inlays except for the gold bat at the 12 fret. You get a volume and tone knob with a 3 way switch. It has 2 humbuckers. The sound quality is usually passive but if you have the right effects it is just awesome. Well it looks awesome and it has a bat body with the flame job of course. The bridge style is String-thru body. It has black tuners. It has a good neck the frets aren't to big or too small for my hands. You don't get any accessories though but if you need a case for it a bass case should do it

Very versatile piece of equipment because it is like I said passive I usually play Metal(Anthrax, Metallica), Rock(Led Zeppelin, AC/DC), Classical(Beethoven, Bach), Blues(Albert King, Muddy Waters, The Allman Brothers), and Coheed and Cambria well I guess that would fall under most of these catagories except classical. I usually play on a Fender Blues Junior, or a Crate. It all depends on the set up on your amp that determines your sound. You can get some cool souns on it not to good for pitch harmonics though but it can still do it. But the reason I like it is because you can get any sound with this because it is so passive

It plays great not like an Ibanez not like a Les Paul but right in the middle but closer to an Ibanez. Good Pick ups. Bridge was fine. No flaws so far except the input jack you will need to replace it but it will only cost about 10 bucks for a lifetime of enjoyment. Awesome finish with the flames and what not.

Yes the guitar will withstand live playing because I have used it on several ocassions and if you're a stage hog and want all eyes on you it is the guitar to play. The hardware seems fine for now. the finish will last like any other. the strap buttons are ok. I can depend on it. I would use it without a backup if all the songs I played were in the same tuning

No problems with SamAsh. Once for the plug. I could have got a warranty but I didn't have enough money. 4 repairs a year for 2 years

I've been playing for 3 years. The only competition is a Jackson I own(sorry typo in the last one). A better input jack replacement would have been nice. If it were stolen I would buy another one. I love everything that is in the review.I hate the factory input jack. my favorite feature is that it is passive. I didn't compare it with any other guitars. I choose this one because it was unique. I wish it had some EMGs maybe.

It has a black satan finish with a bat shaped body. Reminds me of the batman symbol sqeezed in and stretched vertically a bit. I'm a big batman fan so that makes it even cooler to me. I love the bat inlay on the 12th fret, the fullscale 24 fret neck, and the overall feel of the neck. I wish it did have more electronics in it though. At least one more pickup and a tone knob would be nice. But what it lacks in that it makes up for in style in my opinion.

It doesn't sound bad per-say but I have my doubts that it could handle death-rock or speed-rock. With some tweaking and a good amp, at the very least, and some determination though, I think this axe has major possibilities. To me it has a bright yet deep sound, but I can get tinny to thick sounds out of it just by technique -- I think this axe reflects a lot on how its being played. And it seems to be pretty responsive depending on the the type of strings you have on it. It seems really good with heavy gauge round wounds tuned in drop D.

I got this axe in a trade from a friend of mine. He got it brand new a couple of years ago and knew nothing about guitars. He had never had it 'set' and by the time I got it, the neck had a pretty fierce bow to it. To put it figuratively, you could shoot an arrow with it . . . and that made it pretty annoying to play. When I went to adjust the truss rod, the rod looked like it had just been set in there with no tightening whatsoever (guess 'Low Son' dropped his egg roll when this one came past him on the assembly line and didn't see it as he was picking up his lunch from the floor). After tightening it and putting a new set of heavy gauge round wounds on it, the necks as straight as an arrow and wow -- a totally different bass now. The neck is rather thin but not uncomfortably so. Its just wide enough and fits in my hand well. The bridge was set pretty low on it and it caused buzz. I kicked it up a bit and the action is clear with far less buzz from those big frets. That is one thing I do not like about it, the big frets. I'm debating on having them shaved. The finish on the body is a nice satan black. It picks up fingerprints really easy though and needs a daily wipe down. It also scratches fairly easily and Im a disaster with an axe in my hand when it comes to being graceful (in other words if I can hit it I somehow will) so I plan on wrapping the ends of it in black electrical tape (I noticed another reviewer did the same thing...and here I thought I was going to be original LOL). One thing I did notice on it though, the adjusting screws on the bridge are facing the back of the pickup, making it really hard to adjust...and the head of one of the scews is missing. Im going to have to either get the bridge replaced or get that one modified somehow and that screw replaced at the very least. My friend never abused this axe and I certainly haven't so the bridge defect has to have been a 'factory' screw up in my opinion.

The body seems soft to me and if you want to keep it in as original condition as possible, I would highly recommend wrapping as much of the body as possible in something. Im using electrical tape and will make it look like an Eddie VanHalen special. Might as well make a statement out of it in the process you know. I really like this axe and want to keep it as nice as possible so I will be taking precautions to keep it that way as much as I can. The volume knob seems rather fragile to me and I would recommend strap button locks for sure. I've already had the strap come off once while playing it. I feel this bass would hold up to a gig but not take a lot of abuse in the process. In other words, don't get rough with it! And it is a looker so if you want attention this is the axe to have in your hands. I have not had a problem with the finish rubbing off in any way and even with the fiercely bowed neck and damaged bridge it still played ok. I don't think anyone should not have a backup in a gig so I cant honestly say if I'd play it in a gig with no backup or not.

I got it from my friend and have no idea who made it. So customer support is not applicable. The work it needed I did myself and if I decide to have the electronics upgraded, I will pay a shop to do it so I really can't comment on customer support for it. I do not like the fact that the manufacturer is written no wheres on the axe so that is a big minus in my book. I would have no idea who to try and contact if I did try to get some customer support for it.

I played bass for 13 years then got out of it for about as much time. I've only recently gotten back into it and this Bat was the first thing Ive put my hands back on to get back into it. I am very pleased with it. Thinking back on the 3 basses I had before, its got one of the best necks I've dealt with (after I fixed it). The frets are a pain but I can get around it, or have them shaved. Blowing the rust off so to speak on my playing means Im kind of learning all over again and I'm doing so on this Bat. I can think of a lot worse basses to be getting back in shape on thats for sure. One of my other axes was a Peavey 24 fret T-40. If I compare that to the bat, the bat wins in weight and all around comfortableness. But the peavey wins in electronics and sound versitility in a heartbeat. If I compare the bat to the 1964 Gibson EBO, the EBO had a smoother neck but I actually like the feel of the bat better (thats not saying the EBO is nothing. I'd give almost anything to have it back again!!!). Probably because of the full scale neck where as my EBO didn't have it. I love the body on the Bat. When my friend showed it to my I fell in absolute love with it and was determined to either buy it from him or trade for it. If something tragic ever happened to this axe, I wouldn't stop till I had another one. This bass, at least for me, is a keeper!!! Someday I may upgrade its electronics cause its pretty bare in that aspect. But that in itself has an appeal to it in its own way. This bass is a nice simple instrument that it well worth the $180 I put out (in the trade) for it. I can see though where this bass wouldn't satisfy everyone.

I cant remember when The Bat was made but I can tell you it was made in the US. And, like everyone else, I bought this light weight beast cause it just look cool. Yea, the odd shape and the litte bat inlay at the 12th freet did it for me. Flat black body, neck, and head with the exception of the brand logo. But, the down fall about this guitar is the the pickups and the wireing. After playing for a while and letting dirt and grime on the hummbuckers, one humbucker is used and set, and looking at it(I've had mine for atleat 2 years) the sound and look kinda dissapates. But keep in mind you can always "upgrade and update" or chop. The brdge and "string threw body" is set and cant be undone. The actiond is set low. For a metal head , I like that, but u can set the bridge anyway u want(its just a cupple of screws). I bought this guitar juts the way it "was". JUST THE GUIAR, no extra accessories. But this type of guitar is mainly for biggining Goth or Metal Heads who wants to shread some s*it up.

I'm a pure Metal Head. I go by "if it aint heavy it aint s*it". And this baby can take it hard and fast(Speed all the way). But Marshals are a good way to go for it. Before I've "upgrade and updated" my bat. The sound seamed alittle to bright. Always had feedback and using pinch harmonics wasnt to my likeings. And so, I've instaled a EMG 60. Now I cant even get it out of my head. I'm doing this revew at work and I want to go back home and try to make it sound heaver. Remember to get better quality in what you got is "upgrade and update".(Dont worry it is not a sales pitch, Im no sales rep.)

I got this guitar for 200. Originaly 220, but lowered the priced cause of a little chip. The action set-up is perfict, verry verry low to move easier around the fret board and the frets are not to big, not to small. The hummbucker set-up is not to bad but alittle low for my type of taste. You can say that this guitar is made somewhat by the book. The bad this is the weight. I can throw the guitar 100 yards cause its to light. But, thats me overexagerating.

I think this guitar can withstand live playing. I've said I had this guitar for 2 years. The finish is good but can be much better. I wraped mine in black duck tape so......
I wrather choose straplock. The buttons was never really good to me. But, everything else is durable. And yes, I can depend on it.
I've Been playing for 9 years, I will never play a show with out a backup for any sort of guitar. always have a backup.

This guitar was made in 2003 I'm guessing, and in China, of course. it has 24 frets with a solid top. It only has one volume contol knob. The neck is relitively think and made of Maple and the body is a durrable "plastic", which picks up any dirt and fingerprints in an extremely noticable manner. It has the most unique body shape I've ever seen! (Infact that's was really one of the only reason's I purchased it). It has a double cutaway in the front AND back. It looks like something Batman would play. It has a string-thru-body design but the bridge was set too low and caused an annoying buzz when i played it. It had to be re-adjusted. It didn't come with any extra accessories, which really sucked because I haven't been able to find a hard case for it's unique shape yet!

I play everything from metal to Emo and I've found that it doesn't play the heavier riffs nearly as well as the higher sounding riffs. I put it on full distortion n the amp (10) and change the treble, middle, and bass settings for what i'm playing. It sounds OK for a begginner who doesn't know any better. It really only amounts to a "spare" guitar taht you'd let your little bro have to trash. There is nothing great about the sound, even though it doesn't sound BAD.

Like I said before, I had to re-adjust the bridge becasue it was set too low and caused a rattle. The pickups were just fine though. The strings that had been put on were crap, and the fret board got a ton a dirt in it relatively quickly. Occassionaly the volume knob would slip at just a brush of the hand, but not that often.

I would never paly live with this guitar. The covers on the back of the string adjusters are just that, covers. They aren't sealed and will get dirt and grime into them with time. Anytime it gets bumped up againts something, even a little bit, it enda up with some mark on it. The finish is very poor. I haven't had any problems with the strap buttons but I know other people have. I would never play it in a group w/ out a backup.

I've been playing for only a year, and take lessons once a week. I play every day and have previously played the violin and piano. I really don't like the guitar as compared to others I've played, and if it were stolen or lost I'd go and invest in something worth my money. The only thing I love about it is the body. I will never buy a guitar off the internet again.
