This is a three pickup 12 string guitar. The pickups are "Alnico" toaster (Ric) style with a 5-way switch and volume and tone controls. This is a very plain looking guitar, in a white finish in a roughly Les Paul shape. It has a semi-hollow body with an F-hole on the upper side. A rosewood finger board with plastic block inlays. A very nice adjustable bridge. A good mix for a guitar of it's price point.

Sound : 8
It does the Rick thing pretty well, but seems to have a little more low end. I think this is due to the body construction. The pickup switching setup is like a strat. I do wish I could get the neck and bridge pickups together. I'd though about re-wiring the switch to get this. It was surprisingly nice for it's price point.

It came setup well, but as usual I restrung and reset it up. It is very well made for it's price point. I was especially impressed with the fret finish work. The nut did have a groove that was cut too low, but that's easily fixed.

Reliability/Durability : 8
For a 12 string electric this is more than adequite. The finish is a basic servicable one, but not like a PRS. For a guitar I'll use occasionally, it will work.

Customer Support : 9
These are no longer being made but all the parts are standard, so any repairs shouldn't be a problem.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a nice playing, good sounding, inexpensive instrument. I actually like the neck a lot more than a Ric, which I can afford but is hard for me to play. I would try to find another at the same price.

After playing around adjusting the pick-ups I was satisfied with the tone. It satisfies the electric 12 string crave without taking out a second morgage.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
After setting up the neck relief and intonation I found it pretty nice to play.

I use to own a Rick 12 a long time ago. Hey this ain't no Rick. But if you have that 12 string electric urge and don't want to go spend alot of your hard earned cash, go can't go wrong with this one. Once set up, this guitar IS FUN TO PLAY!

2000, 20 frets, Made in Korea. The center block is fairly big, made out of solid wood, top and back made of some type of pressed wood/laminate. Black metallic finish. 5-way switch, 1 vol, 1 tone. Three single coil toasters. Maple neck, rosewood board. Les Paul semi hollowbody with f hole. 12 saddle bridge. Generic Gotoh tuners.

Sound : 9
This guitar is well built, for the 3 bills I paid for it. The neck is superb. Its unamplified sound is pleasing and adequately loud for practicing. The problem with the guitar is in the cheap pickups - frankly, they are very bad. Not only are they microphonic, their output is weak. I describe their sound as "dinky." You have to bring them very close to the strings in order to get any sound and when you do that, they click loudly when brushed by a pick. I replaced the bridge position with a standard Strat single coil and found the results amazing. This guitar has great clean and overdriven sounds. For straight ahead folk rock and crunchy rock and roll, this guitar sits in the pocket and fills up the room. You could even get away with hard rock with this guitar. I use it through a Crate Vintage Club 30 watt tube combo, clean channel treble and bass 5, it starts to break up smoothly at about 4 on the volume.
For crunch, I set the treble at 4, mid at 3 and bass at 5 and this thing sounds great. Very dynamic. . .lean in and it barks. With the original pickups I give it a 3, after new pickups, I give it a 9.

Good set-up. Pickups too low. Excellent bridge, fully adjustable.
The finish was good also. Like I said, this guitar is well made.
Intonation needed to be set, but is now excellent all the way up the neck

Reliability/Durability : 8
The neck is thick, beefy and extremely solid. The center portion of the body is strong, but I'm afraid that the hollow part might cave in if I smashed my elbow into it. (About the same strength in this area as an acoustic guitar.)All in all solid. I would use this guitar on a gig no problem and depend on it without a backup.

I am planning on getting one of the 6 string models, for the tone, maybe put some hot rails in for leads. Yeah, I'd replace it if it was taken by some creepy bastard who has no respect for other people.
I bought this guitar because my 12 string needs were not being met by the solid-body Rick I had. (610 12) The neck is better, wider, and the range of tones is greater. I can even make it sound like a Chiming Rick.
The bridge and the tuners keep it in tune, which was hard to do with the Rick. This guitar went from a 5 to a 9 with the addition of decent single coils and an iintonation job. Get rid of the toaster pickup covers, too.
