Made ca. 2005 in China. 24 frets. Comes with one humbucker pickup, volume and tone control knobs. I have no idea what wood (or wood by-products) this baby is made of...but as good as it sounds I don't care! The body shape is remotely similar to that of the Steinberger/Hohner guitars that are out there. Sort of rectangular with curves. Stop-bar bridge. POS tuners. Comes with gig-bag.

Sound : 9
For the money, this is one of the most amazing guitars I've played. I have no idea who made the humbucker on this guitar, but it can do it all...from clean to ultra-distortion. The sustain is beyond incredible at this price range! If only it stayed in tune more consistently (definitely need to replace the tuners!).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
All things considered, this guitar was well set up with low action. If you didn't know it was a "Brownie", you'd swear it cost a lot more. It looks every bit as good as the Galveston and Hofner models that are also available in the same configuration and color (basic black).

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've not played live with this guitar (yet), but I can tell it is spunky enough to take just about anything you can throw at it. I wouldn't recommend dropping it down a flight of stairs on a consitent basis, but it is very solidly built. As is often expressed on here, it's not wise to gig without a backup, but if I was in a betting mood on any given evening I would wager it would hold its own anytime, anywhere.

Customer Support : 5
I purchased this at Sam Ash, and while their druggie sales staff have no clue what customer service is, it's still a reliable and well-established company and they've always done right by me.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for my own amusement (and sometimes for that of others) for the last 25 years. I'm not a good guitar player, but I have fun with the equipment I can afford. I own Samick strat and explorer copies, and a Squier tele. I took a chance on this little guitar, and it has become my favorite hands-down! As mentioned above, I love the sound it produces, but the tuners drive me crazy! If it were stolen I would go buy another without a second thought!
