I bought this 3 years ago approximately ,I was looking through a Sam Ash catalog on a train on my way to work,I saw the silver one and had to have it ,at $149.99 it was a steal, unlike other reviews I have had no problems at all,I also bought the red one off ebay for about $75 a year later, again no problem,The sound of this guitar is somewhat like a tele with a little more jangle aka Rickenbacker, anyone who buys this for metal [old or mordern]has bought the wrong guitar, the action out of the box was a litle low .so I raised it ,also the little cover that go over the height adjustment screws pop off,so I left them off in my parts box,I see they have started selling used for over $200,so as an investment I also did pretty good,I gave it a 9 cause nothings perfect

I play mostly hard rock and blues, the word I hear to describe what I like is [old school] boy do I hate that term,I have used this with tube amps for practice , a Crate vc 2010?? the tweed 2x el-84 class A screamer and also live a couple of times into the board thru a zoom gfx 707? It sounded great live and good all the time ,throw a pedal in front if you want more gain or for solos ,still ,not a metal axe I gave an 8 as it sounds good ,but not much variety w/out effects

This guitar is an awesome looking guitar, someday I will grab the blue one and then I will have all 3,like any cheap guitar it could always use some tweaking ,I personally like bigger frets ,and the action was low for my taste ,but I was amaze at the overall quality and looks of this guitar,it almost looks more like a custom made Les Paul

I havent done a lot of gigging with it ,but asise from those little covers over the bridge height screws,I think it well made ,The bridge is very much like the old badass bridges ,people used to updrade thier L.P. Jrs with and the tuners are fine, mine never goes out of tune and I bend the sh-t out of them, its all in how you put your strings on ,everyone has the correct way,I have the way that always works for me ,I have no more then a wrap and a half around the post, and pull the strings til the stretch is gone ,people tell me its wrong, but it works for me ,I am off the track a bit .This guitar is gig worthy, you would have to be a little more careful with it,as I dont really know how tough the body material is ,I will give it a 7

When I got my first one from Sam Ash,I emailed Samson who owned them at the time ,to find out more about them, all I ever got was a thank you for emailing us and a Brownsville catalog that told me nothing I didnt already know ,if something broke on this axe I would guess you are on your own

I have been playing about 30 years ,I still own over 20 guitars,if this were stolen I might not miss it for a month ,but it has its place and is great looking and plays and sounds nice ,if I see a blue one for the right price I would most likely buy it [I cant stop myself]..for the money a great guitar, most complaints are for its lack of a metal sound ,you can just look at it and see its not a metal guitar, for rock, blues, country or soul.it covers those bases nicely

For a semi-acoustic it looks rather electric but it's got a great neck shape. It felt like a rather confortable guitar. The finish is stunning and makes it look a 1000 dollars while costing conciderably less. The looks are in fact so stunning that dutch singer/songwriter Ellen ten Damme used it for a video and an album cover (see www.ellentendamme.com).

I have used it on a Fender Twin and it responded fast (like a semi should) and it sounded warm (other may say basey but i like that kind of sound). It could have a tad more sustain though but hey that can be helped with a compressor and the reverb of the Twin.

I have had no time to check the guitar for flaws closely but in first contact it looked flawless (by the way the hardware on my trusted Paula is corroded and I don't consider that to be a con). The pick-up selecter was noiseless and the action of the guitar was oke (but that is something you can expect when you testdrive a guitar at a guitar shop which knows its business).

I play since I was 16 and I currently own:
Gibson Les Paul Heritage Standard 80 (vintage cherryburst) (1980)
Fender Statocaster Plus (silverburst) (1989)
Fender Telecaster American Standard (black) (1998)
The Heritage H575 (natural blonde) (1985?)
Takamine Ltd. 98 (1998)
Peavey Palaedium Bass (1990)
As I said I would need it for just that kind of sound (like you would buy a Silvertone or something in that category). It would definitly not be my first choice in versatility.

Bought it brand new cheap.Probobly made in a garage in the Bronx. Beautiful red sparkle finish. Two knobbies and a switch. Pretty cheap set-up. Puppies are fair, a set of humbuckers would do it justice. Sounds good cranked up in overdrive, but so does my truck.

Works well for classic rock tunes...a good amp certainly helps the overall sound. Good thump down low...little strings are to twangy and dance all over the place. Won't stay tuned if you beat the crap out of it for more than 5 minutes. Like how it looks.....dislike the action.

Set up seemed fine. Just tumed it and started playin with little or no problems. Pickups seemed fine other than whimpy. No flaws in appeaance...looks much more expensive than it really is.

I'd hate to bank up against something cause if this finish gets chipped it'll look like crap. I would only use this at a gig in someones basement or garage.

Playing over 10 years. Own a old fender strat that kicks ass and an Ibanez AW100. Whoever tries to steel this must be pretty desperate.I might buy it again...good practice guitar. Compared to others guitars it holds its own.

Very cool workmanship for a cheap axe. Its made of some kind of masonite over a solid wood center. For the most part it is built like a Danelectro. It has two single coil pickups that look like rejects from a Teisco. Wormanship is kickin for a guitar in this price range. This one haas a cool silver sparkle paint job that is totally gaudy in a cool way. The switch and knobs are cheap, but totally in keeping with the overall theme of the guitar. The frets are a bit sharp on the ends, but I haven't had any problems with the action. No buzzes oon this one.

Very good tone. Bright and jangly. Its sounds great for country pickin, and isn't bad with a little overdrive. I had to turn down the treble all the way on my amp and beef up the bass to get the best sound. Why people are using this thing for rock and metal is beyond me.

Its just a standard hollow body one tone, one volume, and a 3 way pick up thing. P.O.S. bridge and can never stay in tune

I play this wuss through a Fender Roc Pro 1000 tube hybrid amp which is a beast. But this guitar disgraces it. It has (as its supposed to have) a twangy country rock hillbilly kind of sound which is totally the opposite of what i play which is just metal. If I turn the pickup switch to the neck i get a nice clean but other than that the sound is rather tinny. Distortion sounds like crap for metal but if u play old skool def leppard kinds of sh*t its okay. No sustain at all if i try tapping or soloing it just goes dead unless i plug my metal zone on which rules!

Absolutely marvelous finish. I have the red sparkle and all the chicks love it. When I'm on stage it gives a beautiful shine and the finish is very tough i play mad aggressive and haven't done any damage to the guitar at all. The finsih is the main reason i bought it. The tuners suck monkey balls it never stays in tune even one bend can just take the whole guitar out. I used like 5 diff kinds of strings but t never stayed in tune. The pickups are really cheap and give the guitar a tinny sound sometimes when i palm mute the pickups start rattling it sux! The finish rulz but everything else just sux

It i very durable but i wouldn't use it at a gig just kause it goes out of tune so quickly. Its reliable as hell i friggin dropped it down my stairs and no damage whatsoever occured.

Brand new Korean-made guitar, thin hollow body with awesome silver sparkle finish. Two single coil pups (even though they look like humbuckers), one volume control, one tone control, one 3-way switch. Tunable stop tailpiece bridge, non-locking tuners, relatively thin neck
Sound

Sound is kind of wimpy, but then I'm used to humbuckers. Sound seems kind of bassy, hard to get a good treble sound that is not shrill. Even with that the guitar can sound good when cranked, although has a tendency to feed back on distortion channel, probably due to hollow body construction.

Guitar set up fine, used it the same day I bought it with no setup at all. Did have some slight tuning problems that disappeared when I put on new strings. Silver sparkle finish is beautiful IMHO.

I've been playing since before we walked on the moon. I have owned many good quality guitars and amps, but usually come back to the oddball off the wall stuff so that I can both look and sound different from everybody else. I really like this guitar especially at this outrageously cheap price. In fact, I like it enough that I have ordered the Brownsville Impala at the same price from the same company.

Don't have any prejudice and give it a try if you're looking for a vintage sound, a reasonable price, a solid instrument and for a very specific kind of music. To me it sounds like a mixture of a Rick and a Danelectro (I own a 60's Silvertone with a lipstick pickup and its sound is very similar).
