I believe it's made in Japan. Through my research on the internet,it's the older late 70's and early 80's japanese made 335 model. Without serial number, crown inlay aligned above the middle tuner pair on the headstock , fret edge binding and has the bell shaped trust rod cover. Vintage wine red colour. Very warm jazzy sound from it's original humbuckers. Stop tail piece. The rest of the features are as the Gibson ES 335 Dot. Neck is on the thin side, smooth and fast. I'd say that it's an exact copy of the vintage early 60's Gibson 335. One strange feature on this guitar is that it has a screw on the neck tennon behind the front pick ups, not sure the vintage Gibson ES 335 has it too. Most of them dont. I'd give it a 10 because an ES 335 should built as the ones around the 50's and 60's.

Great for Blues, Vintage Rock and Jazz. This guitar not only sing, whine and scream! It brings out your soul!! Played through an budget Vantage VG15 practice amp with Ibanez TS9DX and occasionally Cry Baby CGB-95. I bet it'll sound much better through a tube amp. No problem with it's knobs and control. Very sensitive volume and tone knobs. Sound wise, it's just what I wanted. Blues sound, rough but clear. It produces an warm and sweet jazz sound without the distortion. The pick ups do magic! I am very satisfied with its sound. Freddie King, BB King, Chuck Berry, Burrell, Clapton, Ritenour....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought it used from Japan. I think the previous owner has done some good setting on this guitar. Action of the strings is low, fast with a set of 0.09. It has normal grain maple top back and side, no flame or bird's eye. Hardwares are oxidized, it's 20+ years old, but they function perfectly. Finish of the guitar is almost perfect, flawed by a few scratches. The binding of the guitar near the heel seems to been reglued. I have no complaints on the finish, way much more better than most of the guitar on sale today. Sadly it's original pickguard is lost.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Never played live with this guitar yet. I believe it should have no problem playing live. It's hardware has been working for 20 years, I can see another 20 more with good care. I can definately depend on this guitar. But I'd say that this guitar need more care than the solid bodies. I'll give it an 9 because of the extra tender loving care she needs, which could be annoying sometimes (as we all experience with the most precious woman of our life!!) Never play a gig without a backup!

Have been playing for 10 years. Own a CIJ 67' Reissue Fender Stratocaster, a 98' Epiphone Japan Les Paul GoldTop. This guitar is very very very close to what I want but cannot afford, a vintage Gibson ES 335. I'm not lucky enough to be able to play this guitar along side a real vintage Gibson ES 335, but it sound very similar to the sound from the vintage records. I'll make sure it'll not get stolen, because these guitars are RARE!! I need a time machine to find another one of these! I wish it came with the original pickguard. Would like to know more opinion from other Burny ES 335 owner!

I purchased this item with the help of a friend who speaks fluent Japanese in late 2004. Its very close to Gibson DOT 335 ES in a cherry finish. My friend spoke to a rep in Japan and the guitars with a long tenon neck were produced in Japan and the other version is made in Korea at the same factory currently producing the Gretsch Historic Series gutiars. Very top end quality either way although the Korean version is not quit top off the line as the electronics ae a bit weaker. Mine is a long tenon neck pocket about beyond through the neck pickup. Very nice sound with nearly identical PAF pickup sounds I can roduce with my Gibson original. Tuners are same as Gibson Deluxe with pearly white cream tulips. Neck profile is very fast and finish is almost identical to the American original. We were told Burny does not produce a RSA-55 modek in China at this time. Very high quality with the same features as my 335 ES.

I play all styles of classic rock and blues and am becoming a fine jazzer as the years go by. I've been playing guitar for 36 years and have owned the finest. 65 Gibson Firebird, 56 Goldtop, All varieties of strats and 335 originals/clones. This guitar really shines in rock and jazz sounds with good middles and chimmy highs. Very nice even tonal qualities for the price. Much nicer than my DeArmond Starfire copy. I can coax BB King and Clapton woman tones with very little effort. I may spend the money to upgrade to Seth Lovers or some JB's or 57's to get a little more but thats saying alot as I would'nt usually spend the extra money but this axe is worthy of this kind of upgrade as the finish is fantastic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I purchased this used and it was set up just as I would have myself with intonation perfect and low and speedy string height. All fit and finish is above alot of the finer makers charging at least four to five times as much as I paid for this beauty. Even has kerfing inside around the entire interior like the real McCoy. The cherry red finish is a match with my 335 ES and I don't mind it out around the kids as I do the Gibby. What a bargain guitar. Really fine!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I play weddings and weekend parties and use this as my primary player at this time. I also play an 84 Les Paul Studio when out and about. Both guitars have fine features and tone tone tone. I am sure the finish will hold up to my style of playing and the hardware is all very high quality. How can they build such quality on such a budget guitar is beyond me. Beats alot of Guilds, Gretsch's and most recent Fenders for finish quality. Very dependable and solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I am told the people were very nice my friend spoke with in Japan and Burny has been around for quit awhile along with their Fernandes line. I can't speak Japanese so I will take a chance with the build quality as I usually do my own setups and repair work. No idea about warranty so I'll leave this one as No Opinion.

As I said earlier I have been playing guitar since 1970. I stated on a Silvertone Stratotone and never looked back. I currently own a 78 335 ES Cherry, 78 Ibanez PF 300, 84 Gibson Studio, a variety of Strats and lawsuit copies, Vantage Ghost, etc. 24 guitars and counting. Amps include Marshall AVT 50 and four 12 cab, Roland Jazz Chorus, Vox, Peavey, Gretsch Broadkaster lead twin, and more pedals and boxes than I care to count. I love this guitar. Great tone!

I have just taken possession of a new blonde Burny 335. It is factory authentic. Supplied with Hiscox case from a guy in Wales.

I am using it with Music man amps, combos, a Gallien Kruger and A Hi watt. I use it with some reverb and the amps switchable channels. It sounds ....magic

benn playing for 30 years, own 2 G and l ASATS, 1979 Gibson 335, Aria F80, 1962 strat, various acoustics. Heaps of Music Man amps. If this guitar were stolen I would get another. I have owned many Gibson semis 335s from 69 to 79, Gibson 330s from 62 to 65, Epiphone Casino from 62. 62 strats, and later strats. This is a SUPERB guitar and matches without a problem top end manufacture and tone.

This is a blonde Es335 dot marker made in either Japan or Korea! It was made around the time production switched, so I'm not sure, but my gues is it is Chinese. It has an almost flawless construction, and the neck and frets feel exactly like my Gibson dot marker ES335. Sound is similar, too. It has it's original pick ups. If you want a quality semi that doesn't cost the earth, it doesn't get better than this! In my opinion, it p*sses all over the equivelant Epis Tokais etc.! They feel like the cheap copies they are! I use this one now as much as my Gibson on stage, and I always get favourable remarks, both on looks and sounds. (I use both Marshall half stack and a Carvin Bel Air combo. A vastly under rated little amp with a great sound!)

Sound : 8
I use it for Rock/Blues, mainly in the 70's style of Clapton, etc., but I also use it on Steely Dan stuff. I used to play in a Jazz Rock Chick Corea style band, and it handled all of that and more really easily. It has that typical semi woody tone that is so versatile. I use Carvin and Marshall amps.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Absolutely top notch all the way here!

Reliability/Durability : 8
I rehearse every week, and gig 2-3 times a month. This blonde baby copes without breaking sweat!I have used it as a sole guitar at a gig before now. A pro-standard instrument at a really wallet friendly price.

I've been playing 30 years, and have Les Pauls, Strats, Hamers, and a Gibson ES335. It compares favourably with most of them! If it got lost or stolen, I would have no hesitation in replacing it straight away with another the same (If I could find one...they are as rare as hens teeth, especially in blonde!) I love the feel, as the neck is perfect for me, with spot on medium jumbo frets. Sound is good, but this is where my Gibsons and Hamer win! The sound is comparable, and the audience probably wouldn't notice, but as a former pro, I must get around to putting Duncan Seth Lover's (my favourites!) or Gibson Classic 57's on it. Then we would be cooking with gas!!!

Don't know when it's made. I just dropped by a guitar shop to get some strings and I didn't mean to buy anything else, but the guitar was looking and sounding so nice I had to just go ahead and buy it. It looks just like a Gibson piece. I know that people will argue that if you want a 335, you have to have a Gibson and I think that's true. It's just that I was surprised what a $400 guitar can do these days.

Sound : 10
A very well made piece of instrument. it's a Japanese brand made in China. Sounds really nice and balanced unplugged. Yes, I have played a gibson 335 and it sounded more of a musical instrument with good quality, but this Burny piece can produce some usable tone and can let a player accomplish something. Only thing, though, is the pickups. I think I will have to change them. My band mate mentioned that the sound comes out from the amp is not yet usable. I am thinking to install a pair of Duncan Seth Lover models. I hope the alteration will make a change.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
One good thing about Japanese products, including cars, stereos, is the appearence. Whatever they make, whether it is poor quality, they make it look nice. The finish is just great! I don't know what Gibson or other top makers do to look their products good, this guitar is a pretty piece to look at!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything seems nice except the vol and tone pots. I may have to replace them in the near future. maybe when I change the pus.

Very nice guitar! I've been playing for 25 years and went through a lot of guitars. I was very surprised at what the quality of cheap instrument has come to. It will not compete with the real Gibson, but it sure is a usable piece of instrument.

Made in late 70's. Built just like my original '60 335. It's the one I take out and play. It IS a 335, regardless of what it says on the headstock.

Sound : 10
Sounds almost identical to the original. I could not tell much difference between the original PAFs and the Burny pick-ups. The Japanese copied the original right down to the flaws! They even did not pot the pick-ups. Braided wire used like original and pick-ups rock in their mounting rings like original. Blew me away. Same great neck profile and fret ends even covered as per original.
