These are brand new Burny LP copies from Japan. Burny is part of Fenendes and has been making guitars pretty much forever. Once upon a time(1980's) they made Lp copies in Japan. I've owned quite a few of those too and although a lot of them were overly heavy ( 10lbs) they were nice guitars. This is the Randy Rhoades model in lefty. It comes in a beautiful antique white. Let's take it apart and see what we find : The no name gold tuners hold tune well, although they are a hair too inboard on the headstock. TRC cavity is clean as can be. The nut is plastic, but is well cut. I replaced mine with a Tusq. The fretwork is flawless, no bad frets ,no buzzing. Neck profile is a medium. Not a slim taper and not a bat. Weight is around 9 lbs. Ishibashi set's them up prior to shipping so it was great out of the box.

The first thing we notice when plugged in is the pickups are LOUD. I have a lot of LP's and this surprised me. I have a Burny John Sykes model LP and it too has loud pups. Sound is such a subjective thing but it will suffice to say... it sounds good. Nice and beefy where it need to be and glassy in the neck pup. Iplay thru a 15 watt class A tube amp. When the overdrive is cranked up or behind a HL-01 all my LP's sound very much the same.

Ishibashi has always set up every guitar I bought from them prior to shipping from Japan. At this price point the guitar is quite a value. Some corners are cut- cheap input jack that you will want to replace right off- This guitar has no seam running down the back, pretty hard to hide on a white guitar. The black one I have has a very visable one. The use of the T.O.M. bridge is a nice touch as opposed to the cheapie ABR copies you see on most imports. Tiny 250K pots are used , the cavity work is clean on all counts.

This is the guitar you will gig with. This is the one you will strap on and leap about with. Why ? it's a 500 dollar guitar, and if it falls over or gets banged up it's not the end of the world. Unless you are a wanker, in which case you will worship it and never really learn anything. All gold hardware tarnishes pretty fast , so I don't expect this to be any different.

Ishibashi is probably the best there is. This guitar came in it's triangle box, which was put inside a Gibson box, and bubble wrapped on the outside. No one else I know does that. Comes with the standard fernandes Warrenty, don't know what it is, never read them. I've bought a lot of guitars from them( Ishibashi) over the years, never ever a problem.

I've been playing over 30 years and have a house full of guitars. I am very partial to Gibsons but as a lefty I buy a LOT of Asian guitars just for the variety they offer. So many great guitars coming out these days, I have an Edwards & a Tokai that are both very nice as well. These new Burny's are great with a little bit of work. At under $500 shipped they are a marvel. If your used to those cheap Agiles, this would be like a custom shop guitar in comparision. And if you have a lot of American guitars as I do, this will be a really pleasent surprise and a fun guitar to play.
