Bought new in 1978. Don't remember what I paid but I remember I used the money intended as a downpayment on a car to pay for it. Typical looking classical guitar made in Japan. Not sure of the woods used but the fingerboard is rosewood. Good all around finish. Very sharp and classy visually.

I play many different styles of music from classical to heavy metal. She is my primary writing guitar. Even tone, easy on the fingers and true all the way up the fretboard. Ironically even my heaviest, raunchiest pieces originated on the Conn. It's not an overly loud guitar but it's perfect to pick or strum away on when an idea pops up. The sound is rich enough that I've customized settings on one of my modelers to try and duplicate the warmth of the guitar on background rythyms. Sure I can mic the guitar up in studio but live performances with the Conn, unless in a small venue, is not practical.

I bought it new. It was 100% playable and accurate from day #1. The original machine heads (tuning pegs) wore out after a few years but I think that was also partially my fault. I took the guitar everywhere with me so she took a few dings and spills here and there. She has survived road tours, several moves and 8 kids. One collision with a toddler resulted in a loose rib but that was repaired.

As I said previously this guitar has taken a beating over the years. She has what I consider a few battle scars and after nearly 30 years the finish is showing some signs of wear. Regardless of the cosmetic dings though she still plays as true as the day I bought her. Many other guitars have come and gone but she is still my pride and joy.

Never needed to deal with them when they were still in business and they have long since been out of business.
The rib repair was done by a local guitar tech.

I have been playing for 26 years. In that time I have owned dozens of guitars. Fenders, Gibsons and Schecters mostly. I have also sold many of those guitars. Only 2 have stayed with me and I doubt I will ever part with either of them. My Conn and my Peavey Patriot. Both are beat to hell and still going strong.
I'm always looking for Conns but they are hard to find.

I will be buried with this guitar,It is that nice.Between this and my Ventura V-696 steel string dreadnaught I spent about $150.00 total, and I compare them side by side with Martins and Gibsons. They are equal if not better.I personally think my guitars are better sounding/playing than my Brother-in-laws and he spent over $2,000.00 for his.I know he agrees but he doesn't want to admit it.I have been playing for about 30 years.

I am trying to replace a Conn acoustic guitar given to my husband in the early 80's by his mother. It was stolen. The info I have is as follows:
CG Conn LTD
OakBrook, Illinois
Made in Japan
Model C-10
Sound

Sounds almost as good as the Aria I had in the early 70's when I was into folk. One windy day at the beach I simply held my quitar up and the melodic quality was unreal.

It was perfect for a man, the neck was too widespread for my fingers but I finally mastered it.

My C-10 was made in Japan. It belonged to my father for as long as I can remember. The SN is 72030332. it has 19 frets and is a solid top. I am not a guitar expert but will do my best to describe it's features. It is obviously a classical and has been a wonderful guitar for the last 11 years in my possestion. I have only had to replace the tuner pegs and the oxbow and to my surprise there is no twisting of the neck - which was a surprise to the technicians here in town.

My style, well, I like to pick more than anything and love the sounds of flemenco musicians so a classical is more alongs the lines I am used to hearing. I have purchased a few guitars since this one - Ovation, Washburn and Yamaha. I have also sold these and kept the Conn. The sound is rich and not to extreme. Very consistant up and down the neck. Since the new pegs and oxbow, I have been even more pleased. I have not been satisfied with other guitars and am finding that this guitar is a real gem. The sound is soothing and soft, rich in base and subtle in the upper register.

From the factory...I have no idea. I would imagine that with the multiple years of use by my dad and my three kids, it has been well built. The technicians who worked on it thought it well built to seeing that the sound has stayed consistant without defect.

I have played soft and hard. It strums okay but is not ment to do so. I do know it plays soft and would require a mic for live performance. I installed strap buttons, well hidden of course. I use this for live performaces but in close settings so a mic is not needed.

I have not delt with the company as I have not needed any assistance. I wouldnt even know where to begin. My repairs have seemed to only be routine and nothing out of the ordinary - strings, pegs and oxbow.

I have been playing for 15 years. I love this guitar more than any other I have played. I wish it played louder but then again I find the most fulfillment playing on the couch, alone. I do keep thinking of adding a pickup but it hasnt been nagging enough for me to actually do it. If you get a chance to purchase/play a C=10, Do it. I think you will find a great addition to help smooth out the rough work days and family stress.

Classical guitar, model C 10, made by Aria in Japan in the 70's.It has 19 frets, the wood is of fine quality Spruce top, Opalaca back and sides, solid rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. It is shaped as most classical guitars. The finish is light and shows the grains of the top clearly. The back and sides have a shinier appearance. The bridge has a string-thru configuration.NOt sure what brand the tuners are but they look very typical.

I generally play classical and flamenco and this guitar has served me well. I'd say that the sound is full and has good projection. The basses and trebles don't overpower each other either.I like the volume and clarityt however it is not a traditional sounding guitar to play flamenco.

I have been playing for quite a while now and I would say it is a good all around guitar. I would be at a loss if I lost this guitar. Id probably try to find another one. It sounds a lot better than the Yamahas in it's price range.

Conn Classical guitar, model C 10, made by Aria in Japan in the 70's.It has 19 frets, Spruce top, Opalaca back and sides, solid rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge. The finish is really nice for a guitar built in the 70's. The body style is your classic modern Torres replica with a interesting rosette. Conn is a fine instruments company that is still in existence but they only sell brass and saxophones.

I mainly play classical and flamenco and this guitar has served me well. It is loud and has a nice classical guitar action. The strings make a world of difference..I recommend a set of Hannabach strings. I like the sound this guitar makes because it is good for all styles of music. I really can't gripe about the sound however it is not a real flamenco built guitar hence a tradionalist would know that the guitar wasn't made of cedar or cypress.

I bought the guitar used and I have only had to change strings every now and then. I couldn't tell you how it came out of the factory but I would say it has a nice comfortable action.

Overall I'd give it a 8.5/9.0 ...it's better than any cheaply made new guitar out there but not as good as a luthier built guitar. I may be a little biased because I came up with it but it is really all around a good instrument.
