Japanese made in July 1973, the guitar seems to be made pretty well. Not sure what kind of wood its made out of, but its a good solid guitar. Not as heavy as some guilds that I have played, but it holds its own. No pickup, but the guitar was pretty cheap, so that wouldn't be expected. Fat neck, like an old Gibson SG, and 21 frets, but only up to 20 are usable. Generic tuners, but on an old japanese box, grovers aren't expected.

Sound : 9
I play anything from Classic Rock to Bluegrass to Dave Matthews, and this guitar can handle it extremely well. The tone is warm and fat, and its loud enough to fill a cathedral if you're strumming hard enough.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was set up when I got it, not sure whether or not it's on factory settings, if it is, they did a fine job. The action is perfect for an acoustic, not so high that you need a capo to get the strings down, but not too low that you get fret buzz. The neck is smooth and playable, I love the pearl block inlays. Everything is perfectly aligned, ie: straight neck, smooth back, etc., but over the years, it's attained a few dings, overall, though, its a sold guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I've played this live many times (once a week since this January) and it has never failed me. The strings stay in tune, and they hardly ever break, I've only had one string break on me in the entire time I've had it. The finish is really strong, especially on the neck and headstock. The body's finish needs some waxing, but thats easily taken care of. The only problem I have with it is the strap buttons. There's only one on the bottom of the guitar, and it just won't stay in. I really dislike having the strap connected to the headstock, but I don't really want to have it drilled, and I don't want to glue in the bottom button, because I'm considering installing a fishman soon. Ah well, I'll give it a 7.

Customer Support : 1
Here's where it sucks. The Conn company was bought out around 1975-1980, so customer support is non-existant. I have never needed to use them, but even information on the guitar is unattainable.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for about half a year, and started out with this guitar. It has suited me well, and is far above my quality of playing. As I continue to learn, I want this guitar to be with me. The sound is great, and it looks amazing, but the strap button and the customer support bring it down. It's better than some of the cheap Martins and even vintage Gibsons. Comparable to low end Taylors.

This thing is a Conn F-25 serial number 73070573, which i believe means it was made in 1973 in Japan by Aria. It has a solid cedar top, solid rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, rosewood bridge that is bolted on. non-sealed tuners, but you'll have that when your playing guitars from '73.

Sound : 9
this guitar sounds amazing. its not quite a taylor 514, but close, beats my buddy's gibson J45 by far. I've recorded with it, has a very full, warm, deep tone, alittle heavy in the mid-range, but overall very nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
this guitar has a very beefy neck, like an old SG. action could be better, intonation could be better, but who knows the last time it was setup, before I had it, and Ive had it for 3 years. very well built guitar, quality materials and craftsmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 10
when I got it, the bridge was loose and rattled, but I just tightened up the bolts that hold it on and its been fine for 3 years, played almost daily. I play it without a backup all the time, nothing really to go bad though. this thing is solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
cant find much info on these, if you got any, let me know. havent tried to get help, but Im guessing its non-existant.

Overall Rating : 9
I been playing about 8 years, I play mostly lead electric, Ive owned ovation and epiphone accoustics, sold them both and kept this one, because of sound quality. need to get a pickup in it though. I play taylor's all the time, and this thing lacks little in sound quality. very good price for the quality of insturment.
