Hi,
I was recently in Long McQuade music store and an acoustic guitar caught my eye. Approached it, and noticed it was a CONN F27. Apparently,It had been in for a repair and whoever owned it couldn't pay the bill, so it was up for sale for $99.00. Great timing on my part. I had never heard of this model before, but sat down and began to play. Sound filled the room and I was hooked. Such a full, rich sound with a smooth neck. I bought it straight away, and to this day evertime I pick it up and play this guitar, a big smile comes across my face. Great guitar. If you happen to find one, buy it! Dan

From my research, i have come to find that this guitar was most likely made sometime between 1974 and 1976. Purchase price at that time was between $150-$250 which i am guessing would put about a 600 dollar price tag on it if it were to be sold new today. I purchased this guitar from a friend back in 1992 for $75. The shape this guitar was in at that time would have led me to think that it was maybe only 5 years old at most. It was just the most beautiful guitar and i had no idea that it was indeed as old as it was. It came with grover tuners already intact.. i am not positive that these are the original tuners for the guitar or that they were replaced at some point. I have seen pictures of others F27's and alot of them seem to have the same tuners as mine, but also you have to consider that back then, grover tuners were pretty much the entire market when it came to aftermarket tuners.

The bottom end of this guitar is all anyone ever talks about when they've finished jamming on it, and with good reason. The lows this guitar produces is somewhat reminiscent of resting your headstock against the wall while you play. Just this bellowing deep bass that tickles that butterfly in your gut as you feel it vibrating through you.

What was advertised simply as an "ebony" fretboard, turns out to be stained rosewood apparently. The body is spruce and looks as beautiful today as it would sitting on the showroom floor in '74.

I was born in '74 as well and i am 34 today. I have owned this guitar for the latter half of its 34 years. I bought it when i was 17 and have put it through the ultimate test. It has been in the trunk of my car for extended periods of time (including extremely cold winters).. hell i used to carry it in its case, on my bike to my buddys house to jam and have had to bail and throw the guitar as i was falling to the ground, only to come to find that the guitar was in just as pristine shape every time i opened the case.

I have been playing for nearly 20 years now. This was the 2nd acoustic guitar i had ever owned, i still own it to this day, and i do not foresee myself ever parting with it willingly. I am convinced there is something truly magic about this guitar. No other guitar in my personal history has withstood the test of time and my penchant for dragging my guitars through the worst possible territories and climates. I love my F27. She's my girl.

I'll play about anything that I can. this guitar sounds so good for all styles that I play. I've looked for another replacement, but haven't found one that can match the sound this has without spending well of $1000

The guitar was set up well from the factory. I've tweeked the bridge saddle a bit to bring the action down to where I like it. It's been the same now for about 20 years, and plays beautifully.

This has been my only guitar for a long time, and I've taken pretty good care of it. there are a few battle scars, but other than that, it's nearly perfect.
the only thing I see is the body has a slight warp where the bridge mounts, but it doesn't seem to affect the playing at all.

I got my stepson started on guitar about 10 years ago and now he has 6 or 7 different guitars, but he's always grabbing mine when he can. keeps trying to steal it from me because of the sound.
the playability and sound this has still amazes me when compared to any of the newer guitars, unless you want to spend a fortune.
