This is a straight forward strat copy. The pick ups and quite good but the body was very thick and lacked the contours that Fender have. However, the best feature is the neck. I have no idea what the neck is made of but it feels like Bubinga and felt similar to Warwick basses. The fingerboard felt nice a soft plastic and my fingers did not want to leave this pleasant environment. Hence I bought the guitar! It would have been nice if Carlsbro had designed a new guitar rather than copy the strat and they have potential with this lovely neck.

It sounds pretty good and not dissimilar to a Fender Mexican strat. If a beginner was committed to playing I'm sure they could get at least two years of playing this before wanting an upgrade.

Nice as it felt, the fret were rather scratchy so I had to take an electric sander to it. Now it is fine.

It feels very strong and could be used as a live guitar in the same way that Squiers and Vintage models are often used.

It is a good model for starting and though higher in price than Encore or Stagg it is likely to be a faithful servant rather than an unused gift. As long as the ends of the frets are sanded off it it be a great guitar.
I often see beginners' guitars like pantomines. There should still be entertaining to the adults/critics/experienced players. I could certainly envisage some dads sneaking into their sons' bedroom playing this guitar! (Sorry if I sound sexist!)

21 frets, haven't a clue when it was made. A nice 5 way selector, 3 single coil pickups to choose from. Make a nasty sound when switching, a pity. 1 volume and 2 tone controls. Unknown about the type of pick-ups, fairly basic. They have a nice contrast, but switching is a pain when a loud crackle invariably comes out. Rosewood neck, frets are a bit small. Not much included gear, an alan key and cable. Not bad for the price

Suited for no particular style, depends on how you look at it. Its not that noisy compared to say, a squier bullet, but still not as good as it could be. A full sound, can stretch from something like a Les paul sound to a Rickenbacker. Dislike the lack of personality, like the variable sounds.

Here's it strong point, its amazingly well-built. I'm never going to win any contests for keep your guitar, but it still feels like new. No flaws, no rusting, no loose strap buttons, no nothing. Looses a point for the noisy pick-up selector

It would withstand live playing, but it really wouldn't have enough power to do so. Hardware is holding together nicely. Finish is v. thick. Dropped it onto concrete from standing height and only a small scratch. Could you do that with a BC warlock?
I wouldn't use it live, simply because of the sound quality.

If it were stolen, I wouldn't buy it again. It is a starter's guitar, make no mistake. I do like the thick sound, but it just wouldn't stand up to gig playing. It would be nice if the single-coils were better, and the pick-up selector wasn't so noisy. Compared to a fender strat, go with the strat. Compared to a squier bullet, go with this, no question.
