Plenty of features. Ive had this guitar for 5 months and just realized it had a coil tap on it! I will say my dc127 has more electronics on it though. Doesn't matter as long as it sounds good.

Sound : 10
I play mostly metal, pantera, mettalica ect. This guitar sounds awsome. I can get the heavy rythms i want and make the lead scream as well. I am planing on comparing this side by side with emg 81s but I dont think they will sound much better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action out of the box was awsome. Honestly I have never played a better guitar as far as action goes. I even owned a dc127 made in 95 and I think Carvin has improved over the years cause this guitar is amazing. The stainless steel frets are silky smooth. Ive played guitars that feel like your grinding the strings into the frets, this isnt one of those guitars.

I do have to say though one of the strings has a problem staying in tune. Ive never had a problem like this on my other Carvins. I believe its actually a faulty tuner. It looks worn compared to the rest and makes a creeking sound when I bend the string. I have notified Carvin of this problem and they are sending me another tuner out.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is fit for years of live playing. You could hand this to any famous musician and they would be happy. They would probably order one asap. As far as using it without a back up, I would never play a show with out a back up because I break strings. But yes this guitar is as reliable as any guitar out there. It has dunlop strap locks and they have never failed in more then 10 years of use.(from my 95 model) The finish is solid with no flaws in it.

Customer Support : 10
Carvin has always had great customer support although I have never delt with them in person. I never had to send my guitar back yet. I believe its has a 5 year waranty.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 12 years. I have owned a fender strat, rouge electric, and many other guitars including 4 Carvins. If my guitar was lost or stolen and it wasnt found by the snagg chip embeded in the guitar I would order another asap. I love everything about this guitar. I like the fact that its a les paul style guitar with my custom likings. ie tremalo. Carvin is easy on the wallet as well. You only have to put 20% down for them to start building your guitar and you have 3 months to pay it off while they are finishing it. You can stretch it longer than that if you need to as well. If your thinking about getting this guitar I say go for it. If you dont like it they will refund your money but I think you will fall in love with it quick.
