I play blues,southern rock and jazz and this guitar as all my other Chafin Customs fits the bill perfectly.
I play through either a Peavey Classic Tube Series Duel 212, Peavey Delta Blues 210 or Epiphone Galaxie 25, the only effects used are Visual Sound Rt 66 OD/Compressor pedal, Vox Clyde McCoy wah and DLS RotoSIM.
The Targa can do it all with the Bartolini pickups from rich full sound, to searing highs for rock. The combination of the tonal palette is amazing from Strat like bell sound to rich full jazzbox and everything in between.
What's not to like.

Every Chafin that I have purchased has been perfectly setup right from Ben Chafins shop. The frets are like glass.
The bookmatched top is a sight to behold as is the Flamed Spanish Cedar back, both top and body have incredible 3D depth.
Exactly what I have come to expect from a true Custom shop built guitar.

I was one of the first muscians to own a Chafin Custom Guitar, and none of the 5 that I own have ever let me down, dependability has never been an issue. I always take 2-4 guitars to my shows, but the majority of the time I only end up using one.

Ben, goes above and beyond for the owners of his guitars. I haven't needed to get any of my Chafins repaired, the warranty is lifetime to the original owner.

I've been playing for over 45 years, and I have owned just about every high end guitar out there over the years. Currently I own the first 2 Chafin Customs Embers built, a Chafin Helios, and a Chafin Volante custom semi hollow, as well as a Jimmie Vaughan Strat, all the Buddy Guy Artist series Strats.
If this one was stolen I would definitely replace it with another Targa.The weight is absolutely perfect under 8 pounds, and the sustain is to die for. Not only is this a sonic tone machine it is truly artistry in wood visually. I have tried PRS, McInturff, and Deans, and the Targa ran circles around them all in every catagory.
I urge everyone who is taking their guitar purchase to the next level to look into Chafin Custom Guitars, they are the best kept secret out there. you would pay 4-5 times the amount from any other Custom shop. Want a design of your own instead of one of Bens regular models contact him he will do that also, have an exotic wood you would like to have your dream guitar built from he will do that also. Chafin Custom Guitars is a true Custom shop in every sense of the term, the only limits are your imagination and your wallet.
