My Charvel is an early 80's guitar, I think. It's got 22 frets, 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, a 5 way selector, two Jackson stock single-coils, and a Duncan humbucker. I don't know if the Duncan came in it or not, and I don't know what model it is. I bought it in a pawn shop. It's basically a strat style body, it's a little bigger than a strat though. And it's WAY too heavy. It's got a Floyd Rose locking tremolo system, and I hate it. It never stays in tune. There are tuning locks, and I hate them. They are worse than the Floyd Rose. Maybe mine's a fluke or something but this thing will get out of tune after one chord (no joke). The only thing I like about this guitar is the neck. It is paper thin for sliding up and down the neck for solos. I have an Epiphone G-400 (see my review of it) and I wish I could put this neck on it. It feels sooooooo good. I guess for the price I paid for it I didn't do too bad. It came with a hard case and all of the allen wrenches for the bridge. The guitar is allright as far as features, but read on and it just doesn't cut it.

Sound : 1
I like punk and hard rock, and this thing BY NO MEANS suits me at all. The Duncan has potential, it just needs to be in a good ole Gibson. All I do is distortion or clean, with the occasional wah, and this thing, for one won't stay in tune, but it just sounds terrible with any sound. It makes one sound... suck. I hate it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
When I got it, It was set up just fine. but with the style of Floyd Rose it has It's always different after I restring it. I will NEVER make the mistake of buying a Floyd Rose product again. The thing had a few scratches on the back from a chain wallet, but that's O.K.

Reliability/Durability : 8
If it would stay in tune maybe I could use it as a third string backup, just because it sounds so terrible. The strap buttons are very good and the guitar is very sturdy, I jsut can't play it because of the tuning problem and sound. I probably wouldn't use it at all but if I had no choice, I would probably not play rather than use that thing. But as far as it's built, it's O.K.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not a clue.

Overall Rating : 1
I hate it. This is the sorriest Jackson/Charvel product I have ever seen.
