I believe this guitar was made between 1989 and 1994 but not sure where. 24 frets. Volume control only with pickup selector. One charvel humbucker in bridge and one charvel single coil in neck. Not sure of body wood, but neck is maple with rosewoood fretboard. Body is cock rock orange and dinky strat style. Bridge is Jackson licensed by floyd rose. Has lock behind the nut with traditional headstock. Neck is thin and fast as hell with jumbo frets. Came with SKB case.

I play original death metal in the vein of latter day carcass/death with a touch of vintage sabbath. The guitar is great for solos but less than great on rhythms because of the floating bridge that does not give me the feel I need for rhythm work. Maybe if it was clamped down somehow it could be better? I use marshall valvestate, peavey supreme 160 and metaltronix amps. This guitar has no feedback problems whatsoever at any volume! (unless you are using the neck single coil). The bridge pickup has a powerful balls to the wall sound and this guitar has the best resonance ever! You can hit an open A chord or open D chord and you can feel the neck vibrate in a pleasing sort of way unlike any guitar I have ever played or owned, including neck thru guitars. Incredible sustain. If playing at low volumes the neck pickup can get some great Yngwie/Paul gilbert tones. I mainly use this guitar to play fun shred Yngwie stuff during the week between band practices and gigs, when I just want to have fun playing guitar in an 80s shred sort of way without worrrying about any band stuff. A great escape to the 1980s. I wish I had one then! this guitar is also the ultimate for doing scales and dexterity exercises. It stays in tune better than my true locking nut jackson rhoads with the floyd!

I bought this guitar used and the input jack was worn along with the volume knob, which likes to back off on its own. Pickups were adjusted perfect and frets were almost perfect except a little wear on the first 3 frets lower strings only. I can't believe the finish and frets are in such good shape considering the condition of the input jack and volume control! Overall, this guitar appears to have been engineered by a super genius!

I have played this guitar live and aside from checking the volume control, which I automatically do anyway from time to time, it worked great. Hardware and finish is killer, but the color makes me feel like I am in the Addicted to Love or Straight Up videos. It has aftermarket strap locks. I would always use a backup guitar.

I have been playing for 23 years and own a Randy Rhoads Jackson custom built for me in 1986; a 1964 Fender Jaguar; two 1984 Ovation Ultra Gs'; the aforementioned amps and an ibanez tube screamer and dimbag wah pedal. If lost or stolen i would carefully scan ebay for another. I don't know if the fixed/traditional bridges are as good as the jackson/floyds though, as I have only plaed the jackson/floyd bridges....I love the action, the frets, neck, playability and resonance. This is the best guitar for playing lead that I own, including the Jackson which I paid $1700 for! I am dead serious! Also the most resonant, including the neck thru Jackson! This is the kind of guitar that if you hit a chord kind of half assed on stage, it will do the rest of the work for you until you hit the next chord/note. I just can't say enough about how this guitar resonates better than neck thrus and has frets that you can feel when the hair is in your face and eyes full of stinging sweat and you can't see the fretboard! You can really throttle this guitar for Ace Frehely/Ritchie Blackmore type leads. I just wish the guitar was bigger, as I am a fat-ass and this little red bastard looks like a toy on my bloated gut.

LP shaped body (basswood), bolt-on ultra thin maple neck w/ rosewood fretboard, red and black burst on front, black on back... came stock w/ 2 CRAPPY humbuckers that sounded like total shit... 2 vol, tone pots... black hardware... bought in japan, i assume was made either in japan or korea... tune-o-matic bridge... i have never seen another charvette in the same configurtion outside of japan, which makes me think that this was made for the japanese market only... if you have a similar one, pls email me...

first of all, i have modded this guitar in the following way- i chucked the stock pups & replaced w/ gibson p-90's... awesome... but decided i needed more of a metal guitar, so i had a single fury 50's rocker pu installed in the bridge... also graphite bridge saddles... this guitar is very nice playing for a budget instrument... very fast neck and resonant body... after mods, this is an awesome rock guitar... simple 1 pu layout and reliable hardware... change the stock electronics and you have a well built and solid guitar... the fury (a canadian company) is a very high output pup w/loads of sustain... some would no doubt say it's wasted on a cheaper guitar... but man, this thing is amazing for metal... i am in a band and we play aggressive rock music... this baby cuts it... the above mark is after mods...

I've dropped, banged, smacked, and hit it off about everything and it still looks fine. The tremolo bar holder is broken but I got it used and I don't have any idea how they could've broken it.

It seems like the guitar will last forever. The finish never fades. Strap buttons stay tight. Only reason to have a back up is incase you break a string.

My only dislike is that I can't find alot of info on the guitar. I've tried to replace the tremolo and it's old so they can't replace it cheaply.

I play lots o megadeth metallica iced earth alice in chains, jimi hendrix, and SRV. This guitar is awsome for metal but not so much for blues, It is an awsome guitar for playing solos, not noisy at all, the humbucker kicks ass, but if you want to play slow rock or blues I would not play this guitar i have a fender strat i use for those styles, yet i still love the sound of this guitar.

There are no flaws on the guitar, everything was adjusted right, and even if it wasnt, if a person is good at guitar they know how to adjust the pickups and tweak the factory setups anyway, awsome finish, i have dropped the guitar on concrete and on many other surfaces and the paint has un-noticibaly cracked (if you look hard you can see it) the finish is still perfect.

24 Fret, two jackson pickups, one of which is a hb. Three position switch to select one or both pickups. Unsure of wood type for body, definately maple neck, with rosewood fretboard. Finish is orange and black crackle (black painted cracks on a hideous puke yellowish color)
Floyd Rose bridge, with locking tuners. Low action, small radius, very smooth, definately designed for playing lead.

This has been the perfect "bust out into a solo" guitar. This guitar was actually my first electric, and I think now that's why I play lead guitar.
It seems to me that you could pull any sound out of this guitar. It has a very flat bright sound, but variations of amps and effects can achieve anything. I've been able to achieve surfer tones, loud earthy blues, and complete 80's rock.
The lower tones seem to carry, while the higher tones kind of diminish on the single pickup. The humbucker on the other hand really ballances everything, as well as pulling great harmonic frequencies too.
Overall the sounds that it pulls are allmost 'typical' sounding. There is not a whole lot of uniqueness to the sound, only the way that it feels. Which is definately not allways a bad thing.

I have had the guitar for 7 years now, and all in all it has only had one problem. The intination with the floyd rose has had problems. It was shortly after I first got the guitar. It seemed so bad, that I tried taking to a place to get it professionally fixed, and they started jacking up the price as it was taking them weeks of trying different things to get it fixed. Eventually they gave up and charged me a regular price and gave it back.
I have no idea what all of that was about, but I played with it a tiny bit and the intination is still a tad bit off but it's fine otherwise. I fear that this is from something in it's past and not something manufactured poorly.

I have torn the thing to pieces and put it back together again, it is very simple and durable. I broke the tremolo bar and three strings simutaneously during a live show once, but only because it is reasonably heavy and the strap broke. The guitar fell smack center on the tremolo bar.
The finish could easily be called bullet proof. And the weight and solidity of the guitar gives it the feel of a tank.

There is something about this guitar that feels right. I wouln't trade it for my dream guitar, unfortunately. So I kind of feel stuck with it. That's very okay though. If I ever got my dream guitar, and didn't have this one any more, I would definitly seek another one just like it.
I've been playing on and off for eight years, I wouldn't ever get rid of this guitar, even if I one day stopped for good. This guitar has never collected dust unless all of my guitars were collecting dust.

Made in 1990, 24 frets, single volume knob. Bridge humbucker and neck single coil, with 3 way switch and no coil tap - they're both charvel pickups, passively wired.
Body is, I believe, mahogany and the neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard. Typical superstrat with a floyd rose etc.
Not too many features, but the H-S pickup configuration is quite unique, so it gets a good rating.

Perfect for random metal noodlings (the neck is super fast), I play it through a Danelectro Black Coffee distortion into a Vox amp: perfect for any kind of Vai/Satch style shredding. Pretty much useless if you want anything that's not a solo though....

I can't really comment on this seeing as it was already 11 years old when I bought it. Came in pretty good nick though, considering its age.

This thing is pretty much indestructable ! I've thrown it around, yo-yo'd it with the Floyd (which looks to be nicely strong metal), and the thing's only got about three dents to it ! The strap buttons are large; very, very large. No need for straplocks.
I wouldn't gig it without a backup, simply because I'm paranoid. Some people might well do though.

I play random stuff; progressive mostly. The guitar has an oddly trebly (compared to oters I had then) sound which I believe is mostly the Jackson pickups. Adjust the amp for it and it's very nice.

I have no idea of the factory settings as i borrowed this to tune it. It was horible then and after i let go of it it was complimented on. I thought it was a great-playing guitar after string height, balance, intonation, bar strings etc were adjusted to fit together. As mentioned, this was a beat-up blue one with big cracks (pieces glued back on).
I'll give "no option" though the material looks very nice, I cant comment much on the hardware of originals.

I think it was made around the late 80's. It has 22 frets and has a humbucker and two single coils. All are Jackson/Charvel pick ups. The finish is a sort of dayglow red/orange. It has a vintage tremelo a fat neck with a reverse headstock and i got a strap and a lead cable with it.
