Features : 9
Charvel rhoads (AVENGER) V,manufacture date i believe is 1991,22 jumbo frets, alder body, bolt on maple neck,1 vol,1 3-way selector,6 per side sealed grover(charvel logo) tuners,1 single bridge PU(active),2 single at bridge PU's(original stock charvel pu's),licensed charvel/jackson floyd rose trem,w/ hardcase. The one i purchased was used and fitted with an active seymour duncan? don't know what the model of this pickup is but it f--kin' wails! Excellent for full on shred.the only thing that lacks feature wise is the original stock neck single coil it's sound is mediocre at best, thats why i rate this category a solid 9.

Sound : 10
I play alotta satriani, malmsteen full on shred metal(god that sh-t rules!)now that this guitar has been fitted with an active seymour it's a metal tank,i can litterally peel the paint off the walls heaven forbid if i kick the volume past 3.I am currently using a 80's model randall rg-80 head run through a marshall 4-15 cab.this guitar has a nice peircing lead sound it's excellent for squeels and moans,i creem myself just running arpeggio's! This axe was only meant for one thing intense ear shattering solo's.as stated above the only sound quality that lacks on this guitar is the factory stock bidge singl coil.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Don't know about factory setup as i bought mine used for a mere $250,all the routing on this guitar was factory done (excellent),there was some oxidation on screws/basic hardware but thats expected due to it's age, since the lincensed floyd is recessed the action can be taken to extreme lows(sweet!)just like it's american counter parts.

Reliability/Durability : 10
like i said before i bought this axe used and i is still in perfect shape it looks/and feels like it can easily withstand another 10,although it does have a licensed floyd it has no trouble staying perfectly in tune(never gig with out a back up our 2!)The hardware is moderatly nice hardware considering the time period it came from 10 times more superior than that which is used today, the finish is thick fortunetly when i got it there was no chips or dings(nice thick jackson finish),The strap buttons are oversize stock and they are nice and solid to me strap locks are way overrated,I can easily depend on this guitar to last well' thats because i take of my instruments. This guitar was probably the most underrated guitar of the early 90's if you get chance BUY IT!!

I have been playing for 15 years,i own a us jackson warrior(one of the originals not that new crap)a jackson rr-1,a 1980's us bc rich warlock(this guitar is super sweet),and my most recent purchase was a us made bc rich beast w/ blood red bevels,if this guitar was stolen or lost for some crazy reason Yes,i would most assuredly purchase another,The thing i love most about this guitar is that i out performs most of it's usa counterparts(with the exception of a few),the thing i hate the most about this guitar is that some idiot tat helped design this guitar for some reason thought that it would be a good idea to place the input jack on the inside of the bottom wing so your force to stand and play this guitar, comparing this axe to newer made guitars it's like taking a nj series bc rich and magnifying it's playability/sound 10 fold. The only reason i summitted this review was that the only other person to do so was totally biased against this guitar but then again he's probably gibson player so that would explain alot:)

This guitar was a pretty rare find, in my opinion. I got it for $170 US at a little pawn shop in Oklahoma. I believe it was made in the late 80's to early 90's. Probably in Japan. It is a solid body basswood electric, hard maple neck, 24 medium jumbo frets, regular Charvel headstock (non-reverse), six to a side Sperzel non-locking tuners, 4 single coil Charvel pickups mounted at an angle (but the two in the bringe position were aligned as a humbucker), pointy RR type body (one point longer than the other), Licensed Floyd Rose floating trem bridge, with a locking nut. This guitar came with a case, cable, pick, and 1 allen wrench that fit nothing on the guitar.

Sound : 8
This guitar seems to do it all. It was a little hard to get it set up, but a 4-time Canadian Guitar Champion finally nailed it down for me. The guitar sounds great clean. Even better overdriven, but sounds the best in a heavy-metal type situation. I run this guitar through my Johnson JT50 with a Morely wah and Danelectro Fab Tone in the signal path. The pickups are a bit noisy in this high gain environment, so a noise gate helps tremendously. The single coils are very thin, but the two at the bridge when employed simultaneously sound ferocious. My favorite settings are with the guitar's volume on 8 or 9, the tone all the way up, and the five-way selector all the way back to activate both bridge single coils.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
I don't know how the guitar came out of the factory, but it took some tweaking by my aforementioned friend to get it right. The action could be taken lower than I thought imagineable with very little fret buzz. I had to instal a block under the bridge to get it to tune correctly (standard tuning). This hurt the overall versatility of the floating bridge, but those are the consequences with that type of hardware. The nut locks also liked to twist when putting even the slightest amount of pressure on them. I also had to replace the springs on the pickup mounting/adjusting screws. The wood and finish have retained most of their luster, but this again took some TLC.

Reliability/Durability : 3
This guitar really doesn't like to be onstage. It is a very delicate piece. The finish, on the other hand, seems to be a mile thick. I have buffed out the pick scratches a number of times, and the finish is still there. The finish did chip at the tips of the cut, but that is to be expected with this body shape. The bridge, again, doesn't like to be used all that much. It tends to go out of tune when depressing the bar further than a whole step. The nut locks were made of a soft metal, so after some time of use they had to be replaced with new ones. I definitely keep a backup handy.

I have only been playing for 4 years, but I have played enough to know a good guitar when I drop one!! This one is your basic pawn shop guitar. It's good and bad qualities seem to put it in the middle of the road. Although, it was definitely a bargain (price vs. overall quality). I pretty much bought the guitar because it looked cool. I probably wouldn't buy it again simply because I like to play instead of work on/repair my gear. I do love the almost inaudilbe harmonics produced by the pickups in the high gain structure I tend to play in. Harmonics are great in a pickup, but too much can make you sound too thin in my opinion. I just don't like the fact that it's not easy to take on the road.
Some of my other guitars include:
Les Pauls- Both Gibson, and Epiphone, and a Junior
Ibanez RG350DX - with a Seamour Duncan/George Lynch Sreamin' Demon PU.
Ibanez JEM555
Ibanez JEM777
Steinberger Spirit GU
and my trusty Martin D15.
