My Cole Clark Culprit is gorgeous translucent cherry with white scratch plate. 2 single coil Cole Clark pickups adorn this baby and they can sing or scream in any language through my Mesa D5.
22 frets sit on the American rock maple thin neck and it is so easy to play!!!! Grover machine heads are responsible for keeping her in tune and might I say do a mighty job at that!

I play mostly Blues,Country and Rock and the Culprit takes care of all the requirements I need...singing highs to bluesy lows and basically everything between. It pairs up well with my Mesa D5 for my requirements. I've played many of the classic Tele's and Strats and the Culprit is my choice for a working guitar :)

I purchased this guitar new about 12 months ago and I loved the way it was set up,ready to go straight from the factory.A quick in-store tune up and I was sold. The finish is A1 and it stood out from the crowd amongst the rows of other guitars in the store (many 2-3 times times more expensive). Overall quality is superb in every aspect.

I've been playing the Culprit basically every day either in the studio or live and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Providing basic maintenance(wiping down after a sweaty Mrs Palmer and her 5 daughters have been massaging that sweet neck and fret board for hours etc) and taking pecautions when playing (good bye Mr Belt Buckle)have this baby still looking like new.
I always have another guitar on stage mostly for variety (Schecter Diamond Series C-1+ with twin humbuckers)and only a goose would travel 200 miles from home to play a 4 hour gig without some form of back up, but in saying that I've never had a problem with the Culprit.

As mentioned, no problems but the boys at Davies-Wheeler, Canberra told me the Cole Clark Dudes were the real deal with after sale service.

I have been playing semi professionally for around 20 years. I'd definitely replace this guitar with another Culprit over any other tele' style guitar...Sorry Mr Fender but I love my Culprit.
My favourite features are the easy playability, great action, diversity of sounds for a great range of playing styles and the simple fact that I feel great every time I open my guitar case and see my Cole Clark ready to party....Did I mention the perfect finish??????

I bought this guitar second-hand without knowing much about it. I wanted a Telecaster and I knew Cole Clarke made good guitars, so I snapped it up. From looking at the Cole Clarke website i've worked out it's a CULP3SST Slimline Tele w/2 single coil pickups.
Made: 2004? I guess...
Frets: 22
Body: Maple Top with Translucent Cherry w/ chamber hole
Controls: 3-way selector switch & volume/tone controls
Pickups: Bridge - Single Coil. Neck - Single Coil Lipstick. Cole Clark Made
Neck Wood: Maple with Rosewood
Neck/Scale: Thin
Style: Telecaster style body and bridge
Tuners: Grovers

I love the sound of this baby. It has a really smooth and warm tele sound on the neck pickup, a little bit more bite in the middle and it has the chunkiest sound on the bridge pickup! I play this guitar through a 2005 Vox AC30 and it has a great sound both in the studio and on stage. Really versatile sound from your classic juicy tele tones to the classic bitey tele tones!
The bridge pickup has a bit of a buzz to it, but I attribute that to being such a chunky sounding pickup. The only fault I can find with the sound is that the gain isn't very high. It has a softer output than my other electric I gig with which is a Gretsch Synchromatic Sparkle Jet. Or perhaps the Gretsch just has a higher than average output...

I bought this guitar second-hand off ebay and when it arrived the action wasn't the best. I got it set up and it's been fantastic ever since. The finish is perfect - beautiful pearl scratch plate with the cole clarke signature carved out of it, beautiful translucent red body colour. The headstock looks beautiful too, great carved wood finish.
The neck is great to play too. You can slide along it really easily, it was built for shredding. It looks and feels very similar to the neck of my Maton Jumbo EMJ747. You can see the Maton influence there.
So as far as looks go, this is one dead sexy guitar. The clincher too is that one night after a gig I was putting this baby back in it's case and a hot chick walked past and said 'That is one sexy guitar!' Now you can't get better than that.

I've had this guitar for almost a year now and have gigged with it regularly and it hasn't missed a beat. I've never once been concerned about something breaking or not working. Everything's built really solidly, the pickup selector is a tight unit, the input is solid. I'm always worried whenever I plug my gretsch in that either the pickup selector will be buggering up, the input jack will crackle on me or the strap buttons will come off. None of those worries even pass through my mind when I pull the Cole Clarke out!

I've been playing guitar for 8 or more years and have only ever owned half decent electrics. This one retails at AU$1699 so i'd consider it as pretty decent, and for that money you get a fantastic guitar. It works perfectly in my band, a 5-piece originals band that plays music that you could call a mix of Beatles, Coldplay, Beach Boys, Ryan Adams... alternative rock, not too heavy, not too light kinda thing.
If this was stolen, first I would cry, then I'd be on the phone to Cole Clarke saying 'Give me another one!!!' I love this guitar because of the sound, the playability, the durability and because it just looks so damn sexy. I've never seen a sexier telecaster.

This guitar is a machine. The sound totally amazing on all 3 pick up selections. Front pick up, you get that smooth telecaster sound....middle selection has a little more bite and on the bridge is one of the fattest sounds i've heard. The chamber hole in the top section of the body gives this guitar a VERY unique sound. You'd simply have to own/play one to understand. This guitar would suit every player and every style of music. I honeslty prefer this guitar over my PRS. It is truly a beautiful guitar to play and look at.

Action is smooth and fast and the neck just fits perfectly into your hands. It has been set up 100% right from the factory and no adjustment was required. The finish on the guitar is spectacular. A Translucent Cherry colour, with a sparkle pearl scratch plate. What really sets this guitar off is the chrome covers on both back and front pickups. I cannot recommend this guitar highly enough. These guys really know what they are doing.

I've only owned this guitar for only a few weeks, but I can tell that it will have not have any problems withstanding gigging. All hardware is A+ and the finish has been beautifully coated and will stand the test of time. There is honestly not a single things about the Cole Clark Culprit 3 I would change.

Been playing for over 12 years (see my band @ http://www.thezeroediton.com). I own a PRS custom 22 and a Marshall Head with a THD 2x12 speaker box. Very fat sound with Culprit 3 plugged in! I would replace it today if were stolen today. I cannot pick one thing wrong with this guitar. I'd get it quickly before the price goes up! Let's hope they do not do a Maton and get too big and quality goes down. I can't see this happening though, cause they are very particular about their guitars and will not let them leave the factory unless they are 110%. Check out their fantastic FAT LADY acoustics too....that is a whole other review though! I cannot give them anything but a perfect score on all features, because it IS a perfect guitar.
