Features : 8
Manufactured in Sept, 2001,in Austin, Texas, East Indian Rosewood back and sides, select spruce top, beautiful 2 tone "pre-war" sunburst (special order), mahogony neck with rosewood overlay at the headstock, 12 frets to the body, slotted peghead, waverly tuners. Martin-style herringbone trim and snowflake inlays. Custom hardshell case. My only complaint in this category is the width of the fingeboard. It is taking some getting used to. I believe its a full 2 inches at the nut.

Sound : 10
This guitar has the most amazing sound I've ever heard. I own several other good guitars ( Martin, Gibson, Larrivee), but this is the only one I want. It has what I call a "Big" sound, clear and bright, with warm overtones. It's as loud as any dreadnaught, but with amazing clarity. When I play fingerstyle, the trble notes seem to jump out of the guitar, the bass is distinct and warm without being "boomy".

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Fretwork was fine, although I found the action a little too high for my liking. No problem, the dealer set it up just the way I like it. Everything else was flawless. The more I play it and get used to it, it almost seems "fluid" in my hands. It's almost " Think it, play it."
I'm one of those guys who "kicks the tires" before I buy, so this guitar got a lot of playing at the store, plus an inspection inside with a light and a mirror. I know a little bit about guitars, and I can't find anything that would give me trouble.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've already started gigging with this guitar without a backup. Everything seems solid and well made. I hope to hand my guitars down to my son someday ( when I'm done with them), and I'm sure he'll be enjoying this one for a long time. However, it is just wood and strings, so I won't use it to drive nails or paddle a boat. It's been my experience that anything can go wrong with even the best made product.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Lifetime warranty, haven't used it yet, don't expect to.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for 35 years, and I own Martins, Gibsons, Larrivee, National, Brian Moore Custom plus acustom made archtop. This guitar is my favorite, bar none. I would replace this guitar before anything. I absolutely love the sound and responsivness, I wish it had a slightly narrower fretboard. This guitar needs to played, though. Don't expect to sit down , run through some chords and expect it to sound better or worse than anything else. Challenge this guitar and you'll be rewarded.
