Sounds amazing. I compared it to higher priced Corts and other brands in the store, especially the Cort Earth 600, which I had been looking at for a long time before I found the AD-870. It does natural and artificial harmonics perfectly, very chimey (in a good way) in the upper register. Good balance between highs, mids, and lows...you'd have to get into high-end Seagull or Martin range to get crisper highs. Sounds equally good barring chords or played chords/notes open and/or with drone strings. I play rock, pop, and blues mainly...it works very well for thes styles.
Action, Fit, & Finish

No setup was needed out of the store. Action and finish were top-notch. Straight neck and switching between octaves revealed perfect intonation.

Very rugged. Since it's not electronic, this more than suits a trip to the beach or a singing/playing session by the campfire. I've had it a few months and have done some recording with it...the instrument itself records very well, I just have to work on my string-muting techniques a little more. : ) I would bring it to the coffeehouse, etc, without a backup.

The lack of the absolute best clarity and crispness in the highs is not that much of a detraction, but it does take down the rating a tad. I'm rating it on best value for the money, and you really can't do much better than this if you're looking for a solid, gig-worthy (albeit with a soundhole pickup) acoustic for a beginner to intermediate player. Good job, Cort.
