Made in Korea, 22 Frets, solid top, volume tone and 3 way selector, mightymite pickups, rosewood neck, mahogany body, Tele-style bridge, nylon strings, non-locking tuners, fat neck, came with: case, amp, strap, cord, 2 picks

Sound : 10
Beautiful sound. I plug this bad boy into the worst amp and it still produces a great sound. since there is a 3-way selector there are lots of options (with pedals, amp options, and a great guitar sound)

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Little is known about my guitar. As long as it sounds good I'm happy

Reliability/Durability : 9
It would stand through live playing
hardware will last, its very dependable, everything is solid
there was only one time i needed to fix it, and that was when i broke an e string, but i was rocking way to hard. otherwise it is very solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to. I'd like to keep it that way.

Overall Rating : 9
I have played for not long, but i've played other people's guitars, and they were nice, but i still love this guitar more than anything else (aside from david gilmour's guitar). If it were stolen or lost, i would seek and destroy (metallica refrence) the theif

This is an update to the last review I did a year ago. In case you're too lazy to read any of the other posts,

22 frets, flame maple top over set-in mahogany neck and body, 1 volume, 1 tone, coil tap, 3-way selector, 2 passive humbuckers from that company I can't remember how to spell, beautiful transparant red finish that lasts as long as you can go without dropping the guitar or hitting it on the ceiling or something like that, thin sleek neck, ect.

Sound : No Opinion
I've already commented on this one, my opinion of it is only going up and up with the number of guitars I've been comparing it to. I have yet to find a guitar that would fit me as well as it, custom cort acoustics excluded.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Here's an important update-
http://cort.axegrinder.com/cgi-bin/cutecast/cutecast.pl?session=LKmQcvcuJZwRdS9hZsX4tXqNxB&forum=1&thread=400

Easily fixed but really good to know.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
No update here except that the neck is very well set. My guitar got dropped between my last review and this update and it didn't cause any problems with the neck, or at least none that I've noticed.

Customer Support : 10
Here's the update-

I've been using the cort message board for a while and it's about the best customer support possible, especially for people like me who are afraid of phones. I haven't had to use the lifetime warrenty yet although I probably could have with the bridge issue, but it's a lot more convenient just having things explained in a way that it's not hard to deal with by yourself.

But yeah, it's nice. Quick friendly help, and they dont make fun of you for not knowing much of anything about guitars.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
If it was stolen I would get a cort custom acoustic.

Made in 2000, 2001? I bought it used in '01, and it looked as if it was practically new. Beautiful transparent purple finish over a quilted maple top. Two Mighty Mite pickups, volume and tone knobs, and a pickup selector switch round out the features. The neck and headstock are works of art with the use of pearl and abalone. Neck feels slightly beefy, but comfortable. Overall, the guitar has nice balance, and isn't too heavy. The gold hardware is a nice contrast against the finish. The bridge is a basketcase.....lot of work went into just re-stringing it, and intonation. See below for the deal on that.

Sound : 9
I love the sound this guitar has. The MMs put out a nice distorted sound that isn't too much like the Les Paul, but throaty enough. Definitely not thin like a Tele or possibly a Strat. Nice clean sound, which works good for blues, and rock. I was using this with a Peavey Transformer 112, but have changed up to a Classic 30. It sounded great with either one. I have numerous pedals that I've used it with and I'm always changing, so it would be hard for me to break down each one. A very good match for what I need.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Since it was bought used, the initial setup is null and void. I didn't touch it for a while, just kinda sat in the case. Only recently have I rediscovered what this baby was really capable of. Had it for almost two years before I finally decided to get a setup done on it. The bridge is a pain in the ass!! The way the strings load, and how you adjust the saddles takes a Ph.D to figure out. OK not that bad, but it took a while. It made it tough to get the intonation squared but that came around. Need some better adjustment screws, or better access to the existing ones. Other than that, there were a few light marks in the finish, nothing bad. I filed down the frets some, and rounded the neck edges just to fit my tastes. For a used piece, it was in fairly good shape. Minimal work that needed to be done.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I plan on using this for gigging, and from what I've seen so far (the second time around) it should hold up well. It feels great when playing, a very natural feel. Some of the hardware might need attention down the road, but for now it'll survive. I can't think of a guitar that's so good you don't need a backup, always plan for the unexpected.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with 'em. Should be a good thing.

Overall Rating : 8
Been playing for 12 years, seen a lot of guitars. Of the many I own, this is one that was destined to sit in the case as a collector, but recently when I went through the herd to figure which ones I could do without, I rediscovered it. Would I look for another one in the event mine was lost or stolen? Hard to say. It has yet to endear itself to me so that I'd look for one immediately, but I would miss the beauty of it. The bridge is the one thing that I'd change, perhaps to a trapeze and stoptail setup. Outside of that, she's a quality piece of wood, that I mainly bought for cosmetics which has shown me a lot more than just the glitz. Good job to the folks at Cort!

22 frets, pretty solid guitar, it has volume & tone knobs with a coil and a pickup selector. It has MM pickups, anything else you can look up. The best part about this guitar for my own playing (jazz, ska, blues, rock, punk, semi-metal) is the coil option. It combined with the pickup selector gives this guitar an incredible range of sound and styles. One thing I don't like is you can't fit a whammy bar to it. If I could I wouldn't, but I'm sure a lot of people would.

Sound : 10
As mentioned before, this guitar has about the best sound you can get regardless of what style you play. I was a bit skeptical of the "Mightymite" pickups at first because they seem to just be the stock cort pickups, but they're actually really good. I've played this guitar through a couple of systems like at an auditoriom, a couple of peavy combos, and a line 6 spider, and I havn't had a problem with any of them.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The only flaw I found with this guitar was some buzzing on the high e string because the action was a little too low, but I was able to fix that in like 7 seconds and it wasn't a large enough change to mess with the intonation. A big plus for me is this guitar keeps in tune forever.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I have had a couple of problems with this guitar. The nut where you plug in has fallen out a couple of times and the coil used to get stuck every once in a while. Nothing really serious, but it's really annoying when you try switching to a more full sound and rip the knob off instead. Other than those issues this guitar is perfect. The hardware & finish are going to live forever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never done it, probably never will.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing a few years, tried an epi guitar for a while which really sucks compared to this one. I've played a peavy t-60 for a long time in a jazz band and it doesn't sound as good at all.

If it were stolen or lost I would personally bludgeon the culprit with it once I found him. I really love this guitar.

Good guitar. Great value. You should all at least try it sometime.

Made in 2000. 22 frets, transparent purple finish over quilted maple carved top cap. Mahogany body and set neck, Dual Mighty-Mite humbuckers and gold hardware.

Sound : 9
Sounds wonderful. I play rock, metal, blues, gospel. The guitar fits all genres extremely well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Finish was fabulous. Had to adjust the action after installing DiAddario 10's on it. (it had 8's... YUCK!). No visible flaws anywhere.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Have used this guitar several times already, and have no complaints about its durability. I only use a semi-hollowbody guitar for backup for alternate tunings and in case of broken strings.

Customer Support : 9
Asked one question on the Cort.com newsgroup, and was answered within 12 hours by a Cort tech. Seems like they want to keep customers coming back so Customer Service seems like it's important to them.

I've been playing for over 20 years.. long enough to be better than I am. I have an Ibanez acoustic and a Carvin ES-335 copy made in the early 70's. The look, feel and sound of this guitar made it jump off the rack in the store and come home with me. This qualifies as "One Smokin' Deal" and would recommend this model guitar to anyone. If lost or stolen, I would definitely purchase again. The purple with gold looks very dramatic, and it comes with a clear plactic pickguard to allow you to see the quilted maple top underneath.

My oldest son has already told me he wants me to leave the guitar to him when I die. I don't have the heart to tell him I plan to be buried with it! (he-he)

Bought new 2002. 22 frets, mahogany with flame maple top. Very impressed with the finish and overall quality. The Transparent Purple finish over flamed maple is great.

Sound : 10
Typical 2HB sounds but with a bit of variety with the coil taps. The neck pickup is lovely and bluesy/jazzy smooth and the bridge p/u has plenty of snap and snarl when the volumes up

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I lowered the action a bit but the bridge pickup surround is too high to get the action really low. Nicely finished frets and a really comfortable neck make up for this though. I've got an '82 LP Standard and the CL1000 is far better in every respect.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This appears to be a well made and durable guitar.

I've been playing for 15 or so years and have always had 'superstrats'. I currently own a Yamaha SE812 and Ibanez RG570 and wanted something without a trem. I decided I didn't want a Les Paul as I've got one on permanent loan and it's shit so I started looking around and liked the look of the Cort. It is well worth the money and I'd definitely get another if I lost this one.

As I said the neck is real smooth. The sounds you can get out this beast is awlsome!!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The finish is beautiful. The guitar is not as heavy as a paul but, the sustain is great.

Reliability/Durability : 10

Customer Support : 5
there's only one problem. I wrote a letter to the manufacturer because the stores(in my area) didn't carry these in stock. So, i wrote a letter, I still have't heard anything yet... other than that no problems.

Manufactured in 1999 or 2000 (still trying to find out)
22 Frets
Laminate Top
1 Volume, 1 Tone and 1 Coil tap integrated into the tone control
Two Humbuckers
Cort Mighty Mite Alinco's
Passive Electronics
Body and neck is Mahogany
The finish on this instrument is absolutely fantastic. It is flawless and the color is out of this world. The top is a cross between burgundy wine and purple (hard to describe). The hardware is gold and the combination of the two colors sets this instrument apart from most guitars. These colors are not for the meek!
Body style is an LP copy but not quite as heavy as an LP. The body is contoured and very comfortable to play for long periods.
Bridge style is Tune-O-Matic.
Tuners are non-locking. If this guitar has a weak spot this is it. The tuner for the G string has had a real problem. I think it's posessed by Jimi Hendrix and keeps trying to go to an alternate tuning without my assistance.
Neck/Scale If you have small hands this rig is for you. Originaly I was going to purchase the Matt Guitar Murphy, but when I wrapped my hand around the neck of this baby it was all over.
Rosewood fretboard with abalone and (I believe) imitation mother of pearl. Very attractive though.
The only accessory that was included was a box and a cheap box at that!

Sound : 9
this suits my style perfectly. The guitar has an excellent range due to the coil tap.
I have a laney HR 50 and a Zoom 707 Multi effects pedal. With the combination of the Coil Tap and the effects pedal I can make the guitar sound just about any way I want it.
No Noise, but if I don't use the Volume/Tone knobs they will build up a little dirt. A few twist of the know solves that problem.
The sound varies with the coil tap and pick up selector switch. On the single pickup position you get a punchier sound that can cut through louder competing sounds (drums etc!) with the coil tap set to humbucker you can go from melodic to metal.
Overall the guitar has wonderful tonal qualities but, I wish it could come a little closer to a strat sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I haven't had to do anything to the guitar in the time that I have had it and I have logged quite few hours in the garage with it.
Pickups were adjusted fine.
The guitar was in perfect shape. The quality control at Cort must be very good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Not only will the guitar withstand live playing, I look forward to the day when I'm good enough to do it. My Cort will be right at my side (actualy my belly)
All hardware seems well constructed with the exception of the tuners, I see schallers in my future.
I think there is plenty of urethane finish on this guitar. It should last quite a long time.
The strap buttons are solid
The guitar appears to be very well constructed and I would pit it up against guitars costing three times as much, so yes I can depend on it.
I don't think I would Gig without a backup. It has nothing to do with this guitar but more with Murphy's law.

Customer Support : 1
I attempted to find out the actual date of manufacture. I sent the company the serial number and the place of purchase information. After three email attempts over a period of a month I got this response and I quote "Your guitar was manufactured sometime between 1999 and 2000, this is when 1999 is when cort began masnufacturing the CL1000." DAA... give me a break cort. Sorry Cort you get a big fat 1 on customer support.
Lifetime with a whole bunch of disclaimers.
Never have tried to get it repaired

Overall Rating : 10
About a year and a half and I have a Fender Mexican Strat and a Laney HR 50 amp.
I would definitely replace this guitar if stolen.
I love the fit and finish, the tonal qualities and unique character that this instrument has.
I tried the Matt Guitar Murphy (love that PRS look) but when I tried this one on it was all over. I have owned several guitars in the past, A Samick LP 450 Artist, Ibanez SG copy (many years ago) Alvarez Silver anniversery edition. This guitar is by far the easies to play and handle. It fits my hands really well.
Again the only thing I wish this guitar had was better tuners.
