Got it in 2004. I think it was made in 2001 (aqccording to its serial number). It is made in Indonesia. One volume and one tone control with three way pickup selector (Bridge, Bridge&Neck, Neck). Passive pickups. Solidbody, single cutaway and one transparent plastic pickguard. I'm using a marine blue CL200. Middle frets. Neck is middle thick but pretty playable.
The features are good except the bridge which is almost totally uncontrollable. The second problem is intonation, which lacks beginning from 11th-12th fret.

As a begginner, I'm trying to learn blues and the tone of the guitar is really good. It is really very good for playing electric blues and classic rock tunes. Its sound is pretty bluesy: bright but mellow. It produces pretty good clean tones and overdrives. I am not sure if CL200 may handle this good within the range of more noisy genres.

Again, I must state that this guitar lacks intonation beginning from 11th and 12th frets. The second problem is the worthless bridge which cannot be changed or modified. The rest is good, except one unimportant knob in the neck, which does not hinder the playing.

I am using this guitar for four years. Its sound is very good. One day, I am going to replace this guitar but certainly I am not going to sell it beacuse of its sound. Although I am using this guitar with a worse amplifier (Aria ProII AG25AT) and a decent processor Digitech RP80 it produces warm and bright sounds. The brand, Cort, seems to produce good guitars at lower prices. I am thinking of getting a Cort M600 or a semi-hollowbody Epiphone Sheraton 2 when I get a new guitar.

I have a long ranged style and this guitar can do most of it.
I use a marshall DB 7200 with a 4x10 cabinet.
Allthough it is a bass amp i like the massive amount of volume i can get and with this guitar i really can get the low ends of my amp.
This thing sounds good and is silent untill i bash the strings.
Fast neck and sounds awsome with the hendrix-wah and distorsion.
Good for blues and rock/metal.
The only things i didn't like on this guitar was i had to fix the endpins because they came loose and the neck came loose also but i fixed that with glue and it's own screws and it sounds ever better!
I changed the pickguard because i wanted more colour so now i have a new pickguard in metallic grey also the trusrod cover and the cavityplate. Also changed the cheap topnut for a new one, got the sound better to.

I bought the guitar new i a store for 600 guilders in dec 2001.
Pickups where low and the action was high. Everything was just fine until a few months later. Since i play guitar and get a new one i check every inch on it but not with this one. I have it for a while now and i started to mod my own guitars since i had to work on this one. So everthing i needed to know then in know now.
Good for starters and cheap to buy.
I also own a Cort M100.

Its all been said before but I wanted to throw in my own two cents just for anyone of my age and experience to get a handle on how good this guitar is. And the answer is...Very Good Indeed!
I'm giving it an eight because its obviously not perfect. The only gripe I've got is that the neck I got has your regular joe pearl dot inlays when the one on the Regent Guitars(.co.uk) website had lovely block inlays but thats purely a visual thing.
The neck is beautifully proportioned, I'm not the biggest guy around but this neck lets me be fast.
I'm mainly a rhythym player playing quite complex chords so I need to be able to get my hand into crazy shapes quickly, and while thats mostly a question of practice, this baby helps me get there.

At low volumes, this sucks ass, completely, and this fact put me off the guitar for a wee while but when I got it to our rehersal space and cranked up the Fender stage 160 amp there, oh did I get a surprise! While it had been dirty, quite lacking in tone and generally diffcult to get my sound across in my dorm room, at (not excessive) volume this guitar shines.
While I've not played many guitars I know what a crap guitar sounds like and, more importantly, I know MY sound.
Obviously it wasn't twangy like a tele, or gritty like my strat (mostly becasue I've got the bridge pickup screwed very high giving it a nice kick) but the bridge pickup of the cort was warm and dare I say it, saucy! and, even with the volume rolled back a bit, when I hit it a bit harder, had some drive of its own.
My main source of overdrive was a Nobles Fuzz pedal till I got a Boss GE-7. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a pedal that gives you acres of tone shaping and a hefty amount of Gain to try this out.
In my dorm room I had had the Level slider almost all the way but the first time I stomped on the GE-7 in the practice room I nearly defened my self! Now I've only got a couple of the middle sliders just barley over the zero dbs line and this gives my more of a boost than out and out overdrive. If I want something more beefy I use my Marshall Guvnor 2.
The neck pickup is as deep as you would expect and does get some use. I havn't experimented with the middle position as the other guitar player in our band has a Les Paul which he uses the middle position so I don't want our guitars to sound Identical.
As far as amps go I'm beginning to see that any guitar sounds best through 2x12 speakers or more. My own amp is a vox venue 100 watt 1x12 combo which I love to bits cos its fucking loud! But for a live situation I'd need an extension cab to give it the spread.

It was set-up by the techies at regent guitars so I'm assuming it couldn't get any better.
Mine is tasty see through blue (though sometimes it looks green!all good!) with transparent scratch plate.

Seems hardy anough, I've got a really good hard case whcih it always travels in.
I'm going to be careful with this one as my strat is beat to fuck and looks terrible

I've been playing for 6 years. I own this and a Strat, Vox amp and a slew of effects plus a fender semi acoustic.
I'm the main songwriter in a band whose music we describe as
post-indie-jazz-core
which basically means like At the drive-in, Stapleton, Appleseed Cast, Red Animal War etc
I use alot of alternative tunings so the tuners need to hold well, which I'm not sure these do. I've found that If I do alot of bends on the G,B, and high-E strings the tunings gets a bit iffy, but I don't do a lot of bends.
This is essentially my main guitar till I get another strat or a tele but its an absolute corker no matter what I use it for.
At the end of the day I got this guitar cos I wanted humbuckers, and I got a whole lot more than just that!
enjoy

Was built in Indonesia probably 2001
22 fret short scale maple neck, rosewood fretboard
2 zebra passive humbuckers
body mahogany or alder ? transparant finish, transparant pickguard, LP style but less heavy
bridge and tailpiece in one
one tone, one volume and 3-way toggle switch

I have been playing a strat copy for 20 years and I cannot get the same clear tone out of this one, but I was actually looking for something more "fat". I play mainly blues, rock. I play it through a Marshall Valvestate 8240 with occasionally the built in stereo chorus, a Morley Wah, MXR Phase 45, Schaller fuzz-wha, and it sounds okay, not noisy at all.
However the pick-ups are not great: the top 3 strings do not come out clearly so I'm looking for replacement pick-ups

The set-up was okay, but the shop made some final adjustments. Now it is playing just perfect, better than many other more expensive guitar I've tried. This was for me the main reason to purchase this guitar.
Wiring was poor. Had some failure because of short-cut by the jack that touches some of the non-isolated earth of the wires. Is very easy to correct though. I guess I will replace the output jack some day by a more sturdy one as well.

that guitar was built in indonesia, should have been 1999. les paul copy, but not really similar. 22 frets. you have one volume and one tone potis for two humbuckers. these should be no-name ones, but sound quite ok. rosewood fretboard. its finish has a greenish tone, with a slight blue.

i bought this guitar to start playing the electric - mainly for punkrock and hardcore, sometimes i try a little blues. it quite satisfied me - good cheap lp copy. the neck humbucker produces a really full sound with sometimes a tiny little overdrive when playing clean. bridge pickup is ok for distorted playing. i rate it @ 6 cause the pickups are really cheap ones and don't match higher expections.

I am unsure of the year, maybe late 90's. Indonesia. Volume, Tone, pickup switch. Maple top, rosewood fretboard, nice abalone inlays on fret markers. 2 humbucker pickups which are surprisingly high quality. I will have to dip the pickups, because feedback is bad at high volume. The tuners are sealed, but very low ratio and very loose. I am replacing them this week with grover 1:14 chrome tuners. Tuning won't stay in with these machines. I love the one-piece stop bridge, it's kinda like the "badass" bridge, but it is easier to set your intonation with this one. I bought this used, so there were no accessories or case. I would say this has a PRS/LP look and feel.
Sound
:

The sound is great, but like I said I will have to dip the pickups before playing at high volumes or at gigs. I use a Marshall VS100 and a Randall RB-120 Head through 2 full sized crate 4x12 cabinets. Also before that is a Boss Gt-3, crybaby wah, and DOD gate pedal. I have 2 strats, and this one feels the best but still needs some modifications first. I like the headstock style, and the body style. It definitely has it's own unique feel and sound. I have never found to identical guitars when it comes to how they sound or play.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Well, since I bought it used it was way out of whack. I had to reset the intonation, but the action was fair. Pickups needed slight adjustment. There were some minor scratches on the back. It may have been better straight from the factory.

This seems pretty rugged, and I will find out. I am pretty rough on guitars, and this one will be no exception. The hardware looks reliable. The finish is black, so it smudges easily. What else would you expect? The strap buttons are nice and solid. I would not play it at a gig without a backup until my modifications are done and I practice with it for a few months.

I don't even know what year it was made and either does the shop where I got it. Maybe 1999? It is a Les Paul copy. It is not the older style more true to the Les Paul. It is made in Indonesia. It is the cool black one with chrome hardware. It has the usual 2 volumes and 2 tones with a 3 way switch. It is solid mahogany. I know bwcause it is beefy and I also called Cort to get the lowdown on it. I didn't like the powersound pickups, (they are too thin sounding) so I opted for a Rio Grande BBQ Covered bucker in the bridge and a Dimarzio paf pro in the neck. The BBQ is an overwound paf with more emphasis on the middle and lower end. It absolutely jams! I have an .02 cap on the Rio and I will experiment to get the ultimate sound. These combinations are awesome. I use 10-46 guage strings. I replaced the string breaking saddles with 1960 reissue nickel non slotted saddles from Stewmac.com. Awesome! I also changed the cheesy tuners to sealed tuners. I had to bore out the holes a little with a reamer.

I also have a 1990 BC Rich made in the US guitars. That was my learning and hacking on guitar. It is a great well kept secret. I have tried a few other more expensive guitar lately and found this one to be a keeper until I purchase my dream guitar one day. ( A real Les Paul).

This model was made this year(2000). It has a Gibson scale neck, two humbuckers, 3-way, 1 volume, 1 tone (it even works), solid mohogany at least thats what the liturature says, and it started its life somewhere near Vietnam. It has a blue transparent finish which is damn near flawless, (what do you expect for a $200 guitar). Not sure what you call the tail piece, but its one piece w/ adjustable saddles. Your investment also gets you adjustment tools and and extra pickguard.

I play rock and jazz, through either a Marshall JCM 2000 halfstack, a JCM Slash halfstack or a Fender Twin. Not one to overdue effects just a little Lexicon reverb and delay. I find the pickups on this guitar to be surprizingly good considering its price. However, don't expect a trip to heaven out of them either. They're good but to my tast the bridge pickup can be a bit nasaly, and the neck a bit dark. With the selector in the middle position, the neck pickup is definately dominant. With a little tweaking of your EQ, you shpuld be able to find some thing you like.

The setup from the store was irrelevant. As soon as I had it home I changed the strings from 9's to 11's and adjusted the rest accordingly. It seemed fine prior to this however. I can see no flaws as far as the construction. The tuning pegs were a little loose though.

I've been playing about 12 years, and have owned all of the standards. Right now its a couple of Strats, a Wolfgang and a Martin. At this point, I frequently find myself wondering how a company can build a guitar of this quality, ship it halfway around the world and still sell it for $200 bucks? Makes me wonder just how much mark up there is for American guitars. This is a great value, and would make a outstanding backup for anybody, or if you're like me and just want a guitar you won't cry over if your 2 year old maniac puts a ding in it.

i paid sing $270. its basically a les paul copy, mahogany body n neck -bolt jointed, easily accessible. H-H setup. pickups r powersounds. mines in a transparent blue. looks cool, but id rather have a black one. brige is a chrome stoptail combo. neck radius 15" -my optimum. its got 22 frets. passive elecs. the 2 pots r good but the 3-way swtich needs alittle more care. dont even try to flip the switch while head bangin. its a great value for money. i recommend for beginners. intermediates would probably want to change the pickups. its made in indonesia though (asia version)

i play metal hard rock, sometimes classical. this axe works well for metal. its got warm mids n punchy bass. i dont really like its treble though. sound dull -not as bright as the les paul standard itself. the neck humbucker is abit too muddy depending on how high u turn its volume up. but i guess its ok if u put it thru max distortion or something like Boss Metalzone. i'd be changing the pickups real soon.

i bought with the pick ups set up to more treble. the pickup was slanted nearer at the higher registers too. i love the neck. its super fast. finished like the body though. it has a great finish. n it looks great with the chrome tuners and stoptail combo bridge. i opened the electronics compartment the moment i got my hands on it. the wirings' ok. properly soldered.
