Mahogony body w/caved maple top and as beautiful a finish as a Gibson. Grover style tuners. Dual Mighty Mites. Basically an LP in every sense. My natural finish model (I also have the silverbust)shows a lot of grain and the maple front is well matched unlike some guitars at a much higher price. The nat finish has open humbuckers but the silverburst's are covered.

Sound : 10
The open pickups have a smoother deeper tone making this guitar better for chording where the silverburst handles distortion better and the neck SEEMS much faster, leads and distorted bar chording. I'm using a Marshall 1987 50W. Lead half stack and a Zoom processor. Very nice indeed.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The natural (stained actualy) has a minor flaw where the neck meets the body, the stain is not uniform. Other than that these guitars are extremely well made and will last me a long time. They are already pretty old and I,ve had NO issues at all and I play every day for at least an hour.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I guess I answered most of these questions in the last catagory but yes I would poudly use either one anywhere at any time.

No idea.

I have been playing since 1970 and if lost or stolen I would seek out another one.I love the the way it makes me feel when I pick it up and feel how solid it is knowing it will give me every bit of sustain and tone I could hope for from a fine guitar and I spent less on both together than for the cheapest Gibson. I've played several Gibsons and the difference(if any) is not worth it.They bury a Strat.!As far as wish it had Gibson has a setup that will allow me to go locking nut with fine tuners on the stop tailpiece w/o any modification to the body. I will do that to one of them soon and will update.

I'm not sure but I think this guitar was made in Korea. It's basically a very good Les Paul Custom copy with a beautiful black finish, gold hardware, block inlays, multi-binding and rosewood fingerboard. The top is arched nicely with the "dishing" around the edges. There were two gold humbuckers which sounded pretty good but tended to feedback. I replaced them with a set of gold humbuckers from a Gibson LP Custom. Sounds even better now with no unwanted feedback. Three-way toggle and two volume and two tone knobs, standard LP layout. The neck radius feels flat with very low action.

Sound : 8
It's sad that the original pickups tended to feedback, because the sound was not half bad, especially for a guitar of this price. But I must say that the replacement Gibson humbuckers made the guitar come alive. It was definately worth the money for this mod.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar seems to be tight and straight. I had my tech re-level the frets and set it up. It's been sweet ever since. One thing that IS worth noting is the quality of the inlay work, which is SUPERIOR to the inlay work on my Gibson, even though the Gibson cost about 10 times as much.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I gig with it regularly. No problems encountered so far. I'm not sure I would ever gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 8
The only contact I had with Cort was when I emailed them to find out what I had bought. They were friendly and gave me the lowdown on the guitar, the name, what years it was produced, etc. The only problem is that I can't really remember any of that info. I must be getting old ..haha

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 27 years and have owned a total of three "real" (i.e., Gibson) Les Pauls. This is hands down the best copy I have encountered. It is far and away superior to the Epiphone Les Pauls. I would describe it this way: Playing this guitar feels 90% there to a Gibson black beauty but at 1/10 the price. That's mighty hard to beat. If it were lost or stolen I would buy another assuming I could find one. I love it because, for gigging purposes, it pretty much does everything for me that a Gibson does without the worry of carrying around such an expensive axe. The only thing I would change would be the fretboard, purely for aesthetic reasons. The rosewood over the black doesn't looks as good as ebony.

modified les paul copy, Korean made, black, all gold hardware( Schaller vintage machine heads, Schaller fixed bridge, Schaller tail stop),Dimarzio PAF humbuckers (gold), full trim, block inlays, very sexy guitar.

the original humbuckers were pathetic, no tone at all. Before I installed the Schaller gear, the guitar would constantly go out of tune, in particular, the G-string. Even now I still have trouble tuning in the G-string.

Sound : 8
I run the guitar through a Marshall AVT20 valvestate combo(LOUD)using a Zoom505-2 effects pedal and sometimes a DOD classic tube pedal.

I like to play a lot of Smashing Pumpkins fuzz, and the Cort does the job well. The Dimarzios have great tone, though the neck humbucker could be a bit brighter.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
action is low so the neck plays fast, factory hardware was a joke, original humbuckers were completely toneless, the bridge was very poor. the G-string always seems out of whack (even with Schaller parts), I think something is out of line at the top.

I'll base the rating on the original set-up.

Reliability/Durability : 9
heavy guitar, beautiful finish, very solid.

I had to replace one strap button though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I deal with my local guitar retailer.

The guitar is a on-going project. The original set-up was poor, but with a few modifications it is becoming better. I plan on doing an over-haul of the electrical components soon.

If it was lost or stolen I'd probably just get a second(or third job) and buy a Gibson Les Paul

Has everything a Les Paul or Les Paul copy should have -- two humbuckers and a three way switch. Mine is black and has gold hardware, but the pickups are uncovered. One says Dimarzio. They don't seem to be original, and I plan on replacing with Gibson pickups. Tuners definitely sucked, I replaced those with Grovers and now it stays in tune reasonably well.

Sound : 6
The sound is reasonable for an inexpensive copy, not as pristine as a real Gibson. Like I say, I'll probably replace the pickups. I like to play blues, hard rock, and Santana-like improv with Tarpaper Shack, and the sound is currently pretty good for my style, but I think that the pickup upgrade will give it more character and edge. I also play with a band called Zion Crossroads, that plays electrified old-time bluegrass, and the in-between setting on the toggle switch gives a pretty nice country twang that's also good for fake pedal steel type bends.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The reason I bought this guitar, besides that it was really cheap, was that the neck felt great. It does have a bit of buzz on the low E string, which I've minimized by slightly raising the action at the bridge rather than springing for a professional fret job just yet, and the action is still pretty good. Damn good looking guitar, though, and will look even better with gold pickup covers.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I use this guitar live all the time, it mostly seems to be built like a tank -- kind of a sexy tank, but a tank nevertheless. One of the inlays did just recently fall out of the neck -- that's never happened to me before! No big deal, I'm told that epoxy dries out every so often. I put it back with a spot of Krazy Glue.

Customer Support : No Opinion
This is a used guitar, I've never dealt with Cort.

Overall Rating : 7
I probably haven't made this sound like a great guitar, but I'm very happy with what I got for $125. I bought it for its evident potential, and expect to be very pleased with the results of planned upgrades. Using the Cort as a basis for customization (tuners, pickups and a bit of fret work), I think I'll end up with something very comparable to a Gibson Les Paul for a third the price. As it is, with just upgraded tuners, I have no problem using this guitar live. But if I'd had to pay anything near the retail price (around $800 US, I believe), there's no way I would have bought it.

Black, Les Paul copy. Has a beautifil finish and craftmanship, full trim and rectangular pearloid fret inlays; arched top(like a Les Paul should be - not like those cheaper "flatter" versions); all gold hardware, (tuners, twin humbuckers, fixed bridge), 2 way toggle switch, 2 tone and 2 volume controls.

Sound : 9
Original sound was poor, the humbuckers sounded muddy with too much bass. I replaced the original humbuckers with a set of gold Dimarzio Classic 57s. The sound is much brighter. Sounds like a Gibson Les Paul.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The tuners seem to be poor. The G-string never tunes in properly(even after getting the harmonics adjusted professionaly. I plan on changing all the hardware with Gibson parts including the tuners, bridge, and Dimarzio selector switch

Reliability/Durability : 8
The guitar is very solid, excellent finish and style. With a few modifications, as mentioned above this guitar would rival a Gibson Les Paul.

Only been playing for a year, just a beginer. I also own a Epiphone Dot semi-hollow electric, and a Alvarez electro-accoustic.

I would also like to own an Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop and a Maton.

I love the Cort because it looks and feels like an expensive Les Paul and because of the ability to modify it.

bought in 1996, still using it.. it was made in Korea. it features 22 frets, 2 volumes, 2 tones, 2 humbuckers, and with black finish. the hardware is gold. single cutaway. pretty basic and clean cut the pick ups gives high outs although it's passive. the guitar itself is very heavy.

Sound : 7
with clean channel, it sounded fine. But with distortion, it sounded like car-crash. when you strum, no individual string sound you can pick up. very muddy. I replaced them with ones from satriani's Ibanez pickup and the whole sound came out very bright. the original pickup are kind of muddy and not bright enough i guess. the lows are very good. it's more like a bass..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
fine.. i think the tuner for G was massed up when i got. and B is going down lately. channel selecter's plastic cap cracked about six months ago and i couldn't find any spare.

Reliability/Durability : 9
very dependale.. i knocked it countless times but it stayed together very well. finishes are sturdy too. tuner are unstable and does not stay in tune well but i could not notice it since i am out and busy playing. i might get a backup with other style of music such as hardcore or punk. but since i love the blues, it alright without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
could not find any shop...

good guitar to start and go on. the tuners and pickups are the most disappointing part and except that, it is a fine guitar. Lasts long and very dependable.

Kick Ass guitar! has a few things that bug me, but that's because I'm used to my Fender Strat.
