Sound : 9
The sound of the guitar is great. The hight frets will sometimes sound a little weak, but thats normal. The sound rings out fluently and loud.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar itself is beautiful. It's neck is strong, as is the body and every other part of the guitar

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've only had the guitar for about 5 months, but I'd be surprised to ever have a problem with reliablity. I play this guitar live more than any other guitars of mine.

Customer Support : 9
I got a warranty that said I could bring it back and replace it if there was a legit reason why, but that depends more on where you get it from. I got it from a small acoustic store. Local stores like that are usually reliable.

Overall Rating : 10
The guitar is perfect. I kind of picked it out on accident, but i'm very lucky to have got this guitar. There is not one thing wrong with it, and i dont suspect there will be any time soon

Sound : 8
Crisp and strong tone, well defined bass, overall tonal balance. A very articulate voice. Great for percussive styles, with a wonderful shimmer to the tone. Harmonics ring out beautifully. Not a lot of overtones in general. Clean, airy, strong. Flatpicks great, very responsive to fingerstyle.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Cort does it well. I believe that this Korean factory is one of the few making things under their own name (Which is a shortened version of the name "Cortez", which was a marketing gimmick in the 60's or 70's. "Cortez" and "Cort" seem to have a cheasy cheap association in some guitarist's minds. I think Cort, Samich, and Korean made guitars in general have really advanced and become - well, not cheasy.)

Very clean and precise all the way. Nice fret work, clean looking materials, seams, etc. Inside is spotless and very neatly assembled.

The dovetail neck joint is a big plus in the minds of many traditionalists. The bracing is clean and very nicely done.

The gloss finish is neat, no overspray, and not heavy as some imports tend to be. The neck finish is satin, and that's a thoughtful touch.

Action was set by store before my purchase - just right for me. Second bridge and shim included in manufacturers package.

Opinion: Cort has pride in the Earth series, and does it well for their own name.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It's a strong guitar, and should endure well.

I've played almost 40 years, and have some very good name guitars.

I wanted a guitar I wouldn't have to worry about, for back yard, camping, cold weather excursions, and running about. I considered some of the better laminated guitars. At the price, I could not rationalize buying a laminated guitar instead of this.

I like the fact that the sides are laminated - this adds some ruggedness.

I guess I'll still tend to "baby" this one, though I won't worry as much about it.

I also had it in mind for outdoor use, where the sound sometimes seems to drift away on the wind. The articulate projection of this guitar works VERY well outdoors.

It's a back-up guitar for me, if not quite a "beater" - but here's the thing: This is a guitar I would be satisfied with as my one and only.

All the features listed so long with fishman classic 4T (built in electronic tuner) and strap button on the neck. For the money the features are better than great! Handcrafted in korea, may 2005.

Sound : 9
Rich full sound with very good bass and nice trebles. Sounds also very nice through the fishman many combinations gives almost any wanted sound! Pretty nice!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action was very badly adjusted from the factory and the guitar sounded poor..I had to adjust the truss rod because the neck of the guitar was like a bow and also used some sand paper on the bridge to lower it.After that it has a great action very low but without any buzzing.
It also has a drop of lacquer on the side of the neck near the joint with the body from factory mistake but its a little one.Everything else is smooth and nice on the finish.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think this guitar will last very long altough i only have it 2 weeks..
I have a good feeling and i will certainly use it on a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No dealt with cort.

I play for about 10 years mainly electric gtr,but i'd like one cheap electroacoustic for playing live and also home studio recordings. When i went to the stores and heard yamaha(no bass) takamine not so good features at price range, garisson simon and patrick etc,all sounded worse than this one.I would certainly buy it again if it was stolen or lost and i love everything about it especially for the price! (I Don't give a ten cause it's not a high end guitar.)

Herstellungsjahr? Keine Ahnung. Im Innern steht "handcrafted in Korea", keine Seriennummer o.a.
Massive Fichtendecke glanzend lackiert, Zargen Mahagony laminiert, Boden massiv Mahagony, Hals Mahagony matt lackiert, Halsfuss angesetzt, Mehrfach kompensierte Stegeinlage.
Grover Tuner... den Rest wisst Ihr schon.

Sound : 10
Ich finde, she sounds great.)

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Grover Tuners is nice. Added ebony end & bridge pins to ditch the plastic. Still have to replace plastic saddle as well. Nice finish, should last. My first guitar a year ago so naturally I overpaid for it. I would pay perhaps $150 - $200 US for it today. Corts are great sounding guitars, and you can get them real cheap because they are not that well known yet.

Sound : 9
Sound is very full, awesome sustain. Some problems with fret buzzing on the low E.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Finish is really good, no concerns. Action is a bit high, but the truss rod is easily accessed and fixd to my liking.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Go's out of tune easy, but I live in the Arctic!! I suppose in better climates tuning wouldn't be a concern. Durable... Yes

Customer Support : 9
Haven't contacted them.

Overall Rating : 10
Great value if you can find one for $150 - $200 US. I just got a Cort MR740FX for $280.00 US!! People just don't know.

The guitar was made in August of 2003. 20 frets. Solid Spruce Top, Solid Mahogany back. No electronics. I beleive it is also mahogany neck and the bridge is a new design. Dreadnought body. Grover tuners.

Sound : 10
Absolutely beautiful sound. Best sound of any guitar I tried (seagull, cort, alvarex, washburn, walden) in the guitar shops around town. Probably due to the solid back, I think it's a great deal for the price. Beautiful intonation.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action was a touch low from the factory, a little frett buzz on the low E string, fixed by technicians at the shop.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
The hardware seems like it will last, I haven't played live, so I probably shouldn't comment.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Fine. Lifetime warranty, haven't had to deal with them (knock on wood).

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for a year. I have a crappy classical guitar (and a digital piano). If this were lost/stolen I'd replace it in a second. The sound is stunning for this price range. I compared with Seagull, Washburn, Walden, Yamaha, Cort (Earh 100), Norman, Simon & Patrick. All had no solid back in same price range. I chose Cort Earth 200 for the sound quality, the bass really comes out and rings.

Basic features: solid spruce top, solid mahogany back, laminate rosewood sides. Grover tuners a plus for this price!

Sound : 8
I like the sound of this ax. Sounds a ton better than the Sigma I upgraded from. Nice and loud. Resonates well for a full sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up fairly well, action a bit high though. No problems at all with the finish or the hardware.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Live playing? Dunno. I play recreationally alone and with friends. The tuners came loose and ended up stripping one of the screws when I tried to tighten it. Aside from that, all works well. This thing stays in tune forever for me. Only has one strap button, had to get the other one put on.

When I saw this ax and saw the price, I immediately headed for the internet to research it. I figured I couldn't go wrong for this price (worked out to about $180 CAD at the time). I wasn't and am still not disappointed. Great ax for the cash. If it got lost or stolen and I could get another for the same price, I'd buy one for sure. All those features for what I paid is unbeatable. But I can't give it a higher rating than an 8 given that it's not a top-end piece of gear.

same features as all the other earth 200s - check the web site.
Bought this one month ago, so that probably makes it a 2003 model.
For the price excellently made - pretty even grain on the the top, decent bookmatching of the back.
I did not place too much stock on the solid mahogany back, since good laminate will be better than shitty timber any day. Buy it on the sound!
For AU$600 you cant expect too much, but it is much better than 20% of a taylor or martin at $3,000!
I liked the overall package, grover tuners, compensated bridge, and excelent build quality. The binding was just a frill for me (not too worried about appearances).
I find the shape a bit easier to hold than others with more rounded upper bouts.
Note that there is no neck strap-button.
Overall a good all-round upper-budget guitar.

Sound : 8
I am just learning, although I have a classical guitar background.
The guitar responds well to phoshour-bronze top strings. I tried a set with the standard ph-b g-bottom e and steel top b & e. I find that sound a bit thin. The martin 12's phosphour-bronze help the overall balance really well.
Again, for the price, I found that it really was a good all-round guitar.
I won't say it was better than guitars twice the price. I will say it was good value for money. Many guitars in the upper-budget bracked tend to have a coloured sound or a sound/balance skewed one way or another. Not this one.
I tried Matons (too harsh and treble), Garrick (too 'in your face')and not than wild on the seagull sound (not to speak of the build quality)an then had to decide between a yamaha, washburn and the cort.
In the end, I saved some money and got the good all-round sound of the cort.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Almost perfect.
Only some *very* minor bits of stain bleed.
The action is just right, everything is straight (neck is excellent all the way).
I really believe that the manufacturing quality control is doing its job.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I am too shithouse to perform (my kids barely put up with me).
I thing the varnish (matte) is possibly a bit thin, but with care the guitar will last ages.
Note that there is no neck strap button!

Customer Support : No Opinion
no. dont expect to.

Overall Rating : 8
I have played (pre-kids) classical guitar for about 10 years.
I realise that the sound is ultimatly in the fingers and attitude of the player first and the guitar second. Having got a decent guitar, I would rather spend up on the teacher and time to practice before I layed out $'000s on a high-end guitar. There is challenge and satisfaction in getting the best out of what you have rather than spinning a credit card across the counter.
I would probably buy the same again, perhaps go for the grand-concert shape 600.

Bought this guitar in Jan 2003, it was made in 2002. Handcrafted in Korea. It has a solid spruce top, with mohagany sides, back and neck. Pretty simple straight forward acoustic with no onboard electronics.

Sound : 8
Fantastic sounding guitar for the price range..........I have had many more expensive guitars that never sounded this good!!! Nice full sound, solid guitar

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I never like any factory set ups, except if it is a wolfgang.........but a few tweaks of the truss and she was nice and easy to play. No cosmetic defects I could notice at all, nice simple inlays, mohagany on the back is gorgeous. Nice binding on the neck.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't it this guitar very long, I only bought this after purchasing a 12 string version of the Earth 200 a few weeks before. Liek I said before good solid guitar, I don't foresee any issues that could affect longevity. The fact I am so impressed withis thing I came right on to add my review should speak volumes....I have been playing for over 16 years, and I don't impress easily......

Customer Support : 9
Couldn't tell you what the service aspect is like for warranty. But I can tell you the sales team is great. My local dealer had to order this for me, and once they found out I had the 12 string as well and was so happy I was ordering this one......they shipped right away. Luckily there was some available, they actually were hard to get around Xmas time they were that popular.

Overall Rating : 10
Like I said before............I have been playing over 16 years and have owned one of everthing at some point. I was a die hard Ovation player, then a Takamine freak. Now I own this and the 12 string version of the Earth 200 series from Cort. I would definately replace it if it was lost or stolen. Best bang for your buck in the price range. Compared against some other Takamines and such.
