I can not add to what has already been said.
seems however little has been said about the solid backs.
lam sides.

came with locking hardshell case

Sound : 10
just read the others.
they are not stretching here.
beautiful sounds.

two other acoustics in the house right now - one is a custom / one of a kind. they both are Jumbos - and they pale to this sweetheart.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
bought this gal at 2 yrs. old

if they come this way from the factory - amazing!

Reliability/Durability : 8
being 2 yrs. old - she looks fantastic.
previous owner must have cared for her well.

it will not be drug around from one place to another however.

Customer Support : No Opinion
honestly can not say.

original retailer was top notch and praised Corts customer service.

Overall Rating : 9
though I have no Martin or Gibson or Gretch to compare to.
I will leave them a 10.
Seems like I am being unfair to the Cort however.

Features : 10
Solid cedar top, grand concert size, grover tuners, scale I don't know, standard neck width(not oversized, which I find would be better for fingerpicking), fantastic pick-up system(any studio will provide...).
Nice package, everything is neatly done, made with pride perhaps.
For the price asked, 12.

Sound : 10
Waow. Very warm, gorgeous while definite (not like a D), and with a pick has a very bluesy growl. It is the first acoustic I play that doesn't sounds shrill when played savagely with a pick, I think I know why: the solid cedar top is far thicker than usual.
In fact I put the cheaper acoustic strings, those that sounds brighter, to balance the very full sound of this guitar. Otherwise I found it to be on the dark side, tricky when playing with fingers.
Do not misunderstand me, though, it has the best sound you can find at the price and three times the price.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Perfect, it's why I really think it's made with pride.
No flaws, only problem I encountered was with the strap button, read on

Reliability/Durability : 7
It is a solid guitar, if only for the thick cedar top. It is very well made, I don't see it breaking or so.
BUT: I broke it, because of the strap button! It just popped off while I was standing and setting my sound processor, I couldn't catch the neck and the headstock smashed on the floor.
No big deal, except for the looks though. Hey, the guitar was almost new!So it is a ten, but I take off 3 points for the button. I should have installed a top notch one, firmly secured.Lesson learned.

Customer Support : 1
I live in switzerland, and the cort responsible didn't want to repair or replace the guitar after the falldown. I think it was to be covered by the warranty, though, because it is not my fault if the strap button came loose.
So not only did I get my feelings hurt, but I now really think he is an ***hole. And I didn't purchase any items he sells.
My dealer did his best, though.

Overall Rating : 10
I sold this guitar because of the lack of cutaway. I understand that its fantastic sound is also due to this. But I can't do without cutaway, being first an electric player.
I like to play john-al stuff, and also blues and fingerstyle a la woody mann &co, and for the latest you can't find a better guitar.
First it sounds and plays top, and you can take it with you wherever you go because of the low price.
So it is really the (maybe) only roots-blues guitar.
Have a lot of fun with it, as I had

Read other reviews, I've got nothing new to say here.
(just a word about the appearance: older models were all finished in satin, newer ones offer a choice of satin or glossy and abalone rosette was added instead of plastic. Mine is a new one finished in satin)

Sound : 10
My rating here is for what this guitar is: a grand concert (=small) guitar.
The bass response in the lowest range is rather shallow but very quick with a good definition. Low-mid and midrange have more dense and drammatic character. You can clearly feel the tension in sound in this register. The higher-mid an high range is where this guitar really excells. The response here is incredible: it sings, it weeps, it cries, it can be heart-breaking sweet and gentle. On the other side it can cut through the air like a blade with an eagle-eye focus and it does it all in a well-mannered yet open fashion. It literally begs for expressive and dynamic soloes with a plenty of string bending.
When strummed, the sound is airy and less focused but open with good string separation and fantastic sustain. It is not the most powerful thing you've seen and lack of bass response only adds to that impression. It handles even hard strumming with dignity, the sound never becomes a mess (strum a martin 000 really hard and you'll know what i mean), only really loud but not really powerful. Clearly, the size and rather light construction of the instrument suggest fingerstyle and flatpicking. For that, it's perfect.
I use martin 12's and I wouldn't recommend any heavier for this guitar. It can also be very expressive with 10's.
The transition among the tonal ranges is seamless which makes recording easier. Capo users will also highly appreciate that (no dead spots along the neck)
Bottom line: I love the sound of this guitar (and I'm not the only one). Even the price ten times higher would be justified considering the sound, so I guess should rate it 100?:)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Factory settings were far from perfect but still playable. I had to lower the action at nut as well as at the saddle although I do not prefer it very low. Fretwork is nice and even. Neck curve is perfect and the tuners work great. No flaws in satin finish and even the inside workmanship is ok.
The visual appearance is another story. I realize it is subjective but still, it is not amnong the nicest looking instruments. It looks cheap (well ok, it really is:). The colour of the top should be decided more tastefully. Natural colour of the cadar is darker than spruce and poorly saturated and that's what this guitar looks like. I've seen some breathtaking finishes with red or dark brown tint on some classical instruments with cedar tops including my alhambra 9c so I try to never show them together. Back and sides look ok. The woods are flawless (including the top) but boring. Glossy finish improves things much (they had 2 of these where I bought it, one satin, one glossy but the first one had better fretwork, slightly more open sound and more accurate intonation so I took that one). I wouldn't go so far and call it ugly but it's near. The only exception here is the neck. It's made of a single piece of mahogany with incredible 3D tiger stripes pattern. Dark and light stripes switch appearance depending on the angle of light. It's confusing how such an exceptional piece of wood found it's way to be a part of this cheap guitar especially considering the rest of it being so dull. I guess it showed its beauty only after cutting, sanding and finishing.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Construction is light but firm and the braces are said to detach from the cedar top quite more easily than spruce, however, no problems yet

No need to deal with Cort

Overall Rating : 10
The last thing I needed when I bought it was another grand concert but I couldn't resist giving it a try. The sound was so fine and it was so cheap I ended up bringing it home and forgot I'd actually wanted to buy a set of nylon strings:) Acting on instints isn't what I usually do but after 30 years of playing I know instantly when I pick a great instrument and this was it. I have an old martin 000-28 which certainly sounds different but I can't say better than Cort and that's a bit frustrating. I've played four taylors 712 lately in my search for the ultimate small acoustic but again, I can't say they sounded better. For the price, 10 is the only possible overall rating.

The guitar was made in 2003 in Korea. It has a solid top (cedar) and a solid back (mahogany). No electronics. Mahogany neck. Rosewood fretboard with plastic binding. Satin finish. Grand concert body, approx. 370 cm wide at lower bout. Rosewood bridge called "scoop bridge" by the factory. Grover tuners (very good). Thin neck (less wide than a Taylor). No accessories included except for a spare bridge pin and a plastic saddle.

Sound : 5
I play most fingerstyle and the guitar doesn't seem addicted to this.
It would rather suit blues or strumming in my opinion. The notes aren't enough definted and the overall sound seems very boxy. I'm not staisfied with it but I needed a concert sized guitar for an affordable price. I also hope that solid top will increase its response with time.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Not perfect action, but acceptable. Very good looking woods and overall appereance. No flaws in construction.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think the guitar is enough solidly made to last a lifetime if not abused.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealed with the company.

I've benn playing for ten years and the most beautiful guitar I owned in my opinion was an artwood ac 900 made by Ibanez that I sold and I regret it. Even the Taylor 412 that I actually own doesn't seem to compare with the Ibanez. The Cort earth 200gc is enough good but the boxy sound is a very high defect. I hope Cort will work on this side.

Steel string acoustic, no electronics. Grand Concert size (medium, like a classical guitar). Solid cedar top, solid mahogany back, laminated mahogany sides, mahagony neck, rosewood fretboard w. plastic bindings, small abalone decos on neck and head, Grover tuners. Made in Korea 2003. "Natural" colors, glossy finish. Neck is neither thick nor thin, I guess, but very comfortable.

Sound : 8
Good sound. Not too strong in bass since it's a small guitar. Original strings were Elixir nanoweb, too bright for me (sort of metallic) but I changed to SIT Royal Bronze on advice from web and I like it very well. Elixir polywebs might be good too. Excellent resonance. I play only finger style (and guitar comes with no pick guard, so probably meant for that).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I've found no flaws in construction or finish, and I looked. For my taste the white binding on fretboard and the glossy finish are a little trashy looking, but not too bad, and others may like them. (And the gloss finish is very tough.) The woods and abalone decos look good. Set up from factory/shop was good. I eventually changed to slightly lighter strings and liked the action better, but it was good from the start. The Grover tuning machines work very well.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar is solid but not built like a tank. I think it will stand up well to normal use (I've had it for a year with no problems) but I'd hesitate to play it in a crowd. But I'm fussy -- I hate scratches. Strap button is plastic, which some have criticized; I don't use it but wouldn't hesitate to.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Cort run a good web site with tech support that answers questions promptly. I bought the guitar on the web from a Cort dealer on the East Coast (a good transaction) so I won't be taking it back to the shop. I think the warranty is "lifetime."

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing about a year. This is my 3rd guitar with no plans for another. I bought it for the combination of size and sound (dreadnoughts hurt my shoulder) -- read a lot of reviews first and tried all the "folk" and GC sized guitars I could find in Seattle, not many. Liked the Simon & Patrick a little better maybe, but $200 more at least. Tried one other Cort GC but it was the wrong color, gambled on this one from the Net and won. It's not perfect but it's very nice -- sound, playability, and finish.

Hand made in Korea!?! Perfectly as far as I can see. Solid cedar top & solid mahogany back with very nice satin finish. Looks, feels & sounds really nice. The only beef I have is that the strap button (there's only one!) is one of those little plastic ones - I'll probably replace it with a proper one before using it.

Sound : 10
Superb sound. It's a Grand Concert model which means it's relatively compact, but it really doesn't sound that way. For finger picking it is really top class, but give a good thrash with a pick and it growls with the best.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The only flaw I found was a loose piece of wood that somehow found its way into the cavity of the guitar. Once I shook that out (took a while), it seems close to perfect in terms of finish. The action is great and the Grover tuners work very well.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Too early to say, but there's not much that can go wrong unless I bash it about (which I don't intend to do)

Been playing for 25 years and as far as I'm concerned this is the second best buy I've ever made (I have a 20 year old Yamaha classical guitar which now sounds superb). The sound is just fantastic for the money and with the solid cedar top I expect it to improve with playing.

Solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, and grand concert size. A beautiful but not a flashy guitar but who cares. The sound and the beautiful craftmanship more than make up for it. If you like features go buy a telecoustic or statacoustic.

Sound : 10
WOW!!. I just got this guitar and I am absolutely amazed!! The sound is about as good as it gets! A rich full sound with just the right mix of treble, mid, and bass. I play mostly fingerpicking and it is perfect. Strumming the guitar produce a great tone that Reminds me alot of my friends taylor only the price tag is better:) A 10 if there ever was one.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is where the guitar really surprised me! I expect a pretty nice tone with the solid cedar top but I did not expect the absolutely gorgeous craftmanship that I got with this guitar. People this guitar is done right. The quality of the wood is up there with ANY, I REPEAT ANY GUITAR MAKER!! The solid top cedar has a very tight even grain as well as the mahogany back/sides. Bookmatched perfectly. I own a very nice flashy alvarez fd69 acoustic/electric with all the features but I must say the craftmanship of the cort is right there with it. NO glue showing aywhere in the body and the action is perfect! I am impressed!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I believe this guitar will be very durable and last a lifetime. Of course cedar is a softer wood so you don't need to banging into stuff all the time. The same goes with the satin finish. But treated decent and not abused it will last a long long time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with them.

I my advice is check out these cort acoustics especially this model. Don't be afraid of the name. These guitars are really coming into their own. Just play one and decide for yourself! Before i got this guitar I had never ever heard much about cort guitars. I have always owned alvarez, talylor, etc. But for around 200 dollars these guitars pay for themselves and then some.

I have a cort 200 GC acoustic guitar. It is a great Guitar made in Korea. I have played guitars that cost 6 times what this cost ($289 w/gig bag) and this still has a better sound to it. I was looking for a plain looking guitar, nothing to fancy, and i immediately fell in love with this. As soon as i saw the proce i new i had to have it.

This is a very plain looking guitar. I traded it for a Cort Earth 900 which is far prettier. It has a solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides. Tuning machines are Grover and the fingerboard and bridge sre rosewood. The body and neck are bound with ivoroid plastic and nut and saddle are plastic too. It has a medium neck with 14 frets to the body. The body is Grand Concert size which is smaller then Dreadnought or Jumbo size.
Included in the box are an Allen key for neck adjustment, a spare saddle and shims for action setting as well as a spare bridge pin.

Sound : 10
As one who plays with a thumb-pick and nails, I find the tone amazing for a guitar of this size. I have played everything from Martins and Gibsons to Yamaha, Washburn and Ibanez in the last 30 years and find this guitar to have the best balance for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I received the guitar with rather old strings which were probably medium or medium/light. I have since fitted light strings and find the factoory setup superb. The finish is good and the woods are well chosen. The satin finish is thin and does not inhibit the tone.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Having only just bought the guitar I cannot comment on this but I have found Cort instruments to be durable in the past.

I would say that his is the best value for money I have come across for my style of music. I have played and owned more expensive instruments but have always ended up selling or trading them. I only own one guitar so it has to be right. I tried three different 200GC's before choosing this one. It was not the best looking but definitely had the best tone and action. The body size is also extremely comfortable to play.

Very cool, Grand Concert size acoustic. I looked and looked for a guitar like this, but they seem to have fallen out of favor with many players. Everyone seems to want dreadnoughts or jumbos, which are wonderful in their own right, but I wanted a more delicate, "old-timey" sounding fingerpicking guitar. Thanks, Cort!

Solid cedar top (delicious!), mahogany everywhere else. Very simple guitar with no fancy inlays or other appointments. Satin finish. Grover tuners (nice). Rosewood (?) bridge, f/board, and headstock veneer.

My grumbles: saddle and nut are plastic. I will be replacing them with bone, though Cort specifies that any modifications to the guitar will void the warranty. I would rather have paid a little more and had these features stock. Also, plastic fingerboard binding. I just happen to prefer unbound boards.

Sound : 10
The tone, oh, the tone... Absolutely lovely, rich sounding, yet delicate. I mostly am a fingerstyle player, and this guitar really does it for me. The top responds beautifully to nuances of technique, from breathy, airy strums, to snarly pops with sharp attack. Played with a pick, the tone is unbelievably full. Django would have loved it...

Now, with a bone nut and saddle, it should be even better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Very nicely constructed. No sloppy glue blobs, no off-center dot markers, no scratches, dings, etc. Top is beautifully matched, as is the back.

However, that being said, the frets are pretty rough. Will get them dressed straight away (probably voiding the warranty again). As I said earlier, I would rather pay a little more and have them well-dressed from the factory.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Only had it a short time...

Warranty is lifetime, as long as you don't go doing anything rash like putting a bone nut or saddle on it. Or, if Cort gets bought by some other company. I've had lifetime warranties go south on me this way before, wherein the new parent company refused to honor the original warranty.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing 20+ years, and have owned a lot of guitars, high end, low end, and everything in between. This one is a real honey, and for the price, it's unbeatable. I played a 1960 Martin concert size (I forget the model) a few weeks ago, which sounded and played very similarly, but was ticketed at six times the price.

If the Earth 200 GC were stolen or lost, I'd definitely go find another one, though I'd want to play a few. Of the two in the store, the one I purchased definitely sang for me a little more.

A little sidebar: I checked out half a dozen Cort dealers in my area, and only one of them was interested in ordering in a concert size guitar. The others all tried to get me interested in a jumbo or a dreadnought (of which I have a few already), and indicated that concerts were oddities and that no one would be interested in them. Go figure.

Small bodied blues style guitar, solid top, satin finish.12 fret Martin type copy, very plain but that's O.K.,

Sound : 10
I had been looking for a small body blues style acoustic for some time and kept trading along. 1st aYamaha, then an Ibanez (both these had a single cut-away and active piezo electronics)My local guitar shop was just waitig for me to come in so they could get my opinion on the Cort. When I saw it on the wall I went straight to it and haven't put it down since. I believe that the small boby gives better projection and that a cut-away spoils the resonance. I don't like piezo electronics for blues style playing I just use a Dean Markley sound hole pickup that only when I want amplification. This particular guitar absolutely is the best I ever played. It is relatively inexpensive (around $475 cnd.) My friend has a Martin OM and my Cort makes the Martin sound pitiful when it comes to volume and tone keeping in mind that I'm only looking for a delta blues/fingerpicking style guitar. I have two dreadnought style guitars for the pretty full sound, however I don't play them much because I'm really dedicated to blues. This guitar is great, however since I bought this one I've tried other guitars of exactly the same model and make and they didn't even compare (I guess everyone gets lucky now and then). I don't have unlimited funds but I would have paid two or three times that amount to be satisfied, (I play a G@L Legacy Special and an American Telecaster through a tweed 2/12 Fender Blues Deville for my electric rig). If you can try a few of these Cort Earth 200Gc's out you might just find a great one like I did. Could't be happier!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
No flaws. the satin finish has held up well in the year and a half that I've had it. The guitar isn't strikingly beautiful but it's OK. Played great from factory until I changed strings, usually use D'addario's but they just don't work great on this guitar. tried lot's of strings and couldn't get the sound back. finally settled on SIT Royal Bronze and that did the trick.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything's holding up good so far.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No cause to deal with them yet.

Playing for 15 years. My other stuff is pretty high end so this was a real find. If I lost it or it was stolen I would surely grieve. I would try to replace it with same make and model but would not hold my breath for to long because I think I got extremely lucky on this one. Others did not compare (same make and model)
