Really, it's called the "Cort Electric Guitar"! I think it's early to mid 70's judging from my slightly twisted recolection of those times, no case (it's so cheesy it doesn't warrent one). It's kinda shaped like a Strat with SG looking pointy horns, really small plywood body with a short neck that looks like it's made outta balsa wood! Rosewood looking fretboard, ratty looking red finish that looks like it came from a spray can, two very cheesy pickups with one vol and one tone control. The most interesting feature of this guitar is that whammy bar, it looks like something off a mid 60's Fender but works much, much worse...it's so bad it's cool!

Sound : 7
Ultimate cheap axe cheese! When you run both pickups together, they swing so far out of phase it's actually kinda cool with an almost Venture's surf guitar tone. I'm afraid to try it with any of my good gear, since it might rub off and make all my better stuff sound just as crappy as it does! Can't bitch for a guitar my son found in someone's trash though!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
The action is really weird feeling, it's miles high but the string tension is still non existant. Fit and finish are as bad as you would expect from a guitar that probably cost $40 new in the 70's, this is the sort of axe that J.C. Penney's sold to unexpecting parents who were trying to prove to their kids tht they are still cool, so they got them an electric guitar for Christmas!

Reliability/Durability : 5
I don't think I would trust this axe to be a reliable oar for a canoe, let alone an instrument for live gigging! However, it has survived relatively unscathed for about thirty years and everything still works, so I guess it's not too bad after all!

Customer Support : No Opinion
What customer support? You mean from the local Sanitation Dept.?

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since they invented dirt, I own a Hamer Vecor flying V and an Epiphone Ganasis from the 70's, along with a few amps, a couple generic acoustic guitars and an 83 P-Bass. In comparison with my other gear, this guitar is quite simply horrible! On the other hand, as a free guitar that my son actually FOUND and brought home for me to clean up so he can learn how to play, it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen...my boy finally wants to play! Woohoo!
