Standard...22 frets, 5 way switch.

The G250 was the first guitar I've owned and I still love it. It's great value for money and I still play it when I don't want to take my favorite Fender with me (hotels, etc.). But I have to be honest...it's just a cheap basswood guitar and anyone who rates it a 9 or a 10 has never played a good guitar.

The quality was really amazing. I had to adjust the action a bit.

Great reliability, good quality, no problems so far.

Even after many years of playing it's still a nice guitar. Great guitar for beginners or as a backup.

the guitar has some nice features, it wasn't my first guitar and though it is a beginner guitar it ahs some novice credibility too.
it looks good, sounds pretty good for it's price. in general i does have some nice features : it has several kinds of tones pretty variable, thanks to the 5 way switch and the tone knob. it sounds somewhat grungy/bluesy, but can rock too!
for it's price it is great guitar. im giving it a seven because after all, i ain't no gibson...

it sounds like mentioned above, grungy and bluesy. it's no metal guitar for instance. the styles it can handle would be : (hard/classic) Rock, Punk,Blues, and some Jazz like things too. it is quite versatile and although it won't handle no metal. it in my opinion more of a rythm guitar because the sound is not amazing and spectacular anough to play one hour of interesting lead parts. if have used it at live gigs (about 1 hour) and it stood it's ground pretty well. played it with a vox and a marshall so far and sounds good on both, better on the marshall but what did you expect!
sounds good for an intermediate/beginner guitar

the guitar looked nicely and played good in the beginning and with some maintenace it keeps on sounding good. smallinvestements and adjustements will be inevitable if want to keep the sound of a reasonable quality. you'll have to put some light stirngs on, ernie ball's regular slinky work good, and there is a slight problem with the bridge. apparently (i never experienced this problem however i think i know why) the wood between the bridge and the pickup holes is not thick enough causing the wood to crack on some occasions, however iof you tighthen the tremelo feathers, located at the abck of your guitar, you will minimalize the pressure on this piece of wood and you shouldn't have any trouble. if for some reason the wood does crack it can be replaced at your local guitar shop easily, or by yourself if you're a handyman :). for the rest the guitar is well made.

i have played it live it whitstand it , no problems here, it has alsted for two year now, haven't got the slightest problem with it, so it's gonna last a long time. it i's builded pretty sturdy, it's not ultra thin like ibanez guitars but more like a chunk of wood like gibsons. keeping that piece of wood in mind taht might crack, it might be more fragile guitar but, since i ahven't had that problem after about 1.5 year of playing...
the strap buttons are solid however i have replaced them, not the guitar's fault but my strap's fault, with straplocks by dunlop.
it did the gig quite good, it was about an hour of playing so yeah it managed. the wireing seems allright however it brought it in for maintenace once and had the guitar cleaned, removed dust, adjust the action intonation and pretty much a good cleaning :p. i suggest you do the same 'cos it sounded much better afterwards!!!

never tried sending it back to the ompany, i think it is useless too, you'd better go to your guitar dealer if you have a problem rather than sending it to korea or wherever it was built. i don't think i had a warranty but anyway, never had trouble so wasn't necessary.

i have been playing it for about a year and a half and am very pleased. however i'm gonna buy a new guitar one of these days a more professional one. since this was a guitar i bought as an intermediate/beginner guitarist. now it's jsut boring me i want a new sound however i still plays good. perhaps you d have to change the buckers and coils after a while, after a year or two the buckers on a guitar usualy lose their punch, on any guitar anyway.
a great beginner guitar, useful for more advanced players too, it's cheap and versatile, plays easily, nicely it is a smooth machine, it looks good, overal great guitar for it's price (about 300USD).

Finished in the lovely (well I think it is !)translucent blue, strat style, basswood body, Wilkinson bridge, bolt on 22 fret neck, S/S/H pickups, 5 way selector switch, tone and volume pots.

I've coupled this with my Peavey Envoy 110 Amp and when it's played on the neck pickup it's got a really nice clean dreamy sound which suits me perfectly for bluesy soloing. If I'm feeling a bit more like a blast and want to play rock I find it plays equally as well through my Marshall. Overall, I love it.

I found the set up to be not too bad when I bought it, I just had to adjust the intonation. The only real flaw I found was that the srings were tarnished quite badly, you could feel the roughness without really trying, but the guy in the shop was happy to supply me with a new set for free and offered to fit them, but I was happy to fit these myself.

I've not gigged this guitar live but have used it for rehearsal and play it almost every day and it stays in tune fairly well, overall it feels well built. I only had one problem when the top strap button let go of my strap and sent it to earth with a bump, luckily it landed on the carpet at home and I was still holding the neck so no damage. A new set of locking buttons sorted this.

Not had any reason to contact anyone regarding this.

I've been playing for 7 years and this replaced my tired out Squire Strat. I bought this on guitar as it just caught my eye, plus the fact it was on offer, due to a special deal that week. As far as I'm concerned I got a very good deal. I did try out quite a few other guitars and kept coming back to the G250. I also have a Tokai Loverock and a Tanglewood acoustic. If it were stolen or lost I'd be quite hapy to have another one.

Satin finish, strat style, 22 frets, volume tone, 5 way selector, S/S/H pickups, maple all around. All of these features for the price make this guitar very desirable.

This guitar suits my rock and roll, bluesy rock style perfectly, although I don't have a good quality amp, I am in the process of aquiring something of higher quality. Not the brightest sounds ever, but its not insigficicant. The tone knob is a bit noisy when popping it up and down to divide the humbucker.

Action was great out of he shop, his guitar is like playing on glass, the smoothest neck I've ever played. pickups were adjusted well, however I managed to put a small dent in the neck on a slight drop. The trem and w-bar sound great and feel rock solid, a definate inprovment from earlier models.

I haven't played this guitar live simply because I'm not in a band, but the hardware and finish feel like they're in it for the long haul. Strap buttons have definatley improved from older models, located on the end of a cut away piece, I haven't lost a strap yet, and I've been using it since 26 Dec 2005. This guitar is also not too heavey or too light, it isnt uncomfortable to play for a long time.

Haven't had any problems other than a simple neck adjustment at the shop I bought it from.

I've been playing for round about 2 1/2 years and I plan on keeping this guitar for years to come, my other guitar is a Norman B18 and a small crappy amp. If this guitar was stolen I'd go and buy another one the next day, the action is so smooth, and the 5 way selector gives the player a full range of sounds to play with. Overall, wonderful guitar, especially for the price.

this guitar is the most incredible guitar i have played to date, and she suits my style perfectly. i lean towards the bluesier strat style clean sounds, and this handles them perfectly. run thru a marshall mg250 amp, which obviously isn't the best setup ever, but it can handle pure clean sounds, rich bluesy sounds, and even hi gain rock sounds thanks to the bridge bucker. this is easily the most versatile guitar in this price range that i have seen, an i wish that i had found it when i first started playing 5 years back, an i could have saved myself lots of money!

i bought it an took it straight home an started playing, couldn't wait. the factory setup was pretty good, although i will still get it set up professionally i think, just because it was included in the price-just waitin til i pass the shop again. in fact, i think that playin this guitar actually improved my playin, since it's so easy to use
the guitar itself was in a perfect condition, and i really couldn't fault it for a bog standard off the shelf affair, save one scratch to the finish underneath the bridge

this guitar hasn't been gigged yet, but has withstood plenty of band practises, and i would totally trust it live, although i would have my electro/acoustic there as a backup just in case (you never know)
the strap buttons were solid enough, although the strap did fall off durin one practise, so i quickly replaced them with schallers-the problem is that the standard buttons are huge, so you may need to fill the hole in a little before you attempt this. everythin else about this guitar is solid, an i can see nothin that would go wrong with it in the foreseeable future, and it will certainly last me

playing 5 years, although only really got serious within the last 2, aside from this i have a 335, which i was in love with until i realised that the sound was too harsh for me, and i wish i had found this before shelling out much more money for a guitar that wasn't as good.i also play an ibanez v series electro acoustic which i love to bits, although this guitar is in a different league
there is nothin i hate about this guitar, except for the roller nut which clicks on big bends-this isn't a problem when playin LOUD of course!everythin about this guitar speaks quality, way above its price tag-this is an ideal beginners guitar right thru to semi pro i'd say, so long as you're not bogged down with brand names, you won't regret this. if it were stolen, i'd club the thief to death with my 335 cause it weighs a ton, an would save me sellin it on ebay

The Cort can produce any sound I'm capable of making, played through a s/hand Laney 30watt Hardcore amp. The amp hums like a 747 but the guitar is perfect

Perfect out of the box. Played in the shop, and neck tension was sound and even tuning required little attention. Does tend to get to go slightly out of tune though after over-enthusiastic use of trem. and bending. Slightly noisy pickup selector.

Pretty sure that, without an act of wanton vandalism on my part, this guitar will outlast me! Solid and well finished with no faults I've been able to find.

Came with a warranty card geared to the USA market! Pretty sure won't need it.

I bought this guitar on an impulse after buying a Yamaha 'starter kit' for my teenaged son, and having not touched a guitar since the mid-60s when my dad bought me a Futurama - anybody remember those? It was bought for fun, and in the three days I've had it, has not disappointed. I went into the shop intent on a Tele or Strat, but after trying this was convinced of its quality and value for money.

Nice contemporary strat type body made of light swamp ash, two tone sunburst finish, very beautiful.
It has a S-S-H set o MigthyMite pickups, a nice Wilkinson bridge, roller nut and push pull knob.
Neck is very confortable, with a rosewood scale.
It comes with a crap cable and extra spings for bridge adjustment.
A very usefull set up, with excellent playability. Cover a wide range of musical styles.

It suites my stylevery well, since I play all kinds of music.
My gear is as simple as it gets: Cort G250 -> Vamp2 -> PC for recording.
The 2 singles make some noise at high gain settings, but that's normal and the humbucking, of course is quiet.
I am very happy with the overall sound I get from this guitar. The MigthyMite pickups really surprised me in a very good way.
It delivers the typical strat sound, with a bit more output than standard mexicans strats for instance, and nice dirty sounds from the humbuking ( it has tone control ).
Due to its pickups configuration, you can go from jazz to metal with this baby, always with lots of tone.

It came with a 0.9 string set and I changed it to 0.10. An extra spring was necessary to keep the bridge ate the right position, but in the end of the process action and intonation were perfect with no need os truss rod adjustment.
The bridge pickup was a bit to close to the strings, easily fixed.
No flaws at all.

I think it will last forever.
The only drawback is the position of the strap button that fits behind the body and may cause it to fall from your shoulders if you dont take care.
Of course I would gig with it. Is is a professional guitar, in the studio or at stage.

Never deal with them.

I've been playing since I was 15, I am 30 now and have had about 20 different guitars including the G260 model.
Cort make some real nice guitars, with low price and lots of features.
I completely love it . Sound, look, playability, versatility, everything is perfect. A REAL bang for the buck, almost unbelivable.
I had a mexican strat from 1999, with virtual vintage pickups and, I can tell you, this baby plays, feels and looks much better for less than half of fender price.
If you find a G250 or a G260 don't think, just buy it. You wont regret, and if you do, sell it to me ( hehe ).

A Huge step up from S series which are solely for beginners. This one can be used by pros if setup with good strings, etc.
Brilliant narrow maple neck, also nice and smooth reducing friction for moving up and down neck with ease. Basswood cut-away body- very nice shape and compact feel about it. Hum-sing-sing Mighties set-up with coil tap on hum at Wilkison bridge. Easy tuning and pretty good tune keeping if your trempad springs are well tensioned and intonation good (as well as having good strings -not too heavy gauge!) For a bolt-on neck it has bloody good sustain. It only has 22 frets but this guitars for beginners to intermediates anyway so who's really going to use 24 or more at this stage of their career? Easily adjustible truss rod through neck (watch out!!! Don't play around with this if you're not sure how. One turn too far and your whole neck's a disaster scenario. Take it to a pro rather) Entire guitar is comfortable in weight and feels good! All in all it has a nice variety of features and produces versatile tone for heavy stuff to mellowed out rock (maybe even jazz if you don't have an expensive carvetop to play on) It has a tremelo Pad with W-bar which is cool though I don't use it much because I'm scared the thing might break (see why in reliability)

I use the Humbucker for my distortion sounds because the sustain and tone are suited to this (fuller and more defined). I haven't found opportunity to use my middle single pickup but sometimes share it with my humbucker to get an inbetween sound for some overdrive sounds.
My neck single I sometimes like to think creates a tube like sound when played with overdrive/blues effects giving a deep purple kind of overdrive like in Smoke on the water. It removes the hectic crunch of the humbucker and opens the sounds up. The same pick up gives a funky clear sound with amp clear which is nice and bright for light rock or chilled parts of songs. Howver, one must clean the pick ups and especially the switch every now and then cause dust gets in and causes static sounds when switching between pickups. Overall it suits my syle which is hard rock to 80's hairmetal but i play rhythm and don't solo much in my band so for a rhythm guitar it is excellent. But HELL, of course you can solo on it.!!! Ive played for 7 years and it's been my only guitar and I was lead guitarist with it in my prev band so i had to solo with it. You can solo with anything if you need really to!! One problem is the sound the humbucker-turned-single (haha) with coiltap up gives. I find this setting dull and useless but perhaps that's just becasue my style doesn't corrolate with it.

I got this guitar on a 1 G discount (that is, in South African currency) about 100 quid in GB (thanks mom!!) It was already set-up by the shop with good strings, etc. so I don't know how well the factory set it up. Pick up adjustment is good except for one fatal disaster on which I'll ellaborate in Reliability section, involving humbucker positioning at bridge. I love the action of this guitar considering it's extremely reasonable price. If one uses really light gauge strings skating on the thin ice of Finger Cutting gauge, bending is a dream and fast riffs become easier along with sound enhancement. Bridge routing? Hell I don't know what the hell happened (see below)

Yesss...hmmm. Well, I'm sure this guitar would last extremely well into any players career (parts are solid, well made and hardy) if it weren't for the bloody bridge-humbucker setup. I found out about this manufacturing fault from the workshop guy i told you about above after I had it cleaned and serviced. apparently the peice of wood separating the humbucker and trempad bridge (namely, the meat)on these models is made way to thin and this causes the tension in the strings to over time pull the bridge through the wood causing the wood to crack. The guy showed me the cracks that were concealed under the bridge (only noticeable on careful observation) and told me that the problem wasn't a catastrophe and that I could get it fixed by him. This fault doesn't cause huge playing problems for those who haven't got a good ear to hear the out of tune result i.e. bad players don't know the difference. The main cause is that you cannot move the intonation fasteners on the trempad backwards to reach perfect intonation (Intonation involves the open notes being exactly in tune with their higher octaves at the top of the neck by manipulation of string stretch-span ratio) . In my case there was an obvious flattening (flat and sharp) on for instance the 12th fret E because i couldnt move my fasteners further backwards without "SNAP!!!" Therefore, if your model is suffering the same misdemeanor get it rectified!!! It's a simple process involving regrouting and inserting a stronger thicker piece of wood inbetween the bridge and pickup.

I have no idea what the warranty is but i saw on their site that you had to pay to get manufacturing defects fixed if you hadn't bought it the previous day. This sucks and it means i have to pay for packaging to Indonesia and repairs. I have a pro guitar workshop guy here that fixes these faults for cheap cheap.

It's my first guitar and I love it!!! Even though it had that serious manuf. fault, it was still wondeful to play. And now that it's fixed, it's in top mint condition. If you're interested in buying one first get it checked out or buy a better model. If you already have one, I'd advise either getting it checked out for the fault i mentioned and fixed (remember it's a non-bullshit process and doesn't affect sound or playability in any negative way) or trying to get a refund or trade in. The reason I'm sure it's a general fault is that the guitar workshop had 3 other G250s in that and the previous weeks with the same crap. It's your choice and all in all it's a damn beautiful starting guitar and kick's ass!!! I wouldn't buy it again but I know that cort makes good quality (same factory that makes Ibanez) and I might try one of the Katana or M series guitars by Cort or go for Epiphone LPaul for lead guitar. Hell!!! Depends on availibility of cash. Money trees don't grow in this guy's garden!

It sounds great for the price! i play using a Marshall AVT and i can get this guitar to sing with the single coils and scream with the humbucker. ;) Depending on what amp you use. You can get a huge range of sounds from blues to hardcore punk.

It's a good solid guitar and i had no problems playing live with this guitar. The hardware will last you ages and the finish (blue) looks lovely!

I tried the yamaha pacifica112 and the cort G250 and this guitar was better. I found the humbucker on the pacifica112 to be slightly weak, the trem was slightly poor. I highly reccomend the cort G250 to anyone looking for a REALLY GOOD beginer priced guitar or the intermediate guitarist looking for good guitar at a great price. ;)

Made in Indonesia. Features as given above. Bought in 2003 from Scheerers in Leeds (good dealer). Well finished. I love the translucent red. Specification higher than normal for the price. Oozes quality and class. Mighty Mite pickups better than average. Action a shade high but easy to play nevertheless. Lowe action might bring some fret buzz.

Used with a Fender Champion 30 DSP. I thought about the Marshall MG30DFX but the Fender sounds good with the Cort and has more varied FX. It's subjective, really. There is some Hum on all settings but it isn't too intrusive. I don't play metal or punk; that's probably why this combination suits.

Reasonably set up. I may adjust the action a bit. No flaws.

All seems excellent. I don't gig but I would if the opportunity arose with this.

I tried to get some answers from the company and they did not reply. The warranty is, in theory, very good.

Playing on and off for many years. This is my first electric, after using a Yamaha acoustic. I would get another if it were stolen. I love the overall quality feel to it. The "barrel" string guides, the roller nut and the Wilkinson tremolo all suggest a much higher price. I bought it on recommendation from an outstanding guitarist and I preferred it to the usual Squier/ Aria Pro/ Pacifica options.

You can see most of the features from the reviews below, but I would like to mention a couple of things. It has a roller nut so that the tuning is much more stable with the wammy bar. Also the version that I have has the Fishmann Wilkenson bridge with the piezo pickup which you can blend with the magnetic pickups, or use by itself. Also the pickups are Mightymite which are much better then most generic crap pickups in low end guitars.

It sounds like a strat should, and the Piezo sounds are good enough to not need an acoustic guitar at gigs. There was some noise when I first got it, but since then I have re-wired it using the directions at guitarnuts.com I had to modify the directions for the extra wires that I have but it quieted it right down. Great for blues, and rock. Very full sound, Like a good strat, but I like it better than any strat that I have ever played.

Everything was on par with guitars that cost over a grand. There was only one adjustment that I had to make which was the bridge was not fully radiused with the fretboard. It was only off by a little bit, but I can be verry picky. There was also very little sawdust in the control cavities when I had it taken apart to re-wire it. This is rare for an overseas guitar. The sunburt finish is as good as the one on my DeArmond M-75 which cost more than twice as mutch. Also I do get the clicking sound when bending the D string, but that is just the roller on the nut moving a bit, but you can't hear it through an amp so it is only a minor anoyance, not a major thing at all. Also the satin finish on the neck is a nice tough, it gives it a good feel.

I always bring at least two guitars to a gig, but that is just to get different sounds, but this guitar stays in tune well, and I would trust it as a primary guitar, Also it is light enough to have on for a full gig. But I need the two humbucker sound as well so I bring a guitar with two humbuckers as well. The fact that Cort uses a genuine Wilkinson bridge, and on mine a Fishmann bridge says alot about the quality hardware on this guitar.

I have never delt with them, and I voided my warranty by re-wiring the guitar, but I am not expecting any problems.

I have been playing for about six years, and I have six guitars, including a DeArmond M-75, Washburn WI-64PLAB (With carvin H22 pickups), A Dillion DR-500S (With a duncan 59 in the neck, a PRS Dragon 2 in the bridge), A Garnet SG copy, and a Washburn D2003S acoustic. This guitar is my only one with single coils, and it looks and sounds great. It is was stolen I would track the guy who stole it down, and beat him with my DeArmond (It weighs about as much as a Les Paul Standard) and take it back. Seriously this guitar is a keeper, and I got a great deal on it they had the wrong price on it.

As stated above, Strat style, S/S/H setup, 1 Volume, 1 Tone (with coil tap), 5 way selector, Wilkinson Trem, Mightymite pickups. Mine is in a very nice "Trans Red" colour, and the finish is flawless. And I got a great deal with Gig bag, Tuner, Lead, & Spare strings thrown in! :)

This guitar suits my style of play exactly, nice rich strat sounds, for general stuff and the benefit of the coil tap for when I want to make it scream, In my opinion a great all rounder :)

The action is superb, much better in my opinion than the Squier Strat & Pacifica's i'd looked at previously, I immediately felt "at home" with this guitar. Had some slight crackle on the Volume knob & Pickup selector but that was soon sorted out with a bit of TLC

Only slight problem is the roller nut tends to make a little "click" noise when i'm pushing up the D string low down, I think its the roller just sliding up and making contact with the roller above, no big deal really but still its enough to bug me a bit, so i'm giving it a 9 for that otherwise it would be a 10!

Well finished, well built, feels a very solid piece of kit, for everything I play its more than adequate, cant really say if i'd use it at a gig without a backup, coz I dont intend on playing any gigs! ;) But it is certainly as well built as some guitars that cost twice as much, so if I were gigging then i'd have no probs using it I guess

Like I said above, i'd taken a 5 year break from playing due to injury, but I cant remember every being as happy with a guitar as I am with this little beauty, for the price it beats the pants of anything else in that range, and it also puts some other guitars that are twice the price to shame aswell.... other manufacturers TAKE NOTE!

warranty is two years if i'm not mistaken but i never took a great look at the warranty but that was store and not company which is odd i find. anyways i never had problems i've had it for 6 months never problem except the strap button placement

I switched from an old beat up Yamaha acoustic and never played another electric except this one. But I'm impressed so much I'm sticking with Cort

try it with fender twin reverb and you are ready for blues rock jazz(not for heavy metal) but for hard rock too

action was little too high but that depends on you personal style beautiful color and deatils up to higher level fenders.liitle noisy pickups but what dont buzz a little doesn't sound good

plays great for now no problems at all yes you can depend on this guitar morre than a cheapo U.S fenders but i would never use any guitar without backup .if i had to buy just hardware on this guitar it would have costed me way more (highest quality).bass wood (maybe some will be sceptic about bass wood body but just read van halen reviews of his gear)
notto manypeople know that basswood is going to age better than spruce and mahagony and the sound will get amazing way sooner than with the other woods .

ok i wannted to buy a fender for around 1000$ but this guitar is more than just a entry level fenders(i am talking abou u.s made fenders)
i have been playing blues and hard rock for 10+ years and i've come across so many fender guitars and still own one but this is the ultimate guitar my fender is sitting and resting in case sinca i bought cort g250
