Features : 8
Made in Korea
22 Frets
Volume and Tone with a coil Tap
Pick up arrangement is two single coil and one Humbucker bridge pick up. All pickup are select by EMG (Very quiet and has heaps of tone.)
Passive Pickups with a wilkinson tremolo style bridge.

Sound : 9
Guitar sounds awesome, has really good tone control for the price.
And Has a rich but bright sound to it. This guitar really brings a nice rich deepish sound to any distortion used, whether amp or effects. Man this sounds way out of the price range I got it for. Very versatile in the sound department.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Very Low Action, Nice neck and has some sort of string mechanism to stop sting wear, don't know how it works but it has rollers before it hits the tuners, quite clever I thought.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I gig with this and another cort both excellent and tough to take a few knocks, which means it doesn't look defaced from a small scratch.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them yet, no problems

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for three years and this guitar is great,
I own a Cort CL-200, this guitar (Cort G-255) and an acoustic electric Art & Luthrie Wild Cherry CW.
Firstly this gat is cheap but sounds like some of the way more expensive guitars I've played, I think the pick ups make it worth the money, can't beat this deal EMG designed.
If I had to replace it I'd definitely buy another one.

I live in brazil, in a hopeless fucking hole called Belo Horizonte, where i have access to some good stuff.

When i was researching for a good guitar i went to a lot of stores.
I tested an Epiphone SG Korina, and boy, it sucked. Neck too thick!
I tested the Jackson axis K10, and it sucked ass too.
Then i went to test some Ibanez models, and i didn't like it too. I thought maybe the problem was me.

Then Gustavo at Fox Music, introduced me to Tagima Guitars (Brazillian stuff, with fucking GREAT sound and design), but it was totally overpriced.
He showed me then, the Cort models.
I tested each and everyone on my price range until i came to the G 255 model.

I liked the Coil Tap thing, despite i'm not using single picks at all lately.

the sound is bright and has a lot of midtones, which i enjoy.

the tone selector is really smooth, but the tone controller is a bit like "8 or 80". it goes basically from the brighter tone to the bass one, with no such thing as midtone.

the volume button has the same problem. It's wether full-blow or weak-gain. no middle gain.

but this is not the kind of stuff that would make me give up the idea of buying it. it still sounds really good, wether you play it heavy or clean.

the pickups are EMG designed, and it fucking rules! it's the most silent pickups i've ever seen.

i had some trouble with the Wilkinson bridge, but it's personal. i spent 2 years playing with a Jackson Randy Rhoads with a tune o matic bridge. it feld too different at first, but i'm totally comfortable now :)

and also, i put 3 tensors in the bridge so it doesn't move. this way i can play faith no more in E or System of a Down in drop C

the guitar came with a strap, a cable, all kinds of tools and a tuner that i don't use a lot, because it seems to sense a little higher than it sounds. my zoom 2100's tuner is more accurate. (altough the zoom 2100 is the worst piece of crap i've ever bought)

the body style is a basswood strato, not too heavy, not too light, and it's natural finish. without varnish. it pure, dark and raw wood. it's a totally sober style, and it's FUCKING GORGEOUS!
the control buttons and tuning knobs are die cast metal. no shiny chrome stuff. that's for sissies. die cast rules!

i forgot! it has a rolling stuff mechanism at the end of the neck, which avoids fast degradation of the strings. THAT FUCKING RULES!

i'll give it a 9 in spite of the tone/volume stuff and the kinda glassy tone of the single pickups. that's ok. single pickups are for sissies.

Sound : 8
i play in a band that mixes along Primus with Mr Bungle (on the 1st record) along with some Faith no more's influences (after all, which band hasn't it?)

i've been using the band's studio's amp, it's a brazillian amp called Meteoro. give a really thick sound, yet bright.
and for FX i use the crappy Zoom 2100.

it has a really wide variety of tones, thanks to the coil tap. altough i think that single pickups sound a little glassy. not only in this guitar.
but then again, the only good single pickup is the singles from the Fender Stratocaster. the rest sux.

but the neck pickup gives a darker tone, good for bass-based tunes.

i like the quietness of the pickups. even with distortion pedals like the jackhammer from marshall and danelectro's black coffee it still give a lot less noise than in other axes.

the overall sound is pretty good. i haven't found anything that i would trade my Cort for.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
is really well done, really fucking beautiful, the neck is smooth and the strings are really close to it. it eases the playing, sine the neck is thin and allows good hand sliding.

when i bougt it was missing a strap holding button. but it was in the box, no big deal.

its nice to play and it's beautiful!

Reliability/Durability : 10
i can totally depend on it. the rolling mechanism guarantees the durabilty of any kind of string (specially sucky strings such as D'addario - which i've been using and changing my mind about it)

i use shitty straplocks and the strap releases from a clicky thing that dismisses the need of removing it from the strap button, which ruins the leater strap thing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
had no contact. but sounds good.

Overall Rating : 10
i've been playing for 7 years and only now i can distinguish a good from a bad sound.

this is the best guitar i've ever played and had.

This guitar is korean made, basswood body, maple neck, 22 frets, colour is almost crimson maroon/ with a satin finish. It contains "EMG select" pickups (H/S/S), volume/tone control/coil tap switch, small button tuners, LSR roller nut and a wilkinson trem. Not much else you could ask for except locking tuners.

Sound : 9
This is an incredably diverse axe, it produces a vast array of sounds and tone that cannot be matched for the overall price. I play modern alternative/phsycidellic rock, with a Boss ME 6 and a carvin X 100-B amp, as well as Jazz and Blues with clean tones. The G 255 holds an amazing abillity to adapt to any style and not sound fake. The pickups are freak'ishley silent whitch was an added bonus. I found that overall it had more mid-range than my previous guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The factory set-up was perfect I have not needed to adjust anything. There were also no flaws in it's construction, apart from it's selector knob whitch is slightly loose. The satin finish is very sharp however it is quite soft, and scratches very easily.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Honestly I have not had the guitar long enough to claim that it is a gig-proof tank, but it plays so easily and comfortably, I would be extremely confident to play it on stage for nights on end. Also it's pretty stealth looking, and the girls love it.

I own a cort stature gold as well and untill purchasing this, it was my pride and joy. The G 255 has a rounder tone and looks original. I did'nt even plan on buying it, I saw it and instinctively purchased it because the price seemed too low to pass up. I am very interested in the G 290 now. It's my newest dream axe, thanks to performance of the 255. But for the price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this guitar, it definitely delivers.

I think 2001, made in Korea. 22 medium frets. Basswood body. Maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Wilkinson VS5011 bridge (trem) and roller nut. Select by EMG S-S-H pickups. H pickup has a coil tap via push pull switch on the tone knob. Satin orange/amber finish that is transparent (very sweet looking). Strat style body but more curvy, fits snug against your body. Brushed chrome hardware. Came with whammy bar, allen wrenches, and extra tremolo spring. One strap button on back of cutaway... kind of weird to out a strap on...

Sound : 7
I play in a hardcore/thrash metal/funk band but I practice Spanish classical and blues. This is my second guitar. My first one was an Ibanez GAX70, a very good, well made, nice sounding, cheaply priced guitar (highly recommended). I use 'em through Marshall amps and sometimes I use a Ibanez SM7 Smash Box pedal. When you switch to the middle single coil and the split humbucker (4th position) there is some buzzing... same thing with the humbucker at the 5th position.... aren't humbuckers supposed to NOT buzz? Oh well... there is buzzing when you use the coil tap too. At high volumes it gets a little too noisy... poopy. Otherwise, the guitar is very bright sounding, good overall tone. The guitar is better for overdriven and clean sounds, not full on distortion. Everything is fine except for the buzzing...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Everything was set up fine... i had to tighten the tremolo bar screw a little but everything else was fine... oh, and you have to install the other strap button. I bought it in Taiwan and it survived the bumpy plane ride... The finish is niiiiiiice... there's a little eagle eye thing near the bridge... but hey, it's wood. The buzzing from the pickups sucks ass. The frets were nice and perfect. So pretty...

Reliability/Durability : 8
Since this is a higher end guitar... I usually just use it for practicing. The hardware is nice and tough. I'm pretty sure the guitar will withstand moderate live playing... it's not like it's an Ibanez log that you can smash around (go Ibanez!!). Finish is nice and resists scratches. The strap buttons are pretty solid but I dunno bout the button on the back of the cutaway. Nice guitar, but you have to be gentle with it.

I have been playing for almost 4 years. I also own an Ibanez GAX70 solidbody and a classical acoustic guitar named Monica. I didn't really plan on getting this guitar... my uncle bought it for me. If it were stolen or lost, I'd proly just get another Ibanez or ESP. I love the finish on this axe, and the overall appearance of it... very nice. I compared this guitar to Ibanez RG's, some Fernandes', Ibanez S's, and some off name brands... but i went with this one because I loved the look of it and it sounded fine when i played it... didn't realize there was buzzing. I wish it didn't have buzzing... dammit.
