Mine is from 2006 i assume. I'd like to compare this guitar with the Fender American Strat. 22 Frets. Maple neck and fingerboard. The neckjoint is shaved to make access to high frets easier. (Fender - big bulky neckjoint) Swamp Ash Body. (Fender - Alder body. Swamp Ash is more expensive and exclusive) Two singelcoil and one humbucker (coiltapable) Mighty Mite pickup. I have the natural version with black pickguard. Small strat-clone body. Wilkinson trem and self-locking staggered tuners. (Fender - american trem. The Wilkinson unit is actually sold as an upgrade to that. Staggered tuners but non-locking) Rolling stringposts. Grap Tech nut. (Fender - regular plastic. Again the Graph tech nut is an upgrade.)Fender scale-length and a slightly thinner neck than a regular strat. Came with a gigbag and 6 sets of Dean Markley strings.

Sound : 10
When I got this guitar I compared it to various others. First I started out with the ones in the same price-range (Squier etc) but I had to start putting it side by side with american-made Gibsons and Fender to get an even competition. I'm sorry for the ones who own the versions with duncan design pickups. I tried a Squire with those and they sound dull and undefined compared to the Mighty Mite pickups. The sound of these are loud, varm and clear. They really have the voice of high-quality units (I've had guitars with EMGs and Dimarzios so I should know). I think anyone should upgrade their strat with Mighty Mites. No noise whatsoever. Very even level between different pickupcombinations. I think you can play anything on this guitar. Suits blues, jazz, rock, metal. Anything.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was fine when I got it. I guess the store had set it up. Felt solid and there were no loose parts whatsoever. The trem felt a little too loose for my taste so I installed the third tremspring. This improved tuningstability och sustain as well. The trembar is tightened with a small allenscrew. When I play it works loose. Maybe it's because I don't tighten it that hard? Seems like a better solution than the regular screwin type anyhow. Perfect intonation. The neck feels unfinished (but isn't) and woody. Very bright maple. Perfect frets with soft fretends. Looks and feels handmade (in the good sense). The swamp ash body looks fantastic. One big problem is that the wood i very soft and easy to mark. There is no paint to protect i either. The back of mine looked terrible after just a short period of time (beltbuckle marks). All parts are high quality. They surely didn't spare anything to get this guitar good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Most of my guitars have been neckthrough constructions. The Cort G260 feels more solid and one-piece than any of them. Hardware is top-quality and outdoes many american-made custom guitars. As I have pointed out, the body takes marks way too easily. These won't be the cool kind that you see on a reliced Strat. They will look as if you hurt the guitar. This doesn't affect the sound in any way but will surely make it less attractive as for example a second-hand guitar. I changed the strapbuttons to Shaller-made straplocks but the stock ones seemed just fine. Everything seems so well done and solid about this guitar. Bring a backup in case a string breaks.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea.

Overall Rating : 10
You can get three Cort G260s for the price of one Fender American Strat. In my opinion the Cort is an upgrade compared to the strat. If you get a chance to buy one of these, don't hesitate!
I have had a few shred-guitars. This one feels like one of those. Fast smooth neck. Low action. Solid trem that stays in tune. Easy access to high frets.
Still its looks and sounds will suit any occasion. The fat, yet clear, pickups are useable in any situation. I play both soft pop and metal on this and it handles them both without any problem. Loud and clear when clean and screaming and wild when overdriven.

Mine is the 2001 Korean model.
Solid swamp ash Body, onepiece Maple Neck, rosewood fretboard, Abalone Dots, 22 Frets, 2 Duncan designed hotrails, 5-way switch, coil tapping, Wilkinson VS50II Vibrato, satined silver Platinum Hardware, metal roller nut, Color:red sunburn with woodgrain showing.
Flawless... I have found 0 defects.

Sound : 10
It suits all kinds of music. It sounds absolutely gorgeous in every selection of pickup.
If a Strat can do it, this can, if a humbucker guitar can do it, this can.
It will not get as fat sounding as a Les Paul, but it will twang, scream , growl, or chime with ease.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action fit and finish are perfect. Absolutely flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is solid. I dont abuse my guitars , but I have a few guitars, and this one holds in tune better than my $2000 Godin LGXT.

Cort has a friendly helpful guitar forum. Cort guitars U.S.A. in Google will get you there. Never had to contact them, and I have owned 4 Cort guitars.

Overall Rating : 10
I have played for several years. I have owned mostly intermediate level gear, but have played expensive gear on occasion. I love everything about the guitar, really. I really enjoy this instrument. If I had to only have 1 guitar, this would be it. I'm not sure how the newer ones compare, but if you get a chance at the older G260 models, I would recommend getting it.

Black gloss laminate finished light swamp ash and maple neck set with rosewood on the rear and rosewood fingerboard. And all the features of the other reviews.

The wood in this guitar is excellent quality and the swamp ash provides a thick resonance you can really feel, the neck feels perfect allowing the hand to smoothly swoop the full neck. The distorted strat shape is lovely and the whole guitar feels so right in its weight and balance.

Black mirror pickguard and black mirror chrome hardare including rollnuts looks awesome.

Mine is the 2001 Model, made in Korea. The new models do not have gloss paint, they show black ash grain and black headstock. Mine has maple head.

Sound : 10
This plays everything, the 5-way selector gives you a real variety of sounds, all balanced, well sustained and full. very responsive and and the electronics do just what they should.

seymour duncan designed "hotrails" x3. these babies scream and rock, rock like youve never rocked before. Coil tap lets you go from thumping rock rage humbucking madness to squealy single coil hendrix joy.

perfect action tremolo and this thing needs tuning less often than any other guitar ive seen. i play primarily through a marshall 30dfx with valve emulation on and its awesome. had it on a big 200w marshall system in the store and blew everyones brains out.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Beautiful finish, looks and feels expensive, can not fault the craftsmanship at all.

came set up perfectly, i put on super slinkies for some slip slidey screaming action. everything is aligned exactly, pickups right height, strings right height and easy to adjust.

One inor gripe and probably my only one about this guitar. the selector switch is a little noisy and makes a ffzt sound when switching. Its possible the new models dont have this problem. it doesnt really bother me too much, i would have replaced the switch otherwise which would be easy.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will withstand everything.

Love her, hold her and appreciate her and she will be yours forever.

The black mirror chrome colourises very slightly with age (thats a good thing!) but doesnt pit or corrode. looks better and better with age.

ps about that chrome- its not some weak stuff like on a penknife blade. its properly electrolised on hard shiney morror chrome that wont pit or scratch or flake.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them, i never had a problem.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for about 8 years and this was my first electric ive had after a couple of acoustics. Ive considered an american standard fender strat but now i wouldnt becuse my little black beauty blows it away and sings a sirens melody to keep it and its buddies out of my mind.

i dont need anything else but she speaks soft words sometimes like "buy a big fat valve amp... hook me up... blow brains from heads..."

Black finish, Mirror style pick guard. Awesome look, very open to custom paint work. Black chrome hardware, Wilkinson bridge is better than a floyd rose imho. Locking tuners abalone fret inlays.

Sound : 9
Sounds amazing for a guitar of this price. Picks up every little tone with those MightyMite pickups. Cort make brilliant pickups for their guitars. The mightyMite pickup is a very powerful pickup and does the guitar justice with its powerful sound. Every harmonic is loud and clear.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Setup in a terrible state. 20th fret is totally dead. upon closer inspection, its actually lower than the rest of the frets, just enough to kill every note on the 20th fret. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. Inspected by a "J.S Cha"... dodgy guitar checkers? Also had production dirt on it, eg, sawdust, drill dust etc. Also has a slight bump on the back of the neck. Its only very small but totally ruins the feel on what would be an exellently smooth neck.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Whammy antics put the strings slightly out but not too much. Im guessing after time the strings will stretch out and tuning will stay sweet. Only had it a week but sending it back next week.

Customer Support : 8
Sending the guitar back for a replacement or to get a luthier to fix it within the week, totally covered by distributor.

Overall Rating : 9
Its a brilliant guitar, if it didnt have a pathetic fret. And was CLEANED before i got it. Ive had many guitar pro friends that own rich and fancy guitars and they say the Cort G260 is really darn good. I think i may have even swayed a Fender fan to think a bit deeper about Corts. If i had the extra money, Id go crazy and get the Hiram Bullock Sig. Series for that birdeye maple neck.

Features : 10
Made in Korea. Bought it used. Do not know the year it was made. Has all the features the G 260 comes with. Has Seymour Ducans all around.

Sound : 9
Play blues and rock. Mostly use it with a Tech 21 60 watt combo. The sound of this guitar is just so sweet, way better then most Fenders that I check out. From fat and thick to bright and twang the G 260 will accommodate. Theres lots of varirty here, enought to please the most demanding players.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Since I bought it used the former owner really has this axe set up like a pro. The guitar looks like it was never on the road.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I feel very confident that this guitar will last a life time with the proper maintenance.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Really dont know.

Overall Rating : 9
Been grinding the axe for over 20 years now and I'm so impressed with the quality of this Cort guitar. Fender better watch there ass for I believe the Cort is a much better product. I plan to buy another in the future.

I play rock/metal music and this guitar does everything I ask. I was going to change the pickups as soon as i got it,being duncan designed you would've thought they were not that good but I like them how they are. I run this guitar into a Marshall AVT series witha BOSS GT8 and it screams! I can get screaming humbucker tones one minute and get a nice jangly strat sound the next. The coiltap gives you a greater variety of tones but to be honest I don't use it much in the music I play.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up nicely by Regent guitars petter allen, he did a great job in making this guitar play like it was worth twice price.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Everything works fine but I would never risk gigging without a backup.

Customer Support : 6
I havn't dealt with the company but the shop i go it from was Regents Guitars in the U.K, their premier service is great but the owner seemed very hot headed when I phoned to check where my guitar was. I got the guitar in 3 weeks and it was well worth the wait but i would only buy from them because of the setup since they seem rude and are hard to get a straight answer out of.

Overall Rating : 9
Great guitar for the money, they've changed the guitar to a h/s/s now which is a shame because I liked the s/s/s. If it were broke or stolen I would buy another but probably look into some other guitars first.

Features : 10
This is a late 2005 G260B with a flawless black finish, mirror scratchplate, three Duncan Designed Hotrails and coil-tap, 5 way blade selector, Wilkinson VS50-II vibrato with push in arm, what seems to be an LSR type roller nut, roller string trees and unbranded locking tuners. 22 large frets and rosewood board with lightly laquered maple neck. Also came with a mirror pickguard and all the metal parts are a very classy smoked chrome finish. This beast looks awesome on stage, and the feature list is amazing considering I only payed #199 for it. Absolute steal.

Sound : 8
The Duncan Design Hotrails are excellent, and with the coil-tap extremely versatile. Untapped they give a very fat, but well defined sound which loves a decent bit of gain, though they seem to be more suited to hard/alternative rock styles than full out thrash.

Tapped, the sound is much cleaner and wirier, and will give an excellent blues or funk sound. These settings sound much better for clean tones, but there is unfortunately a very noticeable drop in volume, and the pickups lose their humbucking properties. The best possible upgrade here would be to fit a set of the full Seymore Duncan Hotrails! But for now I'm more than happy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Out of the box this guitar was unfortunately poorly set up, as is common in many Cort guitars I have tried in the past. Half an hour with a set of allen keys and some .10s sorted this.

It should be noted that only one strap button was fitted on this guitar, although the other was included in the box(?).

Reliability/Durability : 7
I've beasted this. It refuses to die.

Just remember your straplocks.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing about 6 years, and am a fairly dedicated Fender man. But this is THE stage guitar for me. It has all the features I could need, and it takes a fair bit of abuse. Not too shabby in the studio either. Buy one.

G260HB made in 2003/4 in Korea. Spec as in other reviews.
Nice finish - a nice chunk of wood!
No accessories came with it.

Sound : 8
I am mainly self-taught on acoustic/spanish guitar but recently decided to take up electric again. This Cort has a lovely clean 'acoustic' sound even when played unplugged! Neck Humbucker gives a lovely mellow sound. pull out the volume control for the normal single-coil pickup and wang on the distortion for a hot sound. As I am not that experienced in 'dirty' playing I can't really comment on this end of things. Personally, I like the clean sound and often end up bypassing the effects pedal.
I don't think the sustain is that good on this guitar (but it certainly isn't bad).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is fair. There is not bags of sustain but it is OK. Quality of everything is v. good - can't really pick holes in anything.
The neck was adjusted OK and I didn't have to tweak the tension bar.
Intonation needed a bit of twiddling. For some reason, the bottom E string needed to be set to maximum length (in fact it could have done with a bit more) and about 5mm longer than any of the other strings, but this could have been due to the strings that came with it being slightly un-uniform.
No hum at all when humbucker used, and hardly any when in single coil mode. Guitar itself is quite heavy and might be a bit too heavy on gigs for some people.
Frets seem smooth and fairly low. A few of them are slightly sharp on the ends but not really enough to warrant filing the corners off.
All hardware seems excellent quality, nice solid feel to tuners, etc.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It all seems very solid and durable. Had it about 2 months now and no problems. I don't gig so I can't comment on this.
The strings stay in tune well, even when using the whammy bar. I like the neck which is broader than the Squier Bullet I have (the Bullet seems to have a less wide nut than most guitars?).

Customer Support : No Opinion
I got mine on ebay from Cranes of Cardiff (good shop!). No need for support as yet. Web site seems OK but not brilliant. 12 mnth warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I have a Squier Bullet also. Value for money wise the Squier was the best in the shop at about #100 (even better than some guitars costing twice as much), but this new Cort is definitely much better still. I have played acoustic for a long time but just chord strumming and finger picking really. Started playing electric for last 6 months or so. I have a Marshall 15FDX amp and a RP80 effects pedal.
I love the tone of this guitar and the neck is very playable. It is also easier to play than my steel string acoustic so I even practise on it unplugged rather than pick up an acoustic guitar.
If I lost it I would probably try to find different guitar just to try to find something even better (grass is always greener and all that), but I would definitely recommend it to anyone and may well end up deciding that there is no better guitar for the money.
Overall, if you can get this guitar for #200-ish then I think you have a bargain and a really good guitar too!

well i have no clue what year my guitar was made in, but it was made in Korea. 1 volume 1 tone knob. 5 way pick up selector, coil tapping. 3 duncan designed hotrails...mini humbuckers. light swamp ash body. sorta like a strat but a lil more sleek looking in my opinion. beautiful honeyburst finish. wilkinson trem and locking tuners.

quite a lot of features if u ask me.

Sound : 8
well i try to play everything i can lay my hands on. from blues to metal and stuff. i use a small marshall MG15CDR at home to practice and mainly a marshall JH-1.
i love this guitar for stuff along the lines of blues, jazz and alternative rock. it's pretty flexible actually. but i think it fits less agressive music really well. i like the really really warm tone it gives. i use .012 string guage with it cause i found that with a lower string guage it really doesn't bring the guitar to it's full potential at all.

on the down side, i really don't like this axe for stuff like metal and just the heavier music. it doesn't sound good palm muted.

also, i have no idea why, but the high e string on my guitar seems to go just a little soft volume wise. i have no idea why that is. but i think it may just be my guitar. also, the coil tapping system is great, but i don't really like the fact that when you switch from humbuckers to single coil, the volume drops a good bit. being the lazy bastard that i am, i really don't like adjusting switches and knobs too much.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
i have no complaints about fit and finish. the honeyburst finish is just beautiful. the shape of the guitar is almost a strat shape so it's really comfotable for me. but the action of the guitar is the whole reason i give it an 8 instead of soemthing higher. it's a little bit too high for my liking.

Reliability/Durability : 9
i've owned this guitar for about 2 and a half years now and it's been nothing short of faithful. i dropped it off 2 steps and it landed right on the strap button once. there was some damage done, like the strap button went a little sunk in, but it's still sturdy as hell.

Customer Support : 9
i was a little irritated that the cort website does not show the specs of this guitar, but when i emailed them they sent me all the specs of it down to how the whole thing is wired.

Overall Rating : 9
really solid peice of equipment here. if you're into music of the non-agressive sort, i'd say this is the perfect guitar for you. if it were stolen, i'd hunt down the guy who stole it and put him through a series of cruel and unusual punishments and torture methods. then i'd get it back.

Great Sounds over a Mesa/Boogie .50 Caliber + Combo-Amp.
i prefer the humbucker pu-position for a full, warm and clean blues sound (no hum at all near a computer monitor). in the single coil position the sounds are very bright (near a computer monitor they produce quite a lot of noise). actually i like the the sound of the first and the middle pickup together in the single coil position, you get a very crispy, typically stratocaster tone with this setup.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
with a 010-046 set of strings now it's perfect. (009-042 do not match well with the neck; not enough tension). the finish is perfect!
