Chinese SG Copy - Mahagony body and set neck. Same features like the expensive brother. I purchased it directly at the Frankfurt Musik Messe 2 years ago. Because I??m lefthanded it is a lefthand of course.

Sound : 9
This axe is the best copy I??ve ever tried. I have played the epiphone SG which is a lot crapier than this one. I own a original SG and this one is the perfect backup ! I??m playing a lot of styles - mostly blues, blues-rock, ac-dc, zz top and older top 40 stuff. For some styles this is axe is perfect. I??m playing mostly over a POD XT or live with a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Bedrock 50 watts combo.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar wasn??t setup perfectly from the factory. But after 35 years of playing - you should know how to setup a guitar. First thing I took the strings off, leveled and polished the frets. New strings - that??s it ! I changed the pickups to seymour duncans SH1 - but what a surpise - the orginal pickups sounds much better. So I put the originals back in and sold the duncans on ebay !!! The machine heads are not the best - but what you get for this money - damn !

Reliability/Durability : 8
Mostly I play this one and not the orginal SG, because I??m much more happy with it (because of the good deal). I would rather sell the SG than this one !

22 frets. Its got 2 humbuckers, which admittedly arnt the best quality. The neck and body is one unit. Glossy finish on what is actually a great looking SG. It's got two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three way selector. Its got a standard bridge.

Sound : 7
Id say this guitar best suits hard rock and blues, but on the treble humbucker you can whack out some metal. The neck isnt very fast though and Id definately say its more of a rhythm guitar. The electronics make way for an awesome variety of soft to heavy sounds, although admittedly I did just whack everything up to the top and rock out on it. I was surprised with the quality of sound for this cheap guitar.

The guiatr was totally solid when I bought it. There were no imperfections straight out of the factory. The pickups were set lower down than on the usual SG, but it worked and although at first sight I assumed it could be a problem, I was surprised to hear clarity even at high volumes, It makes way to really smash into the guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 6
The guitar always went out of tune on the G string. Its an odd thing, but it happened. However, other than this the guitar was splendid and solid. The Pickups showed no sign of deterioration. Once or twice it needed re-soldering on the input and I wouldnt gig with it with out a back up guitar at my side.

I moved on quickly and I bought it a long time ago. It was great at the time. It stands up well against the real deal SG's in my opinion and although it fedback at loud volumes it was great for playing in bands.

Nothing special Made in china, an exact copy of an SG, with a volume and tone cotrol for each mic so ity's allright but i'll tell you ore in the reliability section. I don't give it a rating because it's a copy so...

Sound : 7
Well i've played punk roc, rock AC/DC like and weell blues and nearly everything and it proved to be very plyvalent. I actually didn't expect such a result for such a low price. A good choice if you don't have a lot to spend.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
So here no flaws, everything was ok when i bought it, i even had more problems with my ESP but the controls got loose quickly. So i had to open it and fix it and i still have to repeat the operation quite often. The main problem comes from the tuning pegs they are too loose and it really get tuned down easily, and it''s difficult to adjust.
Except that everything is good, well screwed, i never lose it when playing ( it's the only guitar i have wich never fell down because of the screw ). The wood is quite good the polish and stuff seems to last without any problems.
The frets over N12 do not sound so well so you'll have to be careful when you play especialy hammer ons and pull offs. Anyway you'll never find a cheap guitar that allows you so play solos like slash ( i say that because its hard to play sweet child and get some real SOUND )
Still good for the price, it requires some changes but nothing bad.

Reliability/Durability : 7
So yeah hat's sure not the kind of guitar you'll keep for yars playing it averyday and all but i bought it nearly two years ago and i still use it sometimes. I even used it to grab my first studio song and it proved to work well. However i have to tune it up every 20 minutes which IS a problem.
The metal got rusty and as i said the controls are too loose ( i actually foud myself with a control in my hand during a gig i had to glue it again )
I still use it to play live but just on one or two songs, the time to have my esp Back and tuned up ( or down depends on the song ! )
The pickups are not so bad i didn't change it because new pickups would be more expensive that the guitar itself.
But for 170euros its really enough.

This guitar is made beautifully by a company underated. They have made this guitar to perfection. i have tried a real Gibson SG at 8 times its price and seeing not much of a difference in the volume and tone controls and the pick-ups are at very high quality. The grover machine heads make it all that easier to tune up.

Sound : 10
It has a very raw raunchy sound that suits both rhythm and sharp lead guitar. I use a very simple small amp but the guitar doesnt need much accompanymant when playing. This would suit a led Zeppelin lover or any other raunchy guitar players. It has a wide variaty of sound from soft accousic to sharp poignent and raunchy sound. I love the way that you dont have to add much affects to it. I have two Coxx guitars and this is better for sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action is absolutely brilliant and gives the guitar credit. The bridge and the bookmatched top are virtually identical to the real Gibson SG's. There were no problems with the guitar and everything was done to perfection, the only probelm is the guitarist playing it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar is made very well and would easily withstand live performances, and the rose wood body is made very hardwaring. The finish is very well done and durable. Even using a poor strap i have still been able to easily play it without dropping the guitar. Its very dependable and safe. Its fair to say its good enough without having to have a backup but i would probably have my Lets Roll coxx on standby.

I have been playing for a few months and already have a 'let's roll' Coxx, but have a small Drive amp, but sneak off with my dads marshall sometimes. I chose this guitar because of how amazing it looked and realised it sounded better than it looked. My favourite feature is the sound it makes when you put the gain up a little.

SG 61 reissue-copy, made in China. All the usual SG features - all mahogany, neck-thru body, stop bar tailpiece, 2 humbuckers, 2 tone, 2 volume and a 3-way selector switch. Color is cherry.

Sound : 9
Here comes the fun part. I have NEVER heard that much sustain in a Gibson copy! It even compares very well to my real Gibsons, and way better than the Epiphones I've tried. You can actually feel the chords vibrating in the neck and body. Played as acoustic, it deserves 10 points.

The pickups aren't great, but usable. You can get pretty decent tones out of it - but not a 10 point score. They'll soon be replaced with Seymour Duncans, even considering the fact that new pickups are more expensive than the guitar itself - then it will be a great axe! I'm using it with a Marshall JCM900 or a Marshall JMP.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action was pretty amazing right out of the box (actually, the playability is absolutely great), pickups well adjusted, nice wood, good fretwork, but......... the pickguard and the plastic covers on the back seems to be assembled by a trained panda bear - the only chinese animal strong enough to try to drive the screws into the middle of the body. The pickup selector switch was 30 degrees misaligned.

Pretty much space for improvement here, even taking the price into consideration.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Actually, it DOES withstand live playing - at least it has a dozen times, and probably will do so for a long time. But it's not used all the time on stage, it's only used for some AC/DC cover. The only modification so far are changing the strap buttons to Schaller Strap Locks - i'll NEVER use a guitar without strap locks on stage.

I wouldn't use it on a gig without a backup - i'll never do a job without a backup, not even using my Gibsons.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, and probably won't (I do not speak Chinese anyway). For the price paid for it, I wouldn't care.

Overall Rating : 8
Been playing for almost 30 years. I'm mainly playing on Gibson Les Paul's, and have a quite a lot of other guitars (Gibson, Fender, DeArmond, Kramer, Washburn.......). Just bought this for doing some AC/DC stuff on stage.

If it were stolen...... first I would wonder why they didn't steal the Gibsons, second i would be sad and try to get another one - if I could find another one with such a fantastic acoustic sound.
