It's maybe 20 years old, and has a glossy baby blue finish (way cool, actually!).
Strat style, with a steel bolt on bridge that you put the strings through the front of (no idea what that's called, but sort of like putting ball-end nylon strings on a classical guitar).
Tuners are it's main weakness - does not stay in tune well.
Bolt on neck, don't know what it's made of, but I like it (maple?).
No accessories included, and I cannot find ANY info on who made it, and when it where it was made - but it's entry level for sure.
22 frets, masonite body, no-name single HB pickup with single tone and single volume ... that's it. No whammy bar, or anything else.
VERY basic guitar ... although bought at a very basic price.

Well, this is my first electric guitar, so I am hardly qualified to make a lot of comparison to other guitars, BUT ... this does not sound as bad as, well, pretty much everyone but me, says it does.
I play clean stuff, country, classic rock ... whatever. No death stuff, not even near death stuff or even under the weather stuff. Only clean, feel-good stuff.
It has a good punch clean, and despite having only one humbucking pickup and one tone control, it's not that bad. Obviously, the range of sounds available is limited, and I don't bother with effects.
I am currently borrowing a 1960's Gibson ES-175D and I am NOT about to equate the two or anything, but it's a solid 6, especially if you factor in that it has one pickup.
It's not bad - and it's little, and cute, and light ... so my child loves it.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Action - I like it a lot. The neck is smooth, the frets are smooth at the edges (unlike other entry level guitars that sometimes have what seem like razor blades at the unfinished ends of each fret wire).
Fit is not bad either, and the baby blue finish is cute. There is nor rust. It has a bolt on neck.
The masonite body creates a bit of a problem in that the screw holes get bored out / stripped a little each time you turn a screw (such as I have done when I shielded and grounded the guitar).
But hey, this is not so bad - I've seen a lot worse ...
... I've seen a lot better, but I paid $80 Cdn. for it and I think it was probably worth it.
Reliability/Durability

The neck is not a concern - it seems pretty solid to me.
The hardware ... the tuners are really bad, the bridge is good, the pickup seems okay.
The body is SOLID! Unfortunately, it's solid MASONITE! But it's got a heavy finish over it, and the guitar is light, so I don't see why it won't last for some time to come.
Would I gig it? ... in light of the masonite, I suppose it depends on whether it's raining or not. Kidding.
No, it's good, but not THAT good. A practice guitar only.

I have attempted to find info on this guitar, and despite the fact that it says "Created for VAI" or something on it, I think it was "Created for Michael Knight" (... a man who does not exist, kids) by "Cruise" (... a company that doesn't exist).
I am beginning to think the guitar may actually be a fig-newton of my imagination ...
Hey, why can't I go below a score of 1 here?

I have resurrected an old hobby after twenty years, and have been playing again for one year, and I mostly play acoustic (primarily finger picking on a steel string, but a little of the same on a classical as well).
I bought this on a whim, after a real guitarist demonstrated it for me. If it were lost or stolen, I would miss the cute little baby blue guitar - more as a loss for my child - but I would not weep, and would simply forget I owned it and go buy a basic Yamaha electric like I should have in the first place.
If you buy this guitar, just realize what it is. A practice guitar for a beginner like me or your young kids. If you want a real guitar that sounds good and that you can show off and gig, don't buy this.
If you do buy this, make sure you buy one that has a cool retro color like the baby blue one ... because that may be the best thing about it.

I got this guitar in 1988 as a christmas gift. My parents let me pick the guitar I wanted. Since I knew nothing, I passed up a nice BC Rich Warlock simply because I did not like the color and I ended up with this instead. <smacks forehead>.
It has 22 frets. Made in Korea. Says "Created for VAI" on the headstock. The action is horrible. As you play, the screws on the bridge loosen from vibration and it goes out of tune . On the high end the strings are like a 1/4" off the fretboard but on the low end the strings touch the frets which causes really bad vibrations.

I play mostly thrash metal. It was very hard to play any fast music (or anything) on this guitar. The fact that it was all I had for two years and all I knew, I just always thought I sucked. But people said I sounded pretty good on it. After saving up $1500 and getting a Jackson Randy Rhoads made for me, it was amazing to me that I ever was able to play this thing at all.

This thing seems like it was built in a sweatshop. The action sucks. The controls suck. Nothing fits together right. The tuners are very sloppy and cheap.

I always take care of my things, and this guitar is in the exact condition it was in when I got it. It is not a dependable guitar in my opinion though. As I mentioned, the bridge screws loosen as you play which throws it out of tune very quickly.

I've been playing since the day I got this guitar which was christmas of 1988. Started out with this guitar and a small Dean Markley practice amp. I got a DOD overdrive pedal and discovered distortion about a year later. Around 1990 or 91 I saved up and had a Jackson Randy Rhoads custom made and also picked up a Digitech RP1 effects pedal, a DOD Chorus, Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal, and DOD Death Metal pedal. Since the RR is a little difficult to sit and play I bought myself a Jackson DR3 which is strat shaped. I love Jackson guitars. They are well made, light, and have great action. I am using a Crate stack with Crate head. I also own an old BC Rich Warlock NJ which sounds pretty good but is heavy as hell. I just picked up a BC Rich Virgo. I'm planning on getting a 7 string soon as well.
Anyway, I mainly keep the cruise around for the sentimental value. I like to pick it up and remember how hard it was to play. I might make my son learn on it. I figure since it is so hard to play on it it might actually force you to work harder and become a better player. Then when you play on a quality instrument like a Jackson or a BC Rich you'll feel really good about yourself.

This guitar was made in Korea. The body is shaped similar to a Strat. It has three single coil pickups, what appears to be a maple neck and fretboard. I don't know what the body is made of, but it wouldn't suprise me if it was particle board. It also has one volume and two tone knobs. it has a tremlo (a cheap fender copy). It also has a five way selector switch.
Sound

I play heavy metal (Metallica, Pantera, and various others). I haven't played it in years, but first I used a Dean Markley amp with a six inch speaker, then a Fender Champion 110. It sounded horrible through both.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

I'd say the action was crappy because it was high, but how can I rate somthing that is your responsibility to get set up. The paint looked fine other then that it was junk. The volume knob fell apart and the pot broke, and I'm pretty sure the selctor switch dosen't work anymore.

I've been playing for 10 years. In the last few years mostly just messing around. This was my first electric. It was a christmas gift. I guess it did its job to get me started on the electric guitar. Even if was "playable" now I don't think I could even play it. I have a Gibson Gothic Explorer with EMG's and once you play such great quality you can't go back to junk

Well its more of Charvel Jackson style strat from the 80's then a fender strat. It has the Jackson style head.I got it at a pawnshop. I like it.It has 22 frets. One humbucker, which Im gonna replace it with a humbucker from a Charvel Jackson model 5 guitar.
2 knobs, which one is missing, though it still works. Just the plastic part. The neck isnt bad, there isnt hardly any scratches on the guitar.Light.
Sound

The sound has a good dingy dirty rock sound too it. I like van halen/ac dc shit. Along with hendrix, classic rock, country. ive got a les paul for alot of that shit. But its not bad sound
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action on it isnt bad. Has a very slight bow, but alot of older guitars get that way from leanin on to the wall on the neck.Im going to mess with the truss bar on it.
It has buttery action though.Very smooth.

I wouldnt trust it at a gig. This is something I would use to record music with. I would have to do some electronic work on it to use it at a gig. I would carry along with me though. I would bring at least 3 guitars to a gig.Acoustic and 2 electrics.

Ive got a model 5 charvel jackson but its on the fritz right now. Ive also got a Epiphone Hummingbird, which isnt bad. I like my Epiphone AJ 12 better.

It this guitar is atleast 15 years old.
made in korea 22 frets It is a really small guiter.
one volume and one tone
One Humbucker at the bridge
strat body style.

I play alternative rock, and this guiter sounds good with it, but thats about all it sounds good with. the sound is too muddy to play clean stuff.
Its got a full sound with alot of distortion.

The finish is holdiong up well, for being throught alot of abuse. I got it used when i was about 8 and it got beat off stuff alot.
the action is really low for a cheap guiter.

I wouldn\ be kinda scared to play this guiter live. It is just too beat up, ya never know when it'll give out.
It is good for just playing around though.
It would be my backup at my gig. I would never use it as my main guiter. it isn't that good
I had to saughter one of the wires to the output jack but now it is fine

Bought this POS in 1995 to replace my 1st guitar, which was a Sears guitar. I was only 15 so hell if I knew this guitar sucked; it was a dream compared to my Sears guitar, I can say that much...
Guitar is made out of particle board (I will elaborate on how I found this out later), has strat-style hardware but NOWHERE NEAR as good as even a bottom line strat. I bought this from a mom and pop music store in a white ghetto town and thought it was gold but damn was I wrong as time progressed. It wasn't long before I bought a real strat.
Sound
:
2
Sounded like poop, if poop even sounds like anything. At the time the guitar/amp combination sucked anyway so I can't really compare its sound to what it might have sounded like through a halfway decent amp, but I was plugged into a small Peavy Rage with no reverb and the tone shaping was complete junk. I used this guitar with DOD and some BOSS pedals and it wasn't terrible for the kind of music I was playing at the time, but when my style changed, the guitar had to as well.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
2
Action was ok at first, took about 2 months before the neck was bowed. Pickups were factory adjusted, I never did any adjustments on this guitar. Flaws? Hmmm...couldn't keep it in tune- the trem bar more than mocked that, choppy frets, bad tuners.
Reliability/Durability
:
2
This guitar is reliable, it's not like it's going to snap apart in your hands, but the strap buttons do tend to strip out (hey, it is particleboard). If it were my only guitar at the time and I had a gig, you think I would cancel because my guitar wasn't top notch??

I finally got sick of this pos and bought a real strat. I should also mention that I'm left handed and so the Cruise was the only left handed guitar I could find. I'm not sure if they were all lefty models because no one ever specifies that in their reviews. Either way, I bouht my new strat, it was solid and beautiful, and so we all went out back and smashed the guitar. That's how I found out it was sawdust on the inside. We set it on fire but it didn't burn. Oh well, we tried. I guess the thing is fire retardant, so that's a plus if you were ever to be playing in a bonfire... for that I give this category a 2.

Not sure what year it was made. Made in Korea. It has 22 frets. Has 1 vol. and 1 tone nob. It has 1 bridge humbucker and thats it. Neck is ok, not much fret buzzing but the finish on the neck is wearing a bit. It has a nice creamy pearl/white finish on it with black neck. Strat style body. Tuners are crap, they give very easily.

Sounds great. I only have a small 30 watt amp but it sounds great on it. I plug it into my metal distortion pedal and it sounds great still, good for heavy stuff.

I would use this guitar if I had no other choice. I think it could withstand live playing because it is very durable and has taking a great beating over the years and still sounds great. Strap buttons are just fine. It is very dependable but if you have they money get somehting better. It would be smart to have a back up with this at a gig.

Took it to a guitar shop and they guy put in another spring in the inside of the guitar becasue the strings would bust if tuned too high. "It needs new tuners too, and that will run you about 35 bucks, not sure if this guitar is worth that much though." Skipped getting the tuners and it sounds great now, now acts as my backup.

I have been playing for 2 years, and played on this for bout 1 and 1/2 years then I bought a new Johnson 3 single coil. The johnson is more reliable but I still like the Cruise grungy sound. If it were stolen I would get a better more reliable backup guitar.

I Have absolutely no idea when it 'twas made. it has 22 frets, 1 vol, 2 tone. it has 3 single coils like most strats. Its a very good copy of a strat most people think it is a fender when they see it.i think the bidy is ash with a maple fret board. The finish is blackish blue with tiny blue-green lightning bolts (kinda gives it an ac/dc feel). It has a Whammy . The tuners dont lock but they feel like it though:)
It cames with 2 cables and a hardshell case.

I also own an Epiphone eb-0 bass, a crappy Hagstrom II bass(doesn't work), a Peavy Rage amp, A big marshall Speaker, a trainer bass amp(for the marshall),a Heath Kit Amp, 2 pioneer speakers, 2 soundsourse speakers, a Standell guitar amp, couple of mixers, a little harmony acoustic, couple of empty guitar cases, 2 stage works mics, and tons of guitar picks.I also have a Groove Percussion Drumset.lol.
If My guitar was stolen i would put up a police search (or a temper tamtram). I Did compare it to a 1966 fender strat, the fender was thicker and it had better tuners(not saying mine are bad).
