Now, I have owned close to 30 guitars in my lifetime (I am 31 years old) - I have been playing and studying Jazz for about 11 years.
This guitar is EVERYTHING I was looking for and HAS everything I was looking for, BUT may be missing certain items for others (such as a floating Bridge pickup, etc)
I will knock off 1 point for that. For me it's perfect.

Sound : 10
I play primarily Jazz. LET ME START BY SAYING I have owned the following for Jazz:
Ibanez Pat Metheny PM100
Ibanez George Benson GB-10
Epiphone JOE PASS model

This D'Angelico is the most recent AND THE ONLY guitar I currently own. As for the sound, acoustically it BLOWS THE EPIPHONE AWAY! - The quality of the wood, build, binding, craft, etc. just shines over the epiphone JOE PASS by a mile (and the pass is a nice guitar!!!)
Plugged in, it sounds just as incredible, with the small issue of feedback.

I loved my two Ibanez models, and even though this guitar physically is more along the lines of the GB-10, It's natural acoustic tone is SO MUCH like the PM100, it's shocking!

The PM100 is one of the best guitars I have EVER heard acoustically, as is this D'angelico EXS-1

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Wow, D'angelico blew my mind. They took an extra day to set this baby up, and when it arrived, it was perfect.

There were certain high chords I would avoid on my Epiphone Joe Pass, as I got used to the fact that they wouldn't come through in tune (intonation issues I guess)

Nothing like that on the EXS-1. I am amazed.
I am also blown away at what I can get for $895.00 brand new.

The ebony finderboard is like glass, mirror-like - so pretty. The binding is finished off with a beautiful, black pinstripe running down the sides of the fretboard. I love the wood tone of the headstock, and the tuners feel WAY more solid than they look in the pictures!

I hate to score 10, I look like a biased idiot, but I really have nothing short of breathtaking feeling for this guitar, so I am not going to sit here and try to find something wrong, just to look diverse in my scoring!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Without a doubt, every bit as solid as Archtops I have payed 3 times the amount for - build is up there, and seems every bit the same, if not better quality.

Customer Support : 10
Mark was incredibly kind and helpful. He went out of his way to get my instrument to me in a fast manner. He was very friendly and humble. You wouldn't think that this is a guy working for one of the greatest guitar makers in history, He won't talk down to you in any way. A true gentleman. PERFECTION!

I will be posting my Jazz music in the future and posting photos of this guitar to look at. For more info go to www.myspace.com/thebusylights

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing my whole life and playing jazz for half that.
I was worried about ordering this guitar without finding photos on the web anywhere. Don't be afraid, this guitar is amazing, and it SHOULD cost about 5 times what it does. I am not sure why they are selling something of such high quality at such a cheap price. I am grateful I got one before they realize what they are doing!!!
