The guitar has an archtop sealed solid chambered mahogany body with a spruce top. It has an ebony bridge and tailpiece. The finish appears to be high quality lacquer. It's shape is similar to a les paul. It is 24 3'4 scale with gotoh tuners. These are hand made in Japan, and are as well made as anything in the US. It came with a high quality Iwamoto hard shell case. It has a set mahogany neck with a 22 fret ebony fingerboard. It came with a single humbucking pickup and a volume and tone control.

Sound : 8
This guitar came with the worst sounding pickup I have ever heard. To make things worse it had a linear tone control pot. I can't believe that an instrument of this quality was so poorly equipped. A korean epiphone sounds better and costs about 1/4 what this does. I don't know how anyone could sell this the way it came. I own 4 D'Aquisto guitars and bought this on line. I replaced the tone control with an audio taper, and replaced the pickup with a Vintage Vibe PAF. I tried the Benedetto B-6, but I like the PAF a lot better. The guitar sounds great now. I love the light weight, and the feel and playability of the neck.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action fit and finish on this guitar are superb. This is a high quality instrument all the way(except for the electronics). There were no flaws or problems of any kind. I have to say that the guitar is a work of art, like all D'Aquisto guitars.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is extremely well made. I can see no reason that it wouldn't be dependable in any reasonable situation. It is certainly more durable than any solid top acoustic guitar. I certainly wouldn't be afraid to play it without a backup.

Customer Support : 2
D'Aquisto has NO US support of any kind. If you buy one of these guitars you are on your own. They don't even come with any paperwork. The only help you may possibly get would be through the dealer you buy it from. However almost nothing is likely to go wrong with an instrument of this caliber. In 50 years of playing I've never had a problem with a guitar I couldn't fix myself.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 50 years. I bought this because I have 3 other D'Aquisto guitars, and am very impressed with all of them. This guitar is a little different than anything else on the market. I love the light weight, and the cosmetics. This is a truly stunning instrument. I like the instrument, but I'm not sure I would replace it if it were lost or stolen. I have quite a number of guitars and replacing it would be more a question of availability and price.
