Dreadnought. Spruce top, maple neck, fretboard, back and sides. Not sure whether it's all solid. Probably made around 1980 in Japan. No electronics. Good tuners. Thin Neck, small nut: 4,2 cm (like an electric)

Very bright sound (I guess because of the maple). A lot of high, less bass than my Martin HD28. Good for fingerpicking. I sometimes use a pickup with my BOSS ce5 chorus-pedal on it which makes it sound like Richard Thompson or Luka Bloom.

Great setup, not sure if it came this way out of the factory (I got it second hand). Low action, no buzzes. Nice bookmatched top and even the sides are bookmatched. Intonation is very good for what is probably a factory guitar.

It has been used live and has less problems with different temperatures than my Takamine AN10 and my Martin HD28 (which I rarely use live), which means less annoying tuning all the time. The guitar is about 25 years old and it looks like it will last for many years to come.

Out off bussiness! Used to be the Yamaki company!

I've been playing for 20 years now. I played in several bands and do solo gigs mostly now. I own among others a Gibson Les Paul, a Fender telecaster, a Yamaki YW-40 12string (you see one, buy it!), A Takamine AN10, a'76 Martin D28 and a new Martin HD28. I like the Daion for being very dependable and it's clear sound. It's very good for fast acoustic solo-ing. I bought it because I liked my Yamaki 12-string very much and wanted a Yamaki 6-string. I'm still looking for an YW-40 6-string though. I'm probably never satisfied. I now I'm spoiled but they're all special to me!
