I bought my performer brand new in Australia after some drongo stole my 70, strat. I found it in a music shop on the Gold Coast in 1980 and haven't stopped playing it to this day. Great paint-cream- now yellowing with age but then, so am I. It cost me Aus$350 which was a lot of cash then but it was better built than strats at that time. My opinion.Still looka and feels great.

Sound : No Opinion
This old thing sounds more like a strat than a strat. At the moment I am playing it through a Peavey classic 30.Fantastic for j.j.cale stuff but very versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Absolutely perfect for me from the start although the trem wasn't great. For years i had a washburn wonderbar on but it now has a fender trem. I'm retired now and only play at jams but it still causes interest and I have never seen another on in the U.K.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
in twenty seven years it has never let me down and only had one refret. During the 80,s in Oz I was playing five hours a night. It has been on the crapest airlines in the universe but is still in one piece.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never needed to.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Thinline tele, epiphone d.c. Guyatone lapsteel, Ibanez c.j. using as lap steel, C.L. nylon strung electric. Italian rubbish but I only use it for a couple of Willie Nelson tunes. If I lost it I would be desolate as it has seen me through 27 years.

Left Handed Red 80's JACKSON/CHARVEL copy Daion Performer Strat.

80's shredder guitar style body, 'Bendmaster' style single locking tremolo system, pull down only. Good no-name tuners that do the job.

The neck is amazing, its thin flat and fast. 22 Frets great Rosewood fretboard. I purchased it on its own. I have no clue of what year it was made but I know it was made in either Korea or Japan, I think Korea. I love the Jackson headstock.

The body wood I have no clue but it feels and sounds nice. The colour is the most amazing shade of red I have ever seen, so deep but yet so bright...it truly is great.

Pickup config is the standard superstrat H-S-S.

Sound : 7
I play 80's Hard Rock/Melodic/Metal with blues thrown in as well. This guitars stock bridge pickup is not the best but the NECK sounds AWESOME and I wonder how it has such a great neck pickup but yet the rest isnt fantastic, it's stock thats for sure though. When I got it the usual second hand deal, scratchy as pots but it's fine now.

The guitar is capable of mainly rock to metal tones. I wouldn't recommend it for much else. Suits me though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
When I got the guitar (through e-Bay) it's action was SHOCKING and I don't think thats how it was from the factory, evidently it had changed in shipping and it was mis-used by the owner...no dings though!

The middle locking nut eventually became crossthreaded (already was weak) so I'm marking it down on that, it is actually behind the real nut, which is interesting because the locking nut is smaller in size than standard and could be removed to give you a normal neck.

Reliability/Durability : 7
This guitar is a workhorse and asides from the locking nut it has a lot of life and playing left in it. It's withstanded a lot of crap and never been majorly dinged...for a guitar of its age it's stayed true and great. I'm confident in the finish and it looks fabulous. I would not use it at a gig without a backup, because of its bridge which is a semi-floyd rose copy. *this same bridge was featured on many Westone models throughout the mid-late 80s.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Company no longer exists.

Overall Rating : 7
I wouldnt be very sad if it was stolen, but I would feel the loss. I play Kramer's mainly (best guitars in history.)

I wish it had a real double locking trem and a great bridge pickup otherwise it is great. Overall I give it a 7...for the money it was totally worth it.

Made in early 80's. Japanese. 21 frets. Solid Body. "U" shaped neck. I volume 2 tone controls.
Maple neck ( Highly laquered and polished.) . Black body. Strat shape. Grover tuners as stock. Huge Jumbo Frets as standard. Really heavy and not wimpy.
This is NOT a beginner guitar. This one rocks seriously. If you're lucky enough to find one, make the most of it!

Sound : 10
Sound is awsome. Comes with huge pick up pole pieces and 250 pots.
Very loud compared to a Fender Squier. Very full sound, and highly polished fast fretboard.
Super Jumbo frets as standard.
This unit has to be THE best of all my instruments. ( 6 in total including a Les Paul Custom '75 model). So heavy, reliable and smooth to play.
This is the coolest guitar and is a dream to play. Noisless, and not screechy like many cheapies. This one just sings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was second or third hand. Terible state. Needed the works. Full fender set up required and finished off with 9-42 bulletts. Fret polish, and bridge set up.
Nut is synthetic bone as standard. Action was too high and strings were abysmal.
Is now a real beauty.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar is built like a brick ( you know what.) It's like a tank with huge frets, neck and heavy body.
The Black finish is still A1.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I believe the company is no more.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 30 years.
I couldn't have wished for a gem like this one. I have picked up USA Fenders that didn't ooze as much quality.
My favourite feature is the wonderful maple neck. Smooth as silk.

In closing...........they don't make 'em like this anymore!!!!

It is niosy, but very sharp in the sound, i like it so much, clean and distortion are great, the pickups are good

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
it's build like "the best" fender strat, only very good material (wood, neck, mechanics)

Reliability/Durability : 10

Features : 7
it has 21 frets, volume knob, and 2 tone knobs that dont seem to do anything and a 5 way selector switch. Its a off-white color with a black scratch plate.
pickup config is 3 singles.

Sound : 5
i play alternative like rammstein and orgy, i tune down to c# tuning or even c tuning, and it still sounds quite well. The only bad thing, is that the E,A,D and G strings buzz like crazy, even in standerd tune!!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the only bad thing here is that i have a set of 9 guage strings, and that is the biggest set i could put on without grinding some bits out.
Everything else is great

Reliability/Durability : 10
i havent played live, but i know it would take a beating, it had a few knocks in it when i got it and all the paint is still on.Its built like buzzing, rattling tank

Customer Support : 1
Customer support and Daion in the same sentance???

Overall Rating : 6
this was my first guitar, and ive put up with the buzzing for about 6 months now....it holds sentimental value only, especially when i get my ibanez RG7421. The daion doesnt leave a lot of room for me to expand my playing style, but it did give me the passion to play guitar, and that is priceless

Strat-shaped body, white binding, green burst, otherwise black. Two humbuckers, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3-way-switch, string-through-body -system with a trem-bridge and string locks on the saddle. Hardware is gold colored. Neck is strato-type, screwed in. Fretboard is rosewood with 21 strings. Came with a case.

Sound : 8
LOUD! Gives a loud clean sound, but rips too much with distortion. Add wah-pedal or cry-baby to the distortion and you'll have the sound of your dreams.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Never saw the factory condition. Otherwise, the neck is fast. Fits well for leads. The only problem on that case is that there's only 21 frets.

Who couldn't play a strat?

Reliability/Durability : 8
IT'S A TANK! I threw it across the room to the floor and it still works. Okay, I broke a tuning knob, but the knob still works, although it falls off when strings are removed. The guitar was 6 years old when I got it, so I guess it was OK that the bridge snapped in two. Now I have a strat-type bridge on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I guess Daion died before I started playing.

Overall Rating : 8
I've played 7 years, and I learned with this guitar... bought it from the heriters when my uncle died. He was a great guitarist. Anyhow, I keep this guitar as if it was my own son... my world would collapse if it was stolen and I couldn't get it back.

( Playing quality could be better... )
