Ugly burgundy sparkle finish, Les Paul style guitar with non-locking Grover Tuners, thin neck, 24 3/4" scale...two "Duncan Designed" humbuckers with coil tap. Bolt-on neck..

Well considering the $199 new price tag on these (cleared out online at Music123.com) I can't say I would have expected any more features, most likely less actually. I own a lot of cheap guitars and while I've never gotten a bolt-on (besides one of my basses) I now wonder why a lot of people prefer a set-neck over this. This is an acoustically loud solid body guitar...not as loud as an acoustic but I was very surprised at the volume that this guitar produces on its own.

Thin neck is good for guys (or gals) with small hands like me, almost too easy to play.

"Duncan Designed" pickups are a nice feature, supposedly that means that they were manufactured to his specifications in China... I see no reason to replace these, you can cover a lot of territory, especially with coil taps.

My music has guitar elements tapping into areas as diverse as metal, jazz, funk, and classic rock. I think these pickups do all these admirably when set right. I use the coil tap on the neck pickup for a bright, full clean sound suitable for jazz, coil tap on bridge pickup for a thin funk sound that really cuts through the mix... I don't use the coil taps for high gain stuff, doesn't really make an extremely noticeable difference and it hums a little bit (duh). My live setup is very simple, Behringer V-Amp Pro into a Crate Powerblock into a 1x12 cab. With this setup I can accomplish everything I need with more than enough power. In the studio I use a Peavey Classic 30, Epiphone Valve Junior, and Native Instruments Guitar Rig.

I'd say that if you can't get "your" sound out of this guitar...you're doing something wrong.

Daisy Rock supposedly does a factory setup before shipping...and there is a sticker on the back saying it was setup and initialed by a tech. While I'm not going to use it against them, it did not arrive setup any better or worse than any other guitar I have gotten through the mail. I would say with the money you save on this guitar, you can afford to spend a little cash on a good setup and some new strings. And that's exactly what I did...setup with with D'addario 11s (had 9s on it I think)...tech had to put a new washer assembly on the output jack because it wasn't properly fitted and would fall out when you pull the cable out. Pots and taps seemed a bit questionable when I first got it, but the problem seems to have alleviated itself with use. If I didn't have backup axes though, I would probably consider getting it totally rewired.

Couldn't find any other flaws with it than that, though the ugly burgundy sparkle finish probably covers them up.

I'll give it an 8 because this is mostly consistent with any guitar you buy new.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've only used it at one gig so far, but as I purchased it with the intent to use it live, I expect to use it a lot over the summer in rotation with my other live axe. Hardware feels sturdy enough, finish is pretty thick on there so I don't see any reason why it won't last. Strap buttons are solid. I wouldn't depend on it solely on its own without getting it rewired, but if I had to I probably wouldn't hesitate to gig it without a backup.

Tried to send Daisy Rock an email about the output jack and wiring...they did not email me back.

I've been playing for about 5 years...have owned a several Agile/SX guitars which are in the same price range as this and what I compare it too. I also own a Daisy Rock Elite Bass, which as it costs three times as much as this guitar, is a little bit more attractive and somewhat higher quality than this low-end Rock Candy, and a Cort Curbow bass.

I really don't have much to complain about on this guitar. I really like the thin neck and the light weight (almost as light as my SG copy). I use this guitar for recording and live, I think its more than flexible enough for my needs.

2 Humbuckers with 1 volume and 1 Tone and pickup selector switch. Push pull Coil tap switch built in to the tone control which taps both pickups simultaneously. Grover tuners. Duncan Designed pickups. Single-cut Les Paul style Mahogony body with maple satin finish neck, rosewood fingerboard. Atomic Pink metalflake finish with black binding on body. 24 3/4 scale. 22 frets. If it had a vibrato system, I would give it a 10.

Sound : 10
Very versatile guitar with a great midrange bark in the lead position. Mellow sounding neck humbucker. With coil tap engaged, the guitar takes on a whole different personality. Becomes Fender jaguar/jazzmaster-like. This guitar can hang with any hotter humbucker les paul style-PRS guitar. I may have received a ringer or some oddball. I cannot believe how good this thing sounds...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Nicer paint, binding a little less refined. The fret job was very smooth and polished. This is the only guitar that have purchased in the last several years that didn't require setup. I didn't need to turn a single screw! Satin finish on back of neck is wonderful. Playability is amazing. It came with Daddario 10's from the factory which is my brand/guage of string. This thing is awesome right of the box. Sadly, it's too bad that Gibson can't duplicate the fret/fingerboard finish level on their guitars. I spent two weeks and many visits to several different Gibson dealers and couldn't find one decently setup and finished instrument. I am now looking for a used Gibson from 20 years ago...

I am a retired full-time musician that has been playing for 25 years. For now, I play in a modern rock band on the weekends only and do recording sessions for a blues/rock band. I also play acoustic shows. Among my collection of electrics, I own a '68 Fender Telecaster, '82 Fender The Strat, 87 Fender Strat, 89 ESP horizon custom, 88 ESP M1, 2000 Hamer Standard, 1999 BC Rich Mockingbird. I was shopping for a highline PRS, Les Paul, Baker, etc guitar. I came across this at the music store and tried it out as a joke. "Girl guitar" marketing made me laugh...and who in the hell would play such an ostentatious guitar in public...However, I couldn't put the damn thing down! When is the last time you tried a guitar at a store that felt perfect from the first note? Like I said before, maybe I got a ringer or something...Yes, I am a guy who is probably will receive some serious flak from my fellow musicians/guitar players when I take it out for a show or session. But, I can't wait to try it live. My girlfriend digs the guitar which is cool as she usually rolls her eyes at my guitar purchases...
