Ok, I purchased this for my daughter, it is the violet burst finish, both the front and back are flawless and it does indeed have a fantastic finish which seems nice and hard... It is a double cutaway, tune-o-matic with stopbar. 22 medium frets, 24 3/4" scale 2 humbucker and a push/pull tone pot.. Mahogany neck and body with rosewood board and pearloid top enlays which are very nice, custom look...
For a inexpensive axe I'd say this one is stacked! I was very impressed...

Ok here we go.....I searched high and low for a nice/decent started axe for my daughter.....I check out Squire, Epiphone, Ibenez....all the usuals...Most were about $199-$249 range the Daisy Rock was $269.00. This Daisy Rock thing actually plays.. I mean it really really rocks, I can not believe how this thing sounds..
I play Bluesy rock...ie Aerosmith, Zepplin, George Thourougood, ..and a ton of my oun stuff which is heavly inflenced by the above....
I wrote a Amp review earlier for a Orange Crush 15R.... This combo is my daughters Christmas present... So I initially play'd through the Orange where it was amazing.... Seriously it equils some of my Gibsons SERIOUSLY... It has a full rich sound, very bright..unbelievable sustain..this is no toy it is the real deal.
You can not compare this axe to any starter axe...there is no epiphone or squire in the price range or even way out of the range that plays and sounds like this thing.
The tuners hold tune wonderfully...After cranking the Orange Crush I plugged into My Marshall JCM800 head (just to see)and let it rip.....MAMA KIN and Rattlesnake Shake never sounded better, I mean so sweet that I hope and pray my kid gets its full use...Cuz if she doesn't DADDY WILL, even with the girly paint scheme Ha!
If there is anywhere that I didn't like or not like as much a the rest it may lie in the lower pickup sound....and That is just subjective to me..the bass pup to me comes across more like an EMG sound, which should excite people but I'm not a huge fan of the EMG sounds.. Don't get me wrong its still a 10.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Again wow, what can I say...the intonation has to be near perfect... the action was super low and fast. I hate jumbo frets so again for me this thing is near perfect....My kid plays on my Blueshawk, which has bigger frets than this thing, so I know she'll love it. The neck is really thin but rock solid, so her smaller hand will love it also...
Like I said ealier everything about this axe is amazing, the craftsmanship is great... I'd have no problem compairing the quality of this axe to any Gibson SG out there.
I picked this up at my local Guitar Center and really spent alot of time compairing it to the Epi's and others. I can not stress this enough...they are complete and utter junk compaired to the Daisy Rock....
My goal was to get my daughter a nice decent starter package that would be considered a real instrument for a reasonable price......I got her a Orange Crush Amp $119 and the Daisy Rock with case, extra strings, chord, picks, out the door for $269.....Thats under 400 bucks...a Epiphone 400 cost more than that and realy is junk....

I bought this about a month ago and keep it hide at my studio... hehe...so I have jammed on it a bunch and I would definately gig this axe even with its pink/violet color....somethin manly about pink and purple..lol
Finish seems hard as a rock and I'm sure in 15 years this axe will still be rockin..... Would I gig it without a backup...jeese I cant remember that far back but sure it would hold up fine.... Joe Perry could plug this thing in an record a whole CD and no one would know the difference....

I have been playing for nearly 30years.... I have owned about everything at one time or another,.... my current heard is my originaly owned 1983 Gibson Custom Edition Explorer(nothing compares to this one), Gibson Les Paul, les paul manace, SG, Blueshawk. Fender 67 Tele, Seagul s6....
I own a 1982 Marshall JCM800 lead series head and 2 Marshall 1922 2x12 cabs, Orange 30A head, have owned Mesa, Carvin, Peavy, Crate etc...
I use Boss Blues Driver, Boss Chorus, MXR 90 phase, Ibenez Delay.......digitech jamman, sure, meeks, tascam etc.......
If this got lost or stolen I'm sure she would want another one...
Like I said before I compared it to a ton of axes...the axes that compair to this one are in the $800-1500 range.. nothing in the $270 range compairs at all...not even close...

I will let others describe the features.
I was looking for a Les Paul, and tried out the Daisy Rock as a lark.
I went to 5 guitar stores and tried out a plethora of guitars,
yet that night, I kept remembering the slim fast neck and responsive feel of the Stardust.
I went back the next morning to Guitar center to try it again.
I bought it, took it home and played it for 2 hours straight.
I found the humbuckers loud, clear and ringing.
I found that the coil tap gave me great twang soungs, too.
Sound

I use it through a fender Vibrolux, and have used it with my Digitech RP200.
It makes sounds from rich and dark to bright and bell-like.
If it had a tremelo I might play it exclusively.

It appears Very well-made!
The factory setup is low, luthier low, and I love it.
The first guitar I've ever bought that didn't need a setup.
The neck is smooth, slim, fast and well-finished.
The comfortable feel of the guitar is what initially captured my attention.

I always gring 2 guitars, and this will definitely be one of them.

I have been playing fo 4 years, and am consodered a strong intermediate player by my friends.
I own 3 Fender Stratocasters, a Gibson SG and Emmylou acoustic.
If it were lost or stolen I would immediately buy another one.
I Love the look, feel and sound of it.
It's the best fitting neck I have ever used.
The weight is so light and easy to carry I can play standing up for an hour.

Les Paul jnr shaped 6-stringer, made in Indonesia. Mahogany body w/pealoid top & black binding (pealoid top also on headstock) mahogany neck w/rosewood fingerboard. 24.75" scale, 22 frets. Grover tuners w/smooth-feeling action. I'm guessing it was made in 2003 or early 2004, it was in the shop for a long time before I bought it in late Summer 2004.
2 humbuckers, 3-way pickup selector switch, single master volume control, single master tone control w/pull-out coil tap switch.
Pearloid top on body and headstock has a startling creamy white to purpley-pink finish, called "violet burst". Daisy Rock's website shows a lighter shade of white, and a darker, less pinky shade of purple. Also, the guitar on Daisy Rock's site, and in their PDF catalogue has a seperate string anchor piece and bridge, the actual guitar has a stop tailpiece. In my ideal world, this guitar would have a Rickenbacker-style pickup blend knob, but in reality, unless yr a 2 x volume, 2 x tone person, there isn't much this thing lacks.

I'm playing this thing through a Yamaha DG-Stomp pedal, and my sound programs are almost all clean, or slightly dirty. I have a selection of pedal effects - tremelo, chorus and phaser. I play rhythm guitar exclusively in a progressive rock duo. My guitar heores are Roger McGuinn, Steve Howe, Danny Fischelsher and Randy California, just so you know, like.
This guitar suits me down to the ground. I mainly use the pickups in humbucker mode, in which the sound of the guitar is rich and full and pleasing. The thinner-sounding coil tapped mode is useful, but a little noisier. The range of tones this guitar can produce is very wide, yet it retains a distinct character throughout. Despite the review quoted on DR's website, extoling its "rude tones", I find it actually has a really classy sound overall. I've found that I can dial in a tone to suit just about anythingI've recorded recently, and it's become the guitar I reach for first.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action as supplied was a little low for my tastes, and there was a small amount of fret buzz. I've raised the action, and adjusted the intonation since I bought it and now it plays perfectly. Other than that the thing is flawless. I've examined it closely, and there are no paint runs, the frets are fitted perfectly, the join between the body, binding and pearloid top is smooth, and so on. It's kind of hard to beieve that a guitar at this price point can be so well-finished, but there it is. If it wasn';t for the too-low action, this would get a 10.

All the hardware feels solid and chunky. The varnish on the wooden parts of the body appears to be good and thick and even. I have no way of telling how durable the pink-coloured finish on the pearloid parts, or the script on the headstock are, however. Maybe it'll last forever, maybe it'll rub off. I don't know! Nothing's rubbed off yet...
It appears dependable, and nothing has warped, despite it being stored in my attic, where my studio is - this room's temperature can be highly variable, and one other guitar I own (an expensive one too!) has had some warping of the neck, unlike this one. I'm giving this one an n/m, because after 6 months, I don't know how durable it is, though it appears to be so.

I've been playing for 15yrs, my main other guitar is a Rickenbacker 620-12, my main other 6-string is a Rickenbacker 350 SH. I spotted this in the store I bought it from, when the got in a consignment of the better-known flower and heart-shaped DR guitars. I must admit, I was very taken with the look of the thing, but it was one of those things that I never quite got round to buying, well, until it turned up in the summer sale, anyway. I actually bought it w/o trying it out, figuring that if I didn't like the sound or whatever, I could have some fun swapping pickups and parts and so on. Plus, I figured it would be a good psychological terror weapon to pull out of the gig bag when we're playing w/other bands, heh. What the hell, though, I haven't, and wouldn't change anything. Would I buy another if it were stolen or lost? Yes! And, I'd pay full rrp for it if I had to!
Sure, if you put this thing beside a high-end handmade guitar, the handmade piece wins, and Daisy Rock would probably get an eight, but considering the price I paid, or in fact even considering the full uk rrp (350 quid, I believe), I'd have to give this thing a 10. I absolutely love this guitar.

Well this Guitar has it all! A nice 24 3/4 scale length and a light weight and nicely contoured body. its not too light weight though its just about right. considering these guitars are built with the lady in mind being a bloke i can say that their not just about looks! the elite model comes with two covered humbuckers wich are relativly high output and are coil tapped for a single coil sound. As yet i dont own one of these guitars but i keep playing them in the shops often enough to have a good idea about them. if you like fender mustangs or jaguars you'll love these guitars the neck is nice and not too thin that your string bends will choke. 22 medium jumbo fretts and a nice pearloid finish. but beware on the violet burst finish as in real life it looks nothing like the picture on the web site. on their site it looks a great violet/pink to white kinda color but in real life its a violet cream kinda color. the body is a nice slab top but with a cut away on the back for your hip. ooh yeah grover tuners and bridge, very nice wrap around style for great string anchoring.

well i own a variety of guitars ( 68 fender musicmaster, fender cyclone, dean time capsule explorer) and this guitar can cover all styles . the bridge pick up is a little too tin like sounding but the neck makes up for this with its smooth bluesy sound. i didnt like the coil tap sound but i never do even on prs or gibson's. any type of music can be played on this guitar but then i beleive that you can play what you like on any guitar it doesnt always sound good but you can do it.
Action, Fit, & Finish

well apart from the deceptive picture on their web site the finish on the guitar was excellent. nice smooth fretts no glue marks nice even finish (if not the advertised color!!! come on sort it out) an all round well built guitar . im giving a 5 just becauase of the bad advertisement of the color.

Never gig without a back up ! who does? what a silly thing to put on here harmony central. the hardware will last as long as you let it. ie if you dont throw it of a roof or try to lodge your guitar in the rafters (any body tried that? it's harder than it looks) then it'll stand the test of time. you might want to replace the strap buttons and the annoying little screw that keeps the bridge in place will slice and dice your hand if you dont cut it down to size.
