Danelectro 56 Pro Limited Edition

the 1956 pro u2 limited edition 21 frets rosewood neck 2 lipstick pickups,closed machine head tuners solid colors mine are blue mettalic and the other is gold. stop tailpiece, medium frets ala les paul, single cutaway les paul type body. one tone one volume control a 3 way switch, laminated top made may 2005,,i got under the first 500 made made in korea,,with serial numbers very well built!!

my style of music is rockabilly/oldies/surf music,,,i play through a fender hot rod deluxe amp 40 watts,,no noise very quiet,,in the bridge position it has a real jangly bright surf sound,,in mid position the pickuos are wired in series,,,giving it a boost of sort,,,sounds like a les paul or a gretsch country gent. in the neck position sounds similiar to a strat depending on the height of the pickup. has a real variety of sounds,,nothing i dont like about these guitars!!

from the factory its great!!!,,i tweaked the bridge settings a little. very low action without any buzz!! the bridge has three adjustments,,two on either side for height,,,and one at the bottm center for downforce,,,no flaws at all. they have a metal nut,pickups were adjusted from factory okay but you may want to tweak them to yor liking.fully adjustable bridge saddles,,no complaints.

i play out in clubs,,,this guitar is a very solid reliable guitar!!,,stays in tune no problem,,,plays well with 10 gauge strings,has very good finish,,i banged them a few times with no chips!!,,strap buttons are solid,,,i have two of these honeys,,one for backup,,very dependable.very light on the shoulder after 4 hours playing. very good hardware. plays oldies and surf no problem!!

i called danelectro to ask about this guitar, and spoke to pat,,he says they will make these until later this year then stop,,,they have a 1 year warranty parts and labor,,very friendly people on the phone,,so these will be a rare guitar after production.

i have been playing for about 45 years now,,i also own a les paul standard,,and an ovation acoustic electric,,with the good old stomp boxes,,i love these guitars for the sound and feel my fave feature is the neck and the different sounds,,it has a u shaped neck very smooth. i compared it to fenders in fact i traded my fender jaguar for these,,,i compared the souns of each guitar and found the dano has a very close sound to the fender,but without the usual fender jag bridge problems.so in closing these guitars in my opinion are very well made sound great for any type of music,,and look great to!!,they come in 6 colors,,solid ,,blue red creme,gold black,and lite blue. grab one while you can!!!!thank you dano!!!
